Great location, comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay here. A binder listing the check in/check out procedures, the wifi code and info about local markets (like the COOP) would have been useful to have as a resource to us in the apartment. The apartment was clean, quiet and safe. I wish we'd stayed longer!

Gorgeous Artsy Apartment in Great Area/Location

  • 5 of 5

Michela (pronounced Mikayla), the owner, is the granddaughter of Biagio Biagetti, an famous Italian artist who was involved with the restoration of the Sistine chapel and several other historical works of art around Italy in the 1930s and 40s! The apartment is like a shrine in his honor, with his pieces on the walls throughout the high ceilinged room, along with an album of information on him and his works, which was very cool!

I felt like a queen in this room, with it's comfy round bed with luxurious bedding, and gorgeous artwork and antiques all around. It felt and looked like a big bedroom suite in a European palace! Down a short hall off the main room is the mini kitchen (with mini clothes washing machine) and beautiful small marble-floored and walled bathroom!

Note that the apartment is on the first floor, NOT ground floor. In Italy, the first floor (what Americans call the 2nd floor) is the one above the ground floor (which Americans call the 1st floor). This was not a problem for us at all, but those with lots of large heavy bags will have to haul them up a flight of curved stairs.

The location of this apartment is optimal, as it is exactly halfway between the Vatican area and the Colosseum/Ancient Rome area, around a half hour walking distance to each. Famous Campo de' Fiori is only a couple blocks away, and several good coffee shops, restaurants, gelaterias and grocery markets are nearby. The Tiber River with its beautiful tree lined streets is only a couple blocks south, and the neighborhood is in a quiet area, perfect for a good nights sleep!

Michela is a warm and conscientious host, explaining all the details of the apartment in perfect English. She helped us with locating the places to buy train tickets, groceries, etc, and gave us restaurant recommendations, as well as arranging to have her driver take us to the airport (about 50 euros, but well worth it!) at the end of our stay.

The best meal we had in Rome was at a little local place only a 2-3 minute walk from the apartment near Campo de' Fiori called Taverna Lucifero, on Via del Pellegrino 51. They specialize in fondue, which we didn't get, but DID get the wonderful pasta with black truffles freshly shaved on it at our table! So delicious and unforgettable! The owner was going around waiting on guests and helped us with our order. He even gave us dessert wine on the house!

We highly recommend this classy and romantic apartment to anyone staying in Rome!

Charming and delightful!

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely flat. It was clean and well-located. We were able to walk to many key places--from the Vatican to the Colosseum. There were good restaurants nearby. Michela was a great host and covered every detail about staying in the flat. It is a Renaissance era building and the art and antique furnishings--all comfortable--added to the ambience of our Roman stay. It is true that the bathroom and kitchen were small, but quite adequate. The large main room and the location were excellent.

Wonderfull apartment in the most convenient area in Rome.

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful apartment next to the French Embassy on the Piazza Farnese. it is a 20 minute walk to the Vatican along the Arno. It is one block away from the Plaza de Campo four blocks away from a taxi stand.Wonderful restaurants abound from very reasonably priced to high end that is worth it if that is what you want. Every meal was wonderful.

You have to walk up a narrow flight of stairs. We are in our 70's and it was no problem. We only took a cab once and that was home from the Coliseum after a terrific meal with lots of wine so we didn't feel lilke walking. But we walked there past some of the best shopping in Rome so it was no problem. The bathroom is Italian modern with a great shower and plenty of hot water. There is a small kitchen where you can make Espresso and prepare some light snacks but no heavy cooking. Why would you want to when there is such a choice of terrific Roman cuisine a short walk away. There is a small washing machine that came in very handy. No dryer. Italians don't use them and it really is not needed.

Michele was a wonderful hostess who was a text away in case we needed anything. It was a true joy to stay in her apartment. She has a neat book of family history that is a work of art in itself and well worth the time to go through while drinking espresso. English language TV available so you can get your CNN, BBC or FOX news fix. Numerous tours are available just up the street too. WIFI was strong.

We would definitely stay there again next time we are in Rome.

A beautiful apartment with a very considerate owner

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the apartment March 30-April 6, 2017. It is cozy, charming and wonderfully convenient to everywhere in Rome by foot. Campo de' Fiori is five minutes away, with its restaurants, merchant booths and flowers. Michela arranged for limousine service from the airport and returning, which was a real help and highly recommended. Communicating with Michela before the trip was warm and friendly, and she is as charming as her apartment. I highly recommend this property, and we will be staying here again on our next visit.
