Gorgeous View!

The home is located on a hill that gives you truly a spectacular view. 3 of the bedrooms are either on the main floor or upstairs & are very comfortable. I was not a fan of the 2 bedrooms downstairs as the walk to them is "dungeon-like." All the bedrooms do have a/c units & these are a must if you are staying in high humidity months. Unfortunately, the main living area does not have an a/c & it would have been nice to have that comfort in such warm weather. The home was very clean upon arrival but there is some TLC that is needed. The pool has missing tiles that make it look tired & there are cushions with rips in them that need to be replaced. The shower faucets look tired as well, they are clean but look very old. Keep in mind that there is NO jacuzzi - the smaller round structure by the pool is just a smaller pool. The two master bedrooms upstairs have a beautiful shower where one side is open to the spectacular view with beautiful plants for privacy. The only complaint is that these showers have very little pressure so if you are prepared with that mindset & do not expect powerful pressure then you will be fine. (Don't forget to bring your own shampoo/ conditioners/soaps as they do not provide this < which I think they should). Staying 5 days without fresh bath towels in humid weather is not a good idea so I would suggest paying extra for fresh linens daily as the humidity does not allow the towels to dry thoroughly. If you plan to use the pool or go to the beach, bring your own beach towels as the ones they provide are just old, small bath towels < again, I think they should invest in quality beach towels for guests & charge guests if they disappear. The property managers Sara & Heather do a great job communicating & taking care of your questions. The owner, Theresa is also very responsive to questions. I would suggest if you rent a golf cart to ask for the super rugged type with heavier wheels as the dirt road to the home has huge bumps and divots. Also keep in mind that you are in a jungle-like atmosphere, there are all sorts of bugs, insects, geckos & tons of moths. There is a family that lives on the property who take care of the home & I asked the lady if she could spray for bugs as there were so many & it made a huge difference. I think this is something that perhaps should be done without having to ask for it. (There is also a hornets nest on the outside shower by the pool which prevented us from using it)

Great property but construction and steep hill, not so much fun.

This is a beautiful property but it is located at the top of a very steep hill and there is construction going on both above and next door. Obviously this is out of the owners control, but it did take away from the house. Constructions tractor drive up and down the dirt road outside the front door all day. Making for a difficult time in getting our rental car up the steep dirt road... Both the owner and the manager were very kind and tried to fix what they could... when construction is finished, this place will return to being the tranquil, jungle home with the amazing sunset views.

First and (much needed) vacation

A group of RNs and our partners finally were able to safely go on a beautiful and much needed vacation after the craziest year any of us have ever worked. The house was perfect and each couple had their own space (12) and were able to gather as wanted and needed. The town is beautiful and food was amazing. And the entire process of staying at Casa Agave was excellent. 5 stars!!!

Amazing view all worth it

Landlord contacted us soon after our booking and kept in contact. Very responsive to questions about the property but also about the town. Local managers were very sensitive to our needs and responded very quickly to our calls and texts

Quiet getaway

Great, secluded property away from the noise of town. We had a great stay at the home. It is at the top of a pretty steep hill. Golf carts were key to getting in and out of town and down the beach. Terrific views of town and the beach. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful View!

My family and I visited August 3-10. The house was accurately portrayed online. So much space for a big family, we were able to feel like we weren't always sitting on top of each other. The views of the bay were amazing, the storms in the evening and watching the sun set over the water was truly magical. Would highly recommend golf carts, as the cars are a little more difficult to maneuver up the hills and on the dirt road when it is washed out.

Amazing views!

House was beautiful and well equipped. Lots of room and deck space to spread out for a large group. View and sunsets were stunning from all the decks but especially the roof top palapa. Heather is in town and very responsive to any questions. The only down side is the VERY steep hill to get to the house - walking to town is easy but even the fittest of the crowd had a tough time walking back home in the afternoon! Golf carts were helpful but can really only accommodate 3 going up....if we were to do it again we would probably just cab home - very cheap. Without the steep hill you wouldn’t have those amazing views so well worth the climb!!!

We stayed here with 3 families for a summer vacation. The house and view were beautiful!

