Fill your days with energetic hikes or relaxing walks. Explore the wonders of Rocky Mountain National Park, enjoy a shopping spree in downtown Estes Park, take a refreshing dip in the pool, or simply relax on the wide-open front porch. Evenings bring a peaceful lull in the activity — this is the time to watch for deer and elk browsing just outside of the cabin, enjoy a barbecue dinner on the porch, or snuggle up by a crackling fire. Experience the joy, excitement and relaxation of a mountain vacation.
Trail Ridge Cabin is a warm, pleasant, cozy cabin-away-from-home perfectly situated between downtown Estes Park and the south entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The sunny, south-facing front porch offers incomparable views of Longs Peak and the Continental Divide, with similar picture window views from the living room. Wildlife such as hummingbirds, deer and elk are frequent visitors to this quiet, picturesque cabin community, located well off of the highway on the west side of Estes Park. This one-bedroom cabin includes a full kitchen (including microwave and gas range/oven), full bath, and large porch.
Trail Ridge Cabin is located just a half mile east of the Rocky Mountain National Park boundary, with foot access to trails into the Park and down into Estes Park. The RMNP Visitor's Center is within close walking distance down the hill. Distance to the official South Entrance station is about 1.5 miles by foot and less than 3 miles by car. The center of downtown Estes Park is about 2 miles by the highway, with many other shops and restaurants along the way. Wonderful cozy and clean cabin with a great view!
Sallie and Jay prepared everything! The place was cozy and we immediately felt at home. The views were great and the layout and amenities perfection. Thanks for a great Christmas weekend away!
Great quiet location. Very clean, well stocked, comfortable. Love the view of Long's Peak!
Super cute; well kept!
Our family of 4 stayed comfortably here. Well stocked kitchen, movies for everyone's liking, cozy fireplace, super convenient location. Would stay again!
So Close to Everything, but Remote Enough That Your Don't Hear a Sound
Simply put, Trail Ridge Cabin is a beautiful place to stay! We spent 4 days in the area based out of this wonderful cabin. It's not huge, but everything you need is there. There were just the two of us so there was ample room. The cabin is old enough to have some history, but has been updated to a modern feel. The rooms are bright. Skylights in the living room area were a great addition to the space. The road up the hill to the cabin is paved, but is a little rough. Not a problem for our big SUV, but might be a bit tricky in a small car.
The view is amazing! Sitting on the porch is just so relaxing. We noticed right away that you hear virtually nothing. It's so silent. So peaceful. Deer came by every day. There are neighbors, but we really didn't see too many people around.
The bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. There is no dishwasher, but that certainly isn't a deal breaker. In the spot where a dishwasher might go, there is a washer/dryer combo that would be welcome on a longer stay. You can always wash dishes by hand, but washing clothes is another story. Wi-Fi works well and cell service is great. There are TVs in the living room and bedroom, but honestly, the best view is out the front window!
While it seems so quite, the cabin is just a couple minutes drive from all the action in downtown Estes. In the other direction its a couple of minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. You couldn't ask for a better location. There are a number of spots to hike or picnic in the area. The Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park is worth the drive if you have time. Spectacular views and many places to explore. It is a bit scary at some points as it is a mountain road, but it is also in great condition and the speeds are appropriate. The road is closed in the winter, so keep that in mind. We drove as far as Grand Lake and had a great lunch at the lodge there.
No matter where our adventures took us, it always felt great to come back "home" to Trail Ridge Cabin at the end of the day!
Sallie and Jay have a beautiful place and we are very happy that they were willing to shared it with us. They are great hosts and communicated well. Everything was as promised. No question, we would stay there again if we were in the area. Highly recommended!
Cozy, clean, comfortable cabin
My husband and I loved staying at the Trail Ridge cabin. It's location is ideal. Right at the feet of Rocky Moutain National Park and minutes from Estes Park. The cabin was sunny, comfortable and clean! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck after a day of hiking and taking in all exquisite scenery. The wildlife cruising by was also a treat. We're already planning our return. Thank you for sharing your home.
My husband and I have been renting cabins for over 30 years. This cabin was the most clean and well stocked cabin that we ever have been in. The views will take your breath away. Just sitting by the fire and looking out the window was so peaceful. They were not kidding when they said it was so close to the entrance to the Rockies. The first thing was all the Elk that were right down the road and all surrounding the cabin. The Mule Deer were also everywhere. We visited when it was very empty around town, but we loved the peace and quiet. One tip, go to Sprague Lake. We encountered some Moose right on the trail. Beautiful. We will definitely stay at this cabin in the future. Thank you so much for having such a comfortable, clean cabin. Just a warning, we both encountered altitude sickness for 4 days. UGH!!! Drink lots of water!!!
