Tranquillo, tranquillo e appartato, ma a soli 3 minuti di auto da Zoni Beach e 10 minuti in auto dalla città; la nostra casa con 2 camere da letto completamente attrezzata è un rifugio meraviglioso dal trambusto delle impostazioni tipiche del resort. Vedi anche Zoni Breezes Upper and Lower # 288656 e # 345119. Perché condividere una casa o soggiornare in un appartamento quando si può godere della privacy di un'intera casa (open space / soffitti alti) per voi! La casa è circondata da migliaia di ettari di campagna vergine e sentieri escursionistici, con una vista sull'oceano dalla parte superiore del suo unico pezzo di acro. La vicina spiaggia di Zoni è incredibile e poco affollata. Molte volte durante la settimana siamo gli unici su una spiaggia di sabbia bianca soffice di un miglio con delicati venti alisei che ondeggiano palme verdi di cocco e acque turchesi cristalline. Lo snorkeling e le immersioni su Culebra sono tra i migliori dei Caraibi. Per l'addebito sulla carta di debito è richiesto un deposito cauzionale di $ 50, da addebitare prima dell'occupazione. My son and I stayed for one week in July. The location was perfect. Beautiful views around the house and very quite. Lots of deer sightings. Spanish limes growing on a tree on the property. The neighbor was wonderful! Tom was very responsive to every need. Quick drive to every beach and I think we visited 5 total. Highly recommend!

Beach vacay

The location was great! Zoni beach was our favorote beach we visited on the island. The property was beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped and the air conditioning worked very well. We are from Arizona and not used to the humidity so it was very nice to be able to cool down in the house. The owner was very attentive and respoded quickly to questions we had and we had a great stay. Would definitely book again.

A true getaway

Comfortable, practical accommodation with an incredible view and one of the most beautiful beaches just down the hill. Tom was accessible and helpful with every aspect of our stay.

Great find in a great location

I enjoyed staying in the house -- It was comfy and spacious with a short drive to Zoni, plus the price was quite reasonable. I highly recommend.

Best area to stay on the island. Peaceful and beautiful. Return guest, that says enough. Love the convenience of the vehicle rental.

Perfect Quick Getaway

The property was very well kept,away from the busy center of town. My son had a great time seeing all the wildlife and getting to all the beaches Culebra has to offer!

Relaxing stay

this was a great spot to relax and be far enough away from town but close enough to everything. zoni beach being super close. but the island isn't to big anyways. We really enjoyed out time.

Great family vacation haven

We stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Location was close to Zoni beach and not too far from the other beaches. Air conditioning worked great as we were there during a heat wave. Beds were comfortable and the beach chairs came in handy. Tom was very quick to respond if we needed anything. We rented his vehicle as well and it got us around the island nicely.

Arrived at the property and the bed was not cleaned. Towels all over the place, trash bag full, food in the fridge, food in the sink. Talked with the owner and I’m still waiting for the refund he promised.

Quiet getaway

Owner was fabulous. Cabin secluded. Because of isolation and Covid restrictions there were no amenities, get what you need before arrival. Plenty of towels. Cabin could use some TLC, throw pillows should be washed, fabric sofa cleaned as best as possible (it didn’t didn’t look dirty but I’m always uncomfortable with cloth things) microwave broken

Relaxing getaway near Zoni Beach

Tom's Zoni Beach Retreat was great for my family of 5, room for us all and it was clean. The washer, dryer and kitchen appliances were a life saver! The cell service and wifi were iffy at the house, but that was fine by me - a true vacation. We also rented Tom's SUV, that was waiting for us when we arrived by ferry which was so helpful and easy. I had not visited the island in quite some time and had some questions regarding getting to the ferry and rental cars on the main island and Tom took time to call me and give me good advice as well as a # for a reliable taxi. He also had a house binder with fantastic recommendations from beaches to restaurants. So helpful!! I think we checked off everything in that book! Would definitely use this rental when we have the pleasure of visiting this beautiful island again!! Thanks for everything Tom!

Canceled by owner

This property was canceled the day before I was to arrive because it was double booked. The car I was supposed to rent with the host (even though it was canceled never did make it to the airport). It was supposed to be there with the keys in it. There was only one morning flight in so not sure how the host didn’t know when I was arriving since I said I’d be there in the morning. I had to book a new house the day before arrival and a car once I was there. Host offered to help with the significant price difference between the new and old house. To date I’ve not receivers any money. My trip ended up costing twice what I budgeted. The new place was one bedroom instead of two and was twice as much… very limited options for the next day. The only other option was to stay in town and not being in town was my first criteria for the trip.