We had visited Sayulita before and wanted to come back to stay. This house was perfect. The weather was very humid for the time of year but we spent most our time in the pool overlooking the gorgeous view, if we weren't down at the beach. The view of the surrounding jungle and beach town were amazing! The hill up to the house is steep but many days during our stay we didn't use a golf cart and instead walked down for exercise and took a taxi back up. On occasion when we needed groceries we rented a golf cart. The property owner, manager, and assistant were all very gracious and helpful in coordinating our trip. I highly recommend this house for any vacation!!

A fun, gorgeous place!

We were a party of 14, including some small children, some preteens, and some adults. It was a great place to spread out. We all had enough of our own space to not feel like we were on top of each other, and the roof top deck was a huge bonus space and one of the favourite spots to catch an afternoon nap or watch the stars at night. The views from the house, and particularly from the roof top deck, were just breathtaking. Seeing the whole town from up there gave a great perspective on the area, and you could even see how the surf was on any given day! The house was clean and cared for, although there was a lack of dishes and cooking utensils that we mentioned to the host. They're putting it right for guests in the future, so no complaints there. We all enjoyed the pool as well as the time in the town. Renting golf carts was absolutely needed and so much fun. The kids all just wanted to go drive down the hill and around the town, and we did it all the time. The house's caregiver, Heather, was really easy to contact and ready to help with anything we needed. Anna, the woman who lives in the lower suite and cleans was very lovely, and had *almost* enough beach towels for us to each have one. (We were a really big party so we did a bit of sharing, which was fine.) Thanks so much to Theresa, Heather, Anna, for a wonderful week! We'll definitely recommend Casa Agave to friends and family.

Spacious comfortable home with incredible views. Quiet and secluded overlooking the ocean.

Celebrated a milestone birthday with nine women for a week. Plenty of space with the five bedrooms and five baths. Main and upper level bedrooms were spacious with incredible views. Upper level bathrooms had open air showers overlooking the ocean. Lower level bedrooms were referred to as the dungeon..best for privacy and late sleepers! The entrance from the lower level (housekeepers home) was a little creepy and we were caught off guard a couple times with someone stopping in to drop off towels, etc., at odd hours. Would recommend housekeeping use the front door. Very few bugs in spite of some of the prior reviews. We kept our food off the counters and had no issues. Pool was fairly small, but clear, clean, and perfect for our group to gather and cool off. Ana, the housekeeper, was very sweet and we hired her to cook a delicious Mexican Cuisine meal one evening and she even baked a beautifully decorated birthday cake. Heather, the property manager, was very helpful and responded quickly to requests for golf cart rentals, restaurants, and excursion referrals. Lots of gathering space to accommodate our group. Overall very clean and comfortable, only complaint regarding housekeeping would be the windows! With such gorgeous views being the highlight, owners should invest in regular window cleaning. Golf cart rental was a necessity with the steep hills leading up to the home. The town of Sayulita had a relaxed and friendly vibe, and we felt safe tooling around on our golf carts and exploring the beaches and shops. Meals in town were all tasty and quite inexpensive. Overall a great trip and a great experience.

Great value for large space with amazing views

We had a group of 11 people stay at Casa Agave during our trip to Sayulita. The house is roomy and really a bargin for the amount of space you get. The view is probably the best in Sayulita. We rented golf carts and had no trouble getting up and down the hill. The caretakers for the house live in an apartment below the lower level of the house. It wasn't a problem at all - just something other travelers might want to be aware of. Heather was very helpful and informative - we had no issues whatsoever.

Spectacular views and stunning villa. The pool and roof top terrace take it to the next level.

Casa Agave exceed our expectations! Beautiful location, well cared for, with lots of room and nice cool AC in the bed rooms. There were minimal bugs for a place up in the jungle and we had plenty of clean towels. Arranged airport transfers and pre-booked golf cart were ready and waiting for us. I looked at a lot of places to take some key staff to celebrate 25 years in business. It was the perfect choice and I would definitely go back again. Great kitchen with lots of fresh water at the water cooler. All that and a property manager who took exceptional care of us made for a trip none of us will ever forget! The town is full of fun, energy and great local food. Try the Ally Kat tours, the Choco Banana for a Latte, Medusa for dinner, Northside cafe for breakfast to name just a few! I strongly encourage anyone to consider Casa Agave and the town of Sayulita for your next holiday.

