The Compass South, The Travelers Stay Near TSU

A fully remodeled 1940s house with lots of charm and modern comfort.

The "Compass South", which is one of two units in The Compass, and is decorated with a travel theme using unique vintage travel memorabilia and souvenirs from our travels around the world.

You will enjoy a spacious bedroom, large bathroom, living room with sofa bed and a kitchenette complete with mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and some snacks, and fast internet.

This is one of two units in a house divided by a safe, solid, locked security door. You have your own private entrance and your own thermostat. The only time you might see guests from the other unit, is in the parking area.

A keypad entry and drive-up parking gives you quick and safe access to your private space.

Compass South was the perfect place for my daughter and I to stay for her Tarleton Orientation. The unit is perfect with a 1-bedroom, 1-bath, and pull out couch. The unit was spacious the bed was super comfortable. Always enjoy our stays at a Compass property.

Great little place. Had everything we needed. Place was comfortable. Close to Tarleton campus. Host was very nice. Just talked through messages but she was very nice and even left us little notes for our family. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay! Such a cozy home with well thought out touches throughout. The host was communicative from check in to check out. Loved the little post it motivation notes-great touch! Close to the university, which is why we were there and nice neighborhood. Hope to stay again soon!

Once again the hosts were easy to communicate with. The location is close to the school making it easy to visit our college student. The property is quaint, clean and convenient.

Adorable

We enjoyed our short stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The decor is adorable and there was more than enough space for the two of us to spread out our things. The bathroom is large and the mini kitchen area was well stocked. The owner was prompt in her response and entry was easy. We will stay again when we are in the area!

Fantastic as always

This was our second time staying at one of the Compass properties. ALWAYS clean and full of special notes from Shellie. If the properties aren’t sold out, we always look to stay with Shellie first.

Our family had a wonderful stay at The Compass South in Stephenville. We were in town for a baseball camp and were traveling with young boys, so having a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay was extremely important. The property was exactly as described, very well maintained, and had plenty of space for us to relax after long days at the ball field.The hosts provided thoughtful touches like snacks, coffee, and bottled water, which were greatly appreciated. Check-in was easy, the neighborhood felt safe and quiet, and the location was perfect for getting around Stephenville and visiting the Tarleton area.Traveling with kids can sometimes be challenging, but The Compass South made our trip easy and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to families, sports travelers, or anyone visiting Stephenville. Thank you for helping make our baseball camp trip a great experience!

Loved it!

We had a short stay of just one night but Compass North was perfect. Super cute and lots of charm. The special notes were so sweet. Will definitely return if we ever need a place to stay in Stephenville.

Explore the world in a clean, comfortable and convenient home.

This place was great. Plenty of room for two. Extremely clean. Old house charm with wood floors and the wood ceilings are beautiful. Antique furniture and fixtures mixed well with the updated pieces and the trunks. Loved the “explore the world” decor. Easy to get to any part of town. Bed is very comfortable. Large bathroom. Nice tub and shower. Very quite.

Scott and Shellie are a Texas man and a Louisiana gal who enjoy family, friends, and hosting guests. Scott has been on staff at a local church for 32 years and Shellie has managed their 4 VRBO listings since 2020. We live close by so, if you need anything, let us know. If you need any recommendations about food, places to see or places to worship, we would be glad to answer any questions you may have or give suggestions.

We are located 63 miles southwest of Ft. Worth in the center of Stephenville, Texas. We are also 12 miles from Dublin, 20 miles from Hico and 29 miles to Granbury all of which have museums, food and shopping. We are 3 blocks from Tarleton State University, 2.1 miles from Twisted J Live, 0.7 miles form the town square, 8.2 miles from the Tarleton State Rodeo Team facility, 0.8 miles to the TSU Stadium,10 miles from Dove Creek Ranch and 0.9 miles from the City Park.
