Thank you Victoria. Pinehurst Too is getting more and more reviews mentioning happy dogs, as well as hiking, which I don't promote enough, as there is plentiful and good hiking in this area. So glad you plan to return next year!

Having been a renter for 17 years prior to buying PinehurstToo, I try to present my cottage honestly and like delighting my guests with how well equipped it is for cooking, grilling, relaxing, boating, and sleeping. Come back anytime to escape Texas heat and humidity!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. My posting mentions the camp's well equipped kitchen; we do provide starter dish and clothes detergent, paper towels and toilet paper, standard practice I thought: arrival is no time to find a bathroom with an empty toilet paper holder!

Janet, thanks so much for all the detail you provided in your review. I just read that Sand Pond is clearer than Locke Pond behind it, but I swim in both and always with water shoes. I especially appreciate your comment about feeling that everyone was friendly, yet you have the place to yourself. Exactly what we intend, and I'm passing that compliment to my property manager!

Oh dear, this is the first report of a mouse in 3 years! I have just contracted with a pest control company, but the demand in this area is so great the company's technician won't be there til next week. The guest following Jessica has caught 9 mice with peanut butter and traps so far this week. Life in the Maine woods! Glad a good time was had in spite of the invasion.

Roy, Thank you for your review. and for mentioning not only the quiet, wooded quality of my camp but for its amenities. Who wants to wash dishes, or take laundry to a laundromat, when you are on vacation? I do state clearly that the internet is slow, to attract exactly those guests who want to "unplug" while on vacation. I've been able to run Zoom workshops using it, at least on a sunny day, but it is unreliable in bad weather. I don't upgrade it--and pass on the 3x price increase that would cost--because most guests choose Pinehurst Too to disconnect. I'm so glad you and your family had a good time relaxing. The loons had a chick this year and are serenading more than ever.

Dana, thank you for your comments. I rented for 17 years before I bought so I have a good idea of how attentive we try to be. Mike is a generous person, a great neighbor, and we are all dog lovers--so glad you got to see his great fireworks show. FYI, the internet turned out to be an unusually complicated fix: the cables to the antenna on the roof needed to be replaced, and it had to stop raining for my provider to climb on the roof to do that. Then the router died. It was extraordinary for it to be down so long; usually one call fixes it. I'm really sorry that two of your party were so inconvenienced. Glad everything else worked for you and your family. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Managing a cottage rental in the woods from 400 miles away would not be possible without an attentive local property manager, and mine is often complimented by guests. Serenading loons are pretty consistent here and restore the soul.

When guests enjoy their stay, and my cottage has met their expectations, it means I've accurately described its coziness, its kitchen meant for people who cook, and the joys of being in the woods on a quiet pond. These guests were a pleasure to host.
