Located less than a block from Tacoma's best restaurant and bar scene on 6th Avenue, this completely remodeled 100-year old house is packed full of 1950s americana, including a 1950 Seeburg jukebox wired to the backyard speakers, authentic 1952 Ford billboard poster, restored vintage appliances, and a completely over the top tiki bedroom. This place packs a ton of style in a small package.

We remodeled this one ourselves, including restoring all the vintage appliances. It was a lot of work, but we hope you'll agree it paid off!

There is parking in back for two vehicles, accessible via a keypad-protected large sliding gate. Beds consist of one king and one queen. There is no dining room, but there is a ton of room in the backyard for socially-distanced hangouts. The backyard table can comfortably seat 8, and the outdoor sectional can comfortably seat 5. TV has access to Netflix, ESPN, Disney Plus, HBO Go, and Hulu. Bookcase has lots of games, including Cards Against Humanity, Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Taboo, Scattergories.

Guests get access to the whole property--house, yard, etc.

Due to parking limitations in the neighborhood, we recommend parking in the back where there are two parking spots off the alley. The code lock is on the back door.

Great Stay in a Great Tacoma Location!

I had a WONDERFUL stay in the Retro 6th Ave cottage! Check-in was easy and there is secure parking with gated access to the back yard. A welcome basket with snacks made in the NorthWest greeted me at the door. Vintage decor touches in every room were both fun and comfortable. Host Jenni was amazing! She checked in on me several times throughout my stay and was available for anything I needed. There are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance too! I will definitely be staying here again when visiting Tacoma!

Great quirky place.

Fun little retro house. Exactly as the listing shows, but it's good to be aware it's an older home- the kitchen is functional but very retro, the living room is cozy but small, and the only place to eat is outside. If you're mostly eating out or getting takeout it's great, if you're planning to do a lot of cooking or hang out inside it's a small space. All in the listing, just good to be aware!

Adorable cottage in great location

We loved the vintage decor of the cottage and it was sparking clean! It was comfortably furnished with mid century style and we enjoyed playing the jukebox ! The kitchen was very well stocked, as was the bathroom. We walked down the block to Primo Grill for dinner, which had great food and service. I really liked having our car off the street in the gated back entrance and the cottage itself felt very safe and secure. We would definitely recommend!

Refreshing Retro

Spent three wonderful nights here. The king bed in the Tiki Room was so comfortable it was hard to get up! We were surprised how quiet it was inside (homes are very close together in the neighborhood). Really well-appointed kitchen, bath and laundry. So nice to have K-cups, creamer, and even a "welcome basket" of goodies. The outdoor fire pit made sitting on the patio in the evening really enjoyable. The parking behind the house with an auto-gate was a nice bonus! Great location to walk to 6th Avenue for food and beverages. And just a short drive to many of Tacoma's sights. Thank you Jenni for everything!

Hidden Gem Off 6th

This is a fantastic spot if you're looking for an out of the way getaway in Washington. The property is a 5 minute walk from the 1 line which will get you to the waterfront and connecting transit to Seattle. The back yard is a HUGE bonus as it makes the property feel gigantic for the price. The retro vibe is neat and we felt at home for our entire stay. I'd definitely recommend staying here for anyone that's looking for a quiet stay during their trip.

What a Fun Place!

We really loved it here, what a fun and unique house! My kids (4 and 2) were especially fond of listening to music from the jukebox and trying to mimic the tiki faces they found. We were comfortable and had everything we needed, plus great communication from the host. Location was great - within walking distance of dinner, drinks, breakfast, etc. All in all the perfect last night in WA before we left through Seattle the next day!

A Perfect Stay

I could not have been happier. Home was clean. Well appointed, Smartly furnished. Parking was perfect. A secure enclosure for your vehicle. I arrived at night and left early the next morning, but the home seems to be situated where a lot is happening; eateries and shopping. Park and walk would be a fair statement. Hope my next stay will be longer.

Great little house!

Loved this space; the design and decor are fabulous and the vintage appliances are amazing (of course, we didn't try to cook with them!). The house was clean and comfortable, everything was exactly as promised, backyard space is lovely. Communication and check in/out was easy. We'd gladly come back!

What an amazing little paradise!

This is an amazing rental in one of my favorite parts of Tacoma. It's just a few steps away from the best breakfast place in town, Shakabrah, and there are so many shops to enjoy. From gaming, vintage clothing, records, books, and all sorts of delicious food, this home away from home is seconds away from a perfect day for whoever stays here. The house is incredibly clean, everything is there for you, and you can feel the love and care put into taking care of the home. I had to take pictures of the appliances to show my Dad who is obsessed with the 50s and 60s. I would buy their fridge and oven if they would let me! The record library was so much to listen to as a pair of music lovers. Everything is comfortable from the beds, the couches, outside, and the overall atmosphere. The snacks were welcomed and made us feel so welcome. This is the second time we've stayed at a property from these amazing people have taken so much time and care to create a wonderful experience.

Cute place with retro vibe

Nice 2 bedroom place with a cute retro kitchen. Tiki style bedroom with comfy memory foam bed. Goody snacks were nice. Only drawback would be if you had 4 people and needed a dining room table. 2 person kitchen table and coffee table would be it. Nice neighborhood with plenty of nearby restaurants

Absolutely love this place!

This is the second time I've stayed here while visiting my UPS daughter, and we absolutely love it. The location is fantastic, so close to all that 6th Ave has to offer as well as to the university. The yard is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing and the vintage decor is adorable. My daughter loves the modern bedroom and I love the tiki room - something for everyone. My only suggestion would be better instructions for the jukebox.

Fun place to stay in Tacoma

Perfect little house nestled in a fun neighborhood. House itself is exactly as pictured, super clean with a well equipped kitchen and wonderful 50s decor. We enjoyed listening to the 45s in the jukebox and walked to dinner at one of the many restaurants a block away.

Loved staying here

Such a sweet, clean, fun and well appointed place to stay. The beds were super comfortable. Everything functioned perfectly. The house is cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the decor, the music and especially the tiki room!

South Pacific in the Pacific Northwest

This place was fantastic! From vintage decor and kitchen to a great Tiki hut feel and comfortable backyard entertaining area you can thoroughly enjoy your stay. We had food and drinks within walking distance, entertained guests and were centrally located with access to the peninsulas, Seattle and Mount Rainier. When we return to Tacoma, this rental will be top of our list!

Fun decor, great neighborhood, fantastic yard!

My daughter and I loved our stay in this really unique home. It was comfortable, easy and well-maintained. I loved the fun tiki room (though if two were sharing the bed the dip in the middle might be a challenge) and my daughter wants her next room to be exactly like the all-white one. The house is an easy walk or quick drive to everything including restaurants, great donuts and the UPS campus. As an FYI, the vintage fridge is cute but has minimal freezer space and no ice trays, and the owner may want to provide more detailed instructions for a few things like the washing machine and the outdoor heater, but the property manager was VERY responsive when questions came up. The backyard with the sound system and fire pit were perfect! We would definitely stay here again.
