Columbus Day weekend

Stayed for a long weekend in the fall. House had the basics, beautiful porch, close to lots of good restaurants and beaches. We will be back for a longer stay.

Cozy retreat

Great location, truly a hidden hideaway, loved having an enclosed porch and a fire pit, and all the necessities, a typical Cape Cod cottage, would definitely like to return for another stay !

Clean, comfortable, well-appointed cottage.

Great location near Orleans, and Welfleet as well as Bay and National Seashore beaches! Would definitely consider staying here again.

Comfortable Cape Cod Cottage

Nice location

My family and I enjoyed our stay at hidden hideaway. The nearby beach was closed due to bacteria —so we didn’t get to enjoy but it’s walkable. Cindy and Jim were responsive and welcoming.

Fantastic spot

We had a great stay as a family of 5. Listing is accurate with photos. We loved the screened porch and spent almost all our time there. Minor issues were handled quickly with homeowner. Overall a wonderful family week at the cape.

First time with a baby

A nice walk to the bay beach, a fun little hidden property to have a fire or relax in the screened porch and we felt safe during this time of covid. In general, it was a nice place to have our first baby getaway.

A nice little getaway

We enjoyed our stay here! A few minor issues but nothing major. Could have been a little cleaner, and needs some updating. But overall it was a great little cape getaway spot and the owners were very communicative and accommodating. Fire pit was lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely weekend getaway

We had a great time staying at the hidden hideaway in Eastham! The house was exactly as listed, it was a super cute little spot in a lovely and quiet location. We especially enjoyed using the fire pit. You can also see a ton of stars up here! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils etc., there were lots of games puzzles and books for entertainment plus some movies for the tv. The host was very responsive and friendly as well, would definitely recommend this location!

Rustic, Quintessential Cape Cod Cottage

If you are looking for the charm of “old Cape Cod” like we were, this is your place. The owners are committed to keeping the property neat and clean. It’s a short walk to the local bay side beach, It sleeps four adults quite comfortably and we would gladly return. We’ve been coming to the cape for nearly 40 years and have rented several homes and cottages. This is a bit more secluded than others and worth the stay. Enjoy!

Just what we wanted

This place is a gem. It's not big and fancy - just cute and cozy. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well supplied. The bathroom is small but perfectly suitable and we enjoyed the outdoor shower, too. Turned the heater on a few times. We loved the biking - easy access to the rail trail & a sweet bay beach just a few minutes away. Easy drive to Brewster for good coffee & also P-town for more biking and fun. Great restaurants nearby. Will definitely come back again!

Great little Cape cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this little Eastham house. The location is perfect. It was walkable to the bay side, even with little kids, and just a short drive to the National Seashore. The size also worked well for our family of 5. It is older and could do with a little updating, especially the shower, although the water pressure was great. It reminded my husband of a lake cottage his grandparents used to have when he was younger. The homeowner also checked in via text to make sure we didn’t need anything. Next time we make it back, we would definitely consider this cottage again.

Cape Cod vacation

Our stay was very enjoyable. The neighborhood was relaxing and quiet, convenient to beaches and activities. The cottage was cute, with updates in many rooms. The bathroom was very disappointing however. It was tiny, with just a very low “camp” sink with a mirror at a very odd angle. This made using it inconvenient for all of us. While the rest of the cottage was comfortable, I wish this as been disclosed prior to us staying there. Cindy and Jim were very easy to get in touch with and responsive to any concerns.

Overall, my stay was good. The only thing that I was a little disappointed in was when I was looking online to find a house this one said that it had laundry. What it doesn’t state is you can’t get to the washer and dryer from the house. You have to go around the back of the house and there’s a seller door open from the ground. When I went to go try to use it. There are very heavy cinderblocks on top of the doors that open to the basement from the ground and I couldn’t even move them so I could not do laundry. That was a little disappointing, but overall everything else was OK. Diane K

Pros and cons

Pros: very quiet location, enjoyed the close proximity to the (bay side) beach, we enjoyed walking down for evening sunsets. Sun porch was relaxing. Property owner touched base the day of our arrival which I appreciate. Cons: I feel that the property could use some updates- faucets are rusty/grimy with build up. Deck is black with age and needs power washing. Pictures are probably old as the deck and outdoor shower do not look like that now. Some of the throw pillows on the couch were dirty/stained. The portable AC, though a god send as we were there during record breaking heat and humidity, was not set up to automatically drain and had to be unplugged ( including the air house) rolled across the living room floor and then up and over the front door threshold in order to drain several times as it filled in about 2 hours. Plus no instructions left regarding the AC, we have no experience with that type of system so really had to figure it out for ourselves. Has potential for 5 star rating if it would present a little better. Maybe this says more about the cleaning staff than anything else.

Our family of 5 is from Massachusetts and the New England area and moved for a job opportunity to Minnesota. We still spend a few weeks every year in our cottage and have many good friends on the Cape who help take care of the cottage.

This cottage was perfect for us with our three young daughters. Secluded, safe, off the beaten path, quiet yet close to everything.

We searched all over the Cape for a few years before fortunately finding this unbelievable place on the best part of the Cape.

Being so close to the Bay and Ocean beaches along with the accessibility to Eastham, Orleans, Wellfleet and Provincetown was important to us.

The outdoor shower was (still is) one of our favorite features ~ even in the Spring and Fall.

We built the fire pit in the front of the property and create many memories with our family, extended family and friends there every year.

The attached screened-in porch and adjacent deck helped us get the kids to sleep and still stay up listening to music, entertaining friends, etc. on the porch without disturbing them.

Being so close to the Bay side beach (Cooks Brook) allowed us to make quick trips back and forth from beach to cottage and back, and made for tons of fun at both high and low tide for our whole family.

We are also able to enjoy the nearby Ocean beaches (Nauset Light, Coast Guard and Marconi) and make the most of our Cape Cod experience every time we're there. We make sure to catch a sunrise or two over the ocean every year since it's so close.

Nauset Ice Cream features unbelievable homemade ice cream and is only 5 minutes from the cottage. This was a definite plus for us ~ along with the incredible and nearby fish markets in Eastham, Welfleet and Orleans.

4th of July on Cooks Brook Beach is a ton of fun where you can watch fireworks up and down the Cape Cod Bay.

The yard is not grassy however it is large enough for running around and family games. Being on a cul-de-sac on a private road allows for a lot of space to play without any traffic. The trees on the property are perfect for relaxing in a hammock!

Last but certainly not least, the SUNSETS on Cooks Brook Beach (pictured above) are absolutely incredible and make for a nice evening walk before or after dinner.