Needs Somes Updating

Our stay at owner Tom Lowell’s property entitled, “Culebra Island Secluded Vacation Rental House/One Acre Zoni” has been a generally good experience. The location was quiet. There were no barking dogs, no crowing chickens, no traffic. The steep, rough, dirt road leading from the paved road to the house is only two blocks long. This makes access better than for many other Culebra rental houses. But, we are glad that it did not rain. Half of the house is of concrete construction and the other half is of wood construction. The half constructed of wood is made of 2x4s and painted plywood with painted wood siding on the exterior. There is no interior wall surface here, simply exposed 2x4s. There are lots of windows all around. We found the beds to be clean and comfortable and the appliances to be in working condition. The refrigerator, clothes washer, and dryer are quite new. The water had good pressure and the shower was hot. Tom has a new toilet and vanity in the bathroom. The red sectional sofa shown in Tom’s photos is in terrible condition. The vinyl is not only worn but is completely gone in some spots. It needs to be replaced or the photo of the sectional when it was new should be updated. And while he is at it, Tom should replace the fabric lawn furniture outside on the patio. The furniture is badly torn and presents a bad impression as guests drive up to the house. The kitchen is as dated as the photo of the kitchen suggests. The counters are primitive, the cabinets worse. And we found the lower cabinets to be padlocked closed. But there was an assortment of pots and pans on an upper shelf available for our use. And we found salt, cooking oil, and filters for the coffee maker. There is also a toaster and microwave available. The kitchen table is a plastic folding table with the surface broken on one side. Prospective guests will be interested that I was asked to (and did) sign a contract before renting the house. The contract is pretty general except for part 6. on page 1. I quote, “...Renter agrees not to publish...any disparaging reviews of the premises on the internet...(or) it is agreed Renter has violated this contract and shall be liable for liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 to be charged to Renter’s credit card...” I can only hope that this has not had any effect on previous reviews. Tom, I request that you eliminate this part of your contract in the future.

Great stay!

Super quiet, off the beaten path house, perfect for peace and quiet. We enjoyed the sunrise over the hill and deer grazing in the fields nearby. 15 minute car ride to anything. Tom is very fast to communicate with you and attentive to your needs for your stay.

Out of the way getaway

The rental was just as described in the listing. We enjoyed the place and used it as a starting point to Flamenco, Zoni,, Tamarindo,, and town in the morning and a place to return to from the activities of the day. The local property managers changed just before our arrival but we (us and the host) dealt with it just fine.

Can’t say enough good things!

This was one of my favorite vacations; maybe my favorite. The island is fantastic! We rented the SUV with the house, which was a great thing to have! The house manager had it waiting for us at the airport when we arrived; and with 3 young kids, we were very thankful for this and not having to wait for a golf cart or jeep rental. We found the house manager and owner to both be extremely responsive. They had great Information on the area and were so helpful for it being our first time to the island. The house itself is very clean! There are some lizards and ants that we saw get into the house, but we were expecting this. The house has plenty of cleaning supplies and had some spare trash bags, toilet paper, etc., to get us started. We were able to keep the home clean enough to not have any ant/bug problems, thankfully! The home does stay very cool! We kept the blinds closed when we left each day, and it only took a bit to cool down significantly once we returned between fans and AC units. The WiFi is a tiny bit spotty, but honestly MUCH better than we expected. There was one item that I didn’t realize when booking, and that is that the second bedroom is in the same “room” as the rest of the house. There are curtains to pull for privacy, though, and it also helped keep in the cool air from the AC unit. The yard is shared with another home at the top of the hill, but it still feels very very private. We enjoyed the expansive yard, and my kids loved climbing the tree and smelling the gorgeous flowers. Overall, terrific place! The owners and manager are very thoughtful, and they do their best to get you what you may need for your stay (towels, cleaning items, beach chairs and cooler, etc.). I hope we can return one day, and I’d love to come back to this cozy home! :)

After visiting Culebra on our wedding anniversary, we knew we wanted to return and live like locals. We found our place and remodeled to double the size of it. We use it as a second home and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
