We have been married for 25 years and have two AMAZING kids. We both have hospitality backgrounds and own and operate The Magnolia House On Weiss Lake and VRBO number 968338, and we have other properties on this site and others. We are also in the Real Estate business. Our passion is to ensure that everyone of our guests has a FIVE STAR stay at our properties and we always try and go above and beyond. Thanks for considering staying with us!
Why Dave Kubat chose Cherokee County
VERY limited on finding a property to hold larger groups. We have seen others that are 4 townhomes in a row or several houses in a subdivision in close proximity but this "compound", so-to-speak, is all together and there is nothing else on the property. It all gets used by your group. Family reunions, weddings (additional fees apply), corporate or church retreats. We have banquet furniture and we can connect you with caterers and all ancillary services. Our reputation is that "we have thought of everything". We really do live that. For the most part, all your group needs to bring is food and clothing. We have everything else. Trash bags, paper towels, bath tissues, kleenex, shampoos and conditioners, soaps, dishwasher and laundry detergents, coffee sweeteners, basic spices, salt and pepper shakers, beach towels, linens and bath towels and so much more!
What makes this House unique
This historic home was built in 1870 by the Webbs. It was originally built down the hill where the lake is now. (When the water level drops you can still see the giant tree stumps from the two trees that were in the front yard). When the lake was built in late 50's, the owners of the house had it moved uphill so the house could be saved from impending flooding. Since they were then going to get a view of the lake, they turned the home so that the porches faced the new lake. The Poland family that purchased the property in the 1980's added glass to the front porches for four season enjoyment. The original front of the home, my favorite, faces the woods and has two OLD gigantic Magnolia trees; hence the name The Magnolia House. We bought it in 2017 and opened her up for events and for leisure travel.
