Come for the 200 acres + trails to explore, the 2-story library, the workout room + seasonal pool, and launch pad from which to explore the Willamette Valley.

The story of Mount Tom House begins with a group of friends in their 20s helping one another raise kids and build homes. 50 years later, community and camaraderie gets at the heart of what we hope to provide!

*BEGINNING OF JUNE - END OF SEPTEMBER: we will operate as the Mount Tom House bed & breakfast. Your stay includes breakfast each morning and all the amenities listed EXCEPT access to the kitchen.

*BEGINNING OF OCTOBER - END OF MAY: Mount Tom House will operate as a standard vacation rental - exactly how it is listed in the description!

WHERE YOU COOK:
*The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for preparing a meal with family & friends and includes 2 French-door refrigerators, an oven & stove, 2 sinks, dishwasher, and an outdoor grill.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
*spend time by the fire in our 2-story library
*hike our 120-acre nature conservancy
*feed the koi fish in our spring-fed ponds
*stargaze on the patio during clear summer nights
*get in a few laps in our seasonal (~ mid-June - October) indoor lap pool or stick to your routine in our small workout room (treadmill, free weights, NormaTec recovery boots)

GUEST ACCESS:
You have access to all areas of the house + ample parking. Any area that is not accessible will be locked and/or marked with "staff only" signs.

EVENTS:
We love hosting intimate celebrations, weddings, and other events! Events are NOT permitted unless pre-approved. Events hosted at Mount Tom House will include Mount Tom House staffing for set up, clean up, and help planning. If you are interested in learning more about event pricing and the services we offer, please send us a message with dates, # of guests, and your vision for the event. If you're seeking to ball on a budget, we totally respect that, however we might not be the place for you.

CERTIFICATION:
We are a licensed and certified bed and breakfast by the state and county. What does that mean? The property has been approved to operate as a business and undergoes routine inspections: our T's are crossed and our I's are dotted. We aim to provide the hospitality you expect from a rental home while also providing the professionalism expected of a business.

Wonderful family vacation home
Mt Tom house is a big, beautiful home, suitable for either larger family gatherings, or a couple's getaway. There are two primary bedrooms (en suite bathroom) and 4 bedrooms that share two full baths (there are two wings, each with a primary bedroom and two more bedrooms and the shared bathroom). All of the bedrooms had comfortable beds, and are nicely decorated. The house has a number of different, separate rooms for spreading out. One family room with the TV, a library, and a main living room/dinning room area. Kitchen is great for cooking, huge amount of counter space for prep, a great oven and stove. This kitchen would be great for groups that like to cook (we made prime rib and all the rest for NYE). The owners are very responsive and care about your stay, but otherwise give you privacy (they live on the property). The property is gorgeous, private, and secure (we let kids play as they like). Weather was not good enough to do hiking when we were there, but when drier, hiking would be great! We paid to heat the pool up (we stayed over New Years), and had a great time. The pool is huge, not deep (so safe for kids) and has a hot tub. Being covered allowed us to play in the pool even when it was raining. Highly recommend for a disconnect-vacation in nature.

Craig is the ideator and first had the seed to start on this adventure! For the past decade, he has run been a professional marathoner while also the University of Oregon Warsaw Sports Marketing MBA program director. Recently, he's also added Mount Tom House general contractor to his resume and has been the lead on almost all projects and renovations!

Juli has a background in language teaching and has had an itch to open a bed & breakfast after working at a bed & breakfast in Southern France through WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms). She ran competitively in college and continues to jolly jog now.

We saw Mount Tom House as a unique and memorable space for families and friends to gather, businesses to host events and corporate retreats, couples to get married and celebrate life events, and eventually the perfect spot to host all-inclusive adult running retreats in Tracktown, USA.

Why they chose this property

Since the beginning, the Mount Tom House was built on the tenants of community and camaraderie. A group of friends in their 20s set up shop here on Mount Tom and helped one another raise kids and build homes.

Community and camaraderie gets at the heart of what we believe in and hope to provide! We've spent the last two years updating this 7,000sqft family home for travelers to enjoy.