Impressive Casa Agave

As we drove through charming Sayulita, we spotted Casa Agave, tucked into the luxuriant tropical foliage of the jungle overlooking this funky, colorful beach town. The drive up to the house found us on a narrow, cobblestone lane..and calling Sarah for guidance. Upon walking through the front door, your immediate view is through the open back doors, over the pool looking down into Sayulita....Muy bonita! Our family of 13, ages 15-79, had plenty of room to spread out or hang-out. Beds are comfortable and linens are crisp and clean. The AC in all bedrooms worked very well. Bathrooms are clean and we were all excited to find out you can flush paper here! If you've traveled to Mexico before, you understand how important this can be! The kitchen had enough gear to do simple cooking...plenty of plates and cups. I would recommend not over-buying food, if you are a large group, as the refrigerators are a bit small(and our cervezas took up most of the room!) Also, bring ice if you can. We are an adventurous group but found that walking into town would be a bit too much, but it was July and hot. It's a short drive...will take you longer to find parking. The pool is small, but we all enjoyed it to the fullest...from breakfast to bed-time, we were in it! Yes, there are bugs! And if you want to see every single one the jungle has to offer, just leave the lights on the back patio and see what happens...once was enough for us, but we all had fun checking them out and taking pictures to find out what we were looking at! Surprisingly, we didn't really get many mosquito bites this trip. Teresa and her team in Sayulita were always available and helpful and we felt taken care of throughout the visit. If your family is looking for an adventure with a location off the beaten path, Casa Agave in Sayulita is where you should be!

Amazing view!

We shared the house with another family. We all had a great week playing in the pool with the best view in Sayulita. Every sundown the Tejon would gather in the tree in front of the house. Really great to see some really cool nature right from the balcony. We BBQ'd on the roof. Slept comfortably with air conditioning. They checked in on us throughout the week to make sure everything was good. It was great!

A few things we didn't realize

The house itself was very nice but the ants and bugs were a constant pain. No one warned us not to leave food out on the counters so the first day ants were in everything and we fought them the whole week. Second was the towel issue. We had 1 towel for shower and 1 towel for the pool for the whole week. We did not have access to the washer dryer they were locked up. When we asked about them we were told to go the the laundry and pay to have them done. REALLY after paying almost $3000. The whole idea behind a house is for those little extras. There was no cleaning lady not that we needed one. But when we all got sick It would have been nice to have a little help like clean towels and sheets after 4 days. The good news is the house is well furnished. Gorgeous views and all the dishes and glasses we needed. It is way more Spectacular than the pictures can show. Would we rent this again. I think not. Others their had full access to all things including more cleaning supplies than just a broom and dustpan. :>(

Excellent House, Great View!

Our group of 8 loved the house, and we would highly recommend it. The 3 upstairs bedrooms are totally lovely while the two downstairs are fine, though lacking in natural light. It is about a 15 minute walk from the house to the center of town, and it is easy to get cabs back up the hill. The terraces and pool are really nice, and the kitchen is well equipped. For the price and the view, we highly recommend Casa Agave! The staff were responsive to our needs as well!

Perfect for a large group!

Casa agave was home to 10 of us girls for 9 days and it was perfect! It is very spacious, many different areas for the group to hang out and the pool was fantastic! Having the two kitchen was also wonderful as we loaded up on food and drinks to have at the house. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and large. The fact that it was two girls per bathroom was incredibly handy as well, although everyone was coming upstairs to use the open air showers, which were just beautiful! The hill is quite gruelling to climb up but the views are just stunning and well worth it! We loved our time at casa agave and can't wait to book again!

Beautiful property!

Casa Agave is beautiful and well-maintained. Our group of 10 girls stayed comfortably with all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and 2 kitchens. We loved the pool deck and roof deck! The main house is open-air to the outside, so just be prepared for bugs in the main hang out areas. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and closed off, so no bugs there. We had a great time :)

A great place to stay!

Great location (must have golf carts unless you like hiking). The house was beautiful. Great space in every bedroom and the common areas are massive. Rooftop terrace and infinity pool are great for watching the sunset from. The house is just like the photos, no unexpected surprises. Comfortably fit our entire group. Felt safe in the area. Lots of dishes and bedding in the house, the AC in every bedroom was amazing and necessary :) property manager and in house cleaners were spectacular.
