4 bedroom, 1 full bath, 1/2 bath, sleeps 8
I grew up in New Jersey where I still live for now. Skiing and most winter sports along with racing are my passions. Sharing my house in the mountains with people to enjoy makes it all the better.
Mike purchased this House in 2005
Why Mike chose Haines Falls
The house is old and has some character. It has been a work in progress and gets better every year. I like to restore old houses and thou this house still needs work its clean and comfortable. Very close to the Kattaskill falls and hiking trails and ski trails.

We love the house! location was perfect, near the Falls and the Hunter Oktoberfest, Did not utilize the kitchen since the Dinner was few minutes away, great breakfast, lunch and dinner, Thanks Mike for sharing your place!!
Exactly as advertised
Clean, well equipped, and just what we needed for our weekend at the mountain!
Communication: owner not reachable, no check-in information provided.
Owner service: owner did not prepare the house for our arrival (inaccessible entrance with 3 feet of snow and no shovel provided , no parking spot, house was freezing, no heating, no light, power was out)
Experience: after trying to contact the owner the whole day of the check- in without any response and with no help provided by homeaway, we were forced to find an alternative accommodation at midnight . This experience was a nightmare; we were stuck without a place to sleep, on a cold night and the owner couldn't care less about our well being.
Homeaway: you can't trust this company, they have useless customer service and offer no assurance that our money would be refunded. Homeaway is unreliable, misleading and unresponsive. This is the first and last time I use homeaway.
The guest was notified how to get in the house before arriving. They entered the house to find a power outage. There was a nor easter and 2 ft of snow had fallen that day. The driveway was plowed several times that day but the plower could not keep up due to the heavy snow and blowing wind. The entire Catskill region was in a wide spread power outage. If you come to the mountains you must be prepared and know how to operate a house if your gonna rent a house. There is a propane fireplace when lit heats the house right up even in a powder outage. There are candles and snow shovels handy. When I tried to explain this to the guest she was rude and hung up on me. I cannot control the weather or be there all the time as I do not live here and did not know about the powder outage at the time. This is a nice clean warm house...Come and enjoy the mountains and the skiing hiking and all the great outdoor activities in the Catskills. Thanks
Clean and comfortable
The house was as advertised -- clean and comfortable and close to the slopes.
This home was perfect for our needs. It was absolutely cozy, as described, clean and had cute decor. The queen bed was extremely comfortable, the mattresses on the bunk beds were adequate but not plush. Very conveniently located to local attractions. The owner gave very helpful information, which helped make our stay easy and enjoyable.
Other Activities: snowmobiling, snow shoeing
