An enchanting three bedroom 2 and a half Bath cottage , one mile to the entrance to the Greenbrier, come and relax on our covered front porch facing the mountains of West Virginia. Completely fenced in property with an a private sitting area under a wisteria covered white pergola. Fire pit for late night entertaining.

Listing: Steep steps. College friends all 80+ so steps difficult. Kitchen not well equipped.

Great location for us. Quiet neighborhood. More info on kitchen and steep steps would have helped in our decision making. We're 4 college friends all 80+. It would have been nice, also, to have a DVR/CD Movie player. Very comfortable beds and living room furniture.

Very cute home in a beautiful part of the country!

Four seniors came to experience fall in West Virginia and the Greenbrier. We walked, biked and ate a lot. Laughed and had a great time with friends. Wonderful stay!

After seeing all the 10/10 reviews of this property I felt positive that we had made the right choice while visiting the White Sulphur Springs area. I think we may have been some of the first guests of the season so some spring cleaning may be badly needed. The house smelled very musty and not the best for those with allergies. There was a spider web in a corner, the air vents in the upstairs bedroom are in need of a cleaning. Coffee Kueregs have a filter that need to be changed, furniture in the living room had multiple stains on it needing to be replaced. We were very disappointed and wished we would have stayed at the Greenbrier Resort instead.

Cozy Christmas

The first thing that is noticeable is the huge front porch. We would enjoy coming back just to sit on that porch in warmer weather. The house is quaint and relaxing to spend time in. The beds are comfortable and everyone slept well. It was nice having a bathroom upstairs as well as downstairs. When we are back in the area we would definitely stay here again!

Family Celebration

We were in town to celebrate my parents’ 50tj wedding anniversary. Your cottage is beautiful! We loved it down to every detail. It is beautifully appointed, was very clean, good communication - couldn’t ask for more. Would definitely stay again!

Great place, quiet neighborhood and so close to the Greenbrier and downtown area. The outside porch was delightful in the evening - large yard. Very comfortable house for 4 Ladies and really liked having 2 1/2 bathrooms.

Relaxing retreat needled in White Sulfur Springs

We enjoyed our stay at this vintage home . The beds were very comfy and the home felt like a home away from home. The large front porch was perfect for morning coffee. Enjoyed the fish hatchery at the doorstep as I got to catch up with our 24 year old son as we walked the grounds . Quiet neighborhood in walking distance to town. We attended the WV state fair and Lewisburg for the weekend was an easy drive . Host provided everything you would need for short or long stays. Will definitely book again in the future .

The house is in a phenomenal location with easy access to shops, restaurants, and The Greenbrier! There were plenty of linens, cookware, utensils, and space to enjoy. The air conditioning was wonderful and easily cooled the home to our liking. There is plenty of parking and access to the fish hatchery and nearby trails. The overall rating is 3/5 for two reasons: the first is communication with the host. Immediately after booking, Denise was very responsive, but once we were past the cancellation window we never heard from her again. Four messages/questions went unanswered. The second reason is that the description and picture of the pergola isn't accurate. The pergola/patio is overgrown, does not have any seating, and there is no firepit. It is completely unusable. There were also one broken kitchen cabinet that wasn't disclosed. Overall, it was a great home for our needs, but it needs some attention.

Very enjoyable stay and just down the road from Greenbrier Resort. Cute and welcoming house in a nice neighborhood. A couple friends friends were coming in from other states for a wedding and wanted a place where we could relax and enjoy each others company. Short walk to downtown white sulphur springs.

Sweet Farmhouse in White Sulpher Springs

What a beautiful home in such a beautiful state. Our family's first (and hopefully not last trip) to West Virginia was wonderful. This house had so many amenities, a well stocked kitchen, next to a beautiful trail, a huge yard, and we even got to meet Denise, our host. Thank you for making us feel right at home. One of our favorites was playing board games on the front porch. The Greenbriar is just down the street and lots of things to do there too!

Charming cottage in a perfect location!

We loved Briar Gate Cottage! The quaint decor perfectly fit the southern charm of White Sulphur Springs and the beautiful Greenbrier Resort. The quiet neighborhood and wonderful beds insured everyone slept well and the amenities provided everything we needed for a terrific visit. Our friendly host Denise was easily accessible and responsive to any inquiries, and was genuinely interested in our comfort and enjoyment of her property.
