Paradise

Stayed for almost 3 weeks in a beautiful accommodation, heavenly situated with a view of the famous mountain of Cezanne, the Monte Sint Victoire. Walked, cycled, enjoyed the peace in and around the house and felt completely at home. Despite the slightly too high temperatures we had a wonderful holiday. The owners Marianne and Tom are very sweet, attentive and helpful people who take good care of their guests and we regularly enjoyed various types of lettuce from their own garden. Aix en Provence is a fantastic city and a culinary tip is Etude in the center where you can have a delicious lunch. Unfortunately we missed Cezanne, but from July the city breathes Cezanne. Tom and Marianne, thank you for the loving hospitality.

Away from it all but not so far you can’t visit it all!

The owner Marianne, and her husband, were so nice to allow us to check in 2 hours early. They gave us produce from their garden to use in our home cooked meals. The weather was extremely hot (95-100 F) during our visit and they request the air conditioning be off when you leave the house, but because part of the house is underground, it does not get hot induce too quickly. There is a washing machine for your clothes and a rack to dry them outside. It’s dry like a desert in the summer and clothes dried quickly. Vauvenargues is a tiny village with 3 very good restaurants: pizza & other entrees at La Garde, French-Moroccan at La Couscousier, and a Michelin star restaurant at Hotel Sainte Victoire. Picasso’s castle is in the village though you can’t visit. Lac de Bimont and surrounding area has beautiful hiking trails. Aix-en-Provence is so close with many opportunities for shopping and dining. We rented a car and used Parking Mignet in Aix each time we drove to town. A very lovely way to stay in Provence!

Beau gite et tres bel accueil

Nous avons passé une agréable semaine de vacances dans le gite de Marianne, qui nous a tres bien accueilli. L'hôte est une presence discrete et tres attentionnée. La region est superbe et il y a plusieurs randonnées accessibles au départ de la maison.

un excellent séjour

Un gîte remarquable. De l'espace, du goût, une conception pour un confort maximal du locataire. Rien ne manque et tout est très propre. Et il y a de la lecture pour tous les goûts. De plus, la vue depuis la salle et la cuisine donne sur la belle nature de la vallée de Vauvenargues. Mais il ne faut pas oublier d'ajouter n'a discrétion, la délicatesse, la sympathie dont font preuve Marianne et Tom. On ne sent bien englue compagnie.

Die Freundlichkeit der Vermieter ist das Besondere unseres Aufenthalts. Sie waren stets unaufdringlich und ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Kommunikation klappte auch ohne perfekte Französisch-Kenntnisse. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet, vor allem die Klimaanlage war bei der Augusthitze ein großer Vorteil. Die Einrichtung ist individuell und außergewöhnlich mit vielen Büchern und Kunstobjekten. Vom Haus aus hat man einen guten Blick auf den Mont St. Victoire und andere nahegelegene Berge.

Lovely home in a beautiful area

The house is very much like it is decribed: it is spacious, tastefully furnished and with lots of art made by the owners. Very good kitchen with everything you can think of! It is situated in a very calm area, has beautiful views and a nice garden where one can sit in the sun or in the shade. The owners were very nice and respectful towards our privacy and were willing to give us advice about what to see in the surroundings. We were welcomed with tomatoes, basil, peppers from their own garden which was very welcoming indeed! We were sorry we only stayed here for 5 nights, would have liked to stay much longer. Highly recomended for anyone who enjoyes a peaceful stay in an area where there is so much to see and where there's somethng to everyones taste! Thank you very much for letting us stay here! Excellente propriete pour un magnifique sejour

Loft spacieux, parfaitement aménagé, décoré avec gout et très bien équipé. La climatisation a très bien fonctionné pendant cette période de canicule. Nous avons profité du jardin ombragé et même des produits du potager. Marianne et Thomas sont très sympathiques, ils nous ont accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et étaient toujours disponibles. Vauvenargues se trouve à proximité de la ville d'Aix-en- Provence, dans un magnifique paysage provençal et, détail important: il y fait beaucoup moins chaud qu'a Aix. Nous espérons pouvoir y retourner l'année prochaine.
