Ants and harpoons
Our arrival was 3/14/22 and our stay was 14 days long. Our initial impression of this house was "This is Amazing". The house was very comfortable, clean, was fully stocked with everything you need, except we couldn't find the can opener. The setting was peaceful along the canal, and the pool looked very inviting.
Once we began to unpack we realized that the house had no internet, nor did the TV programs work. The pool, which is listed as heated, was cold and not at a temperature that would be enjoyable. We knew the manager would be by the next day, so we went on with our business and did some necessary grocery shopping.
When we returned we sat by the relaxing canal. The canal was filled with lots of turtles, fish, and we saw two different alligators. The Neighbor to the left (west side) was extremely nice and helpful.
The next morning, Chris, the manager arrived. He turned up the pool heat and apologized for the TV/internet issue. He contacted Sven the property manager who later made contact with the cable company, who advised they would be out the following day. The cable company showed up as scheduled, and corrected the issues. We had minimal viewing channels, but it was at least something. If you like watching news all day, you will be good to go.
After adventuring out that day, waiting on the pool to warm, we came home and found small ants all over the kitchen counter. We attempted to correct this issue by purchasing some traps at the local store. When the traps didn't work I texted Sven, who promptly sent out an exterminator. 3/16
The Exterminator, Tracie, arrived and explained that the "sugar" ants are seasonal and caused by the lack of rain. She placed down some attractant and said that if the ants come back in a couple of days to text Sven and she would swing back by to put down some additional attractant.
Within hours we hardly seen anymore sugar ants. On 3/21 the ants came back, and were alot heavier than the first time. This made cooking very difficult. You were continously wiping ants off the counter and sink area. I texted Sven to have Tracie stop back over. No answer from Sven.
On 3/22 we went out to take a dip in the pool and noticed the temperature drastically dropped. I walked out to the pool heater and saw that it said "No Flow". After not hearing from Sven the day prior, I called him and left a voice-mail about the pool and about the ants all over the counter tops. We never got a response from Sv
