Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and snugly situated overlooking one of Santa Cruz's best beaches, Twin Lakes Beach, this home is ideally situated to take in the unobstructed 260 degree ocean views from nearly every room. The Captain's Quarters is sure to be your oceanfront vacation destination!

This single family one story home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and two full kitchens for two or more families to enjoy. You will overlook the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. Generously spacious - with 160 feet of ocean frontage and enough parking for 4 cars, the Captain's Quarters can easily accommodate 3 generations in comfort. Direct beach access is via stairway just a few steps from the deck.

The Captain's Quarters is an excellent central location in Santa Cruz; located midway between the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Capitola, and just a short walk to the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. Buy your fresh fish locally from the Stagnero's boat on the Wharf, and enjoy preparing a meal in either fully equipped kitchen, or just relax and stop in at one the many restaurants and nearby nightlife that abound. Later, roast marsh mellows and stoke bonfires in the fire rings provided on the beach.

You will enjoy breathtaking sunrises from the master suite. At night, the lights of Monterey, Moss Landing and Pacific Grove glitter across the Bay. We stayed at the Captain's Quarters for a week in June 2013, and enjoyed our visit tremendously. The views throughout the house are spectacular. The youngsters in our party delighted in being able to got right down the steps to the beach. The house, while 1970s quirky, was quite comfortable and very well equipped with everything from beach towels and sand buckets to plenty of serving ware and flatware, cooking utensils and everything needed for a home away from home. Liz of Beachnest was very helpful and responsive to our questions and concerns. We will be staying there again.

Better than my expectation!!! Thank you...

When I walked in to the house I got teary eyed with happiness looking at the view and knowing immediately that the home was better than what I was expecting. We rented this home for my family honoring my son's graduation from high school and moving onto his next chapter with the Army. We had a family gathering on Saturday day/evening with family and friends that came by to wish him well. The house was just perfect!!!

The house is large with 2 kitchens and 2 family rooms and the deck is amazing. The pics online are old and do not let you know that much has been updated. The original kitchen and original bathroom have been updated but are really quite charming. I would love to know the history of the property.

One suggestion....better BBQ, other than that really can't wait to rebook for next year and make traditions with this property. I said to my Mom that this house is such a Happy House because so many happy memories can be created here for so many families. Thank you for making your family home a rental for other families to enjoy....Just loved it!!!

Captain's Quarters is Fantastic

This is a great place for a few families to relax. The place overlooks a beautiful swimming beach and both the beach and house are dog friendly.

Our dog loves the porch, the beach and house. You can hear the crash of the waves and it makes for great sleeping. You can monitor kids from above on the porch as they play on beach. Two kitchens and 3 bathrooms, 1 nicely remodeled makes for nice amenities...But the views baby, the views. I would gladly go back to this place a third time.

What a disappointment

For the money paid to stay here for a week, we were extremely disappointed. The master bedroom Capet is dirty and soiled. The master bedroom shower has a metallic shower caddy which is metallic and rusty. A drawer in the master bedroom has a knob missing. The shade in the the master bedroom does not have a drawstring. Deck windows dirty with bird poop and cobwebs almost in every corner. Master bedroom bedstead light did not work. Blender in main kitchen did not work. Hand held can opener did not work. Washing machine did not work...would not rinse or spin.Shredded BBQ cover. Toilet paper as thin as tissue paper! Rotting deck boards next to BBQ. Poor track lighting. Lack of TV in one bedroom. Lack of window shades although hardware is attached in kitchen dining area. Sliding bath doors do not lock for privacy. Unable to locate iron. Numerous calls to property manager remained unanswered. Non functioning fireplace. I understand this is a beach house, for rental purposes, however the owners need to address these issues. One good thing, beautiful view, but I can get that here in Southern California with just a hours drive.

Great House with a one of a kind view

Had an outstanding Easter weekend with friends and family. The house was spacious and allowed everyone to spread and enjoy their time. The weather was perfect. But what makes the house great is the sound of the ocean breaking below and the amazing view.

I look forward to a return trip to Captain’s Quarters.
