We do not allow weddings or parties of any size on our property due to insurance reasons.
Peak season, starting mid-June through mid-August, requires WEEKLY rentals. SUNDAY is the only day for check-in and check-out for peak season. :)

We had an amazing stay at Pura Vida! The home was clean, spacious, and well stocked, and we were greeted with a welcome note and snacks from the lovely host. The location is exceptional. We drove up and went into the backyard to see the view of the lake and our jaws just dropped. Spectacular views, incredible sunsets. And we got our steps in, going up and down the steep but well-maintained 300 stairs to the beach - rewarded with pristine sand and a whole beach to ourselves! Other great features included a big sandbox for the kids, a working disco ball, and both pool and ping-pong tables. We had a great time!

Great House! Very Spacious ! It was nice to have enough bathrooms to accommodate everyone. It was well stocked which was appreciated. The views were breathtaking and we loved the fire pit that we used every night. I would highly recommend this house for a family getaway!!!!

We had an amazing week at the house on Lake Michigan! The children (age 5 through 16) played tons and tons on the beach, swam, built sand castles and walked back and forth to the 'rock wall'. The ping pong and pool games were fun, and, for us, the view of Lake Michigan, from up high, was most incredible and peaceful! Thank you for the wonderful week and forever memories!

Gus Macker Stay

We had my family, my sister's family and our parents staying for the Gus Macker weekend. The house was very roomy for six adults and five teenagers! We needed to contact Crystal one time on a minor item, and she was incredibly responsive and helpful! Also, the house was VERY clean! Would highly recommend for any type of gathering!

I can't say enough about how happy we were with our experience at this property. From the very beginning, the hosts were so kind, answering all of our questions, providing information about the house and the area, and welcoming us once we arrived.We had four different groups join us during our two week stay: high school friends, my daughters/spouses and grandkids, college friends, and my 6 siblings. They all raved about the location, the condition of the house, the view, the amenities, on and on.....I was initially curious how we would all handle the steps down to the beach but it was a non issue. We went down at least once each day. Just take your time if you need to.My younger daughters boyfriend proposed to her on the bluff at the top of the stairs with a sunset in the background, adding to the many other memories we made at the house.I would recommend this property for your family and guests. It easily accommodates the number of guests it says. There are 6 beautifully decorated bedrooms plus some pullout couches in the room with the pool table.The local area is beautiful and very close to both Pentwater and Ludington. We enjoyed visits to both.Thank you to our hosts Crystal and her husband. We will definitely be back!!Mark C

Euchre Club Get Away

Our group consisted of 5 couples who have gotten together for 6 years playing euchre and doing activities in the Grand Rapids area. This was our first trip away together and it was a blast! The house was perfect with its view and accommodation! We will definitely be back.

Magnificent!

This one word portrays our feeling about this property. Including though certainly not limited to... -the views and sunsets over Lake Michigan -the location of the property -the cleanliness and spaciousness of the home -the kitchen had everything we needed and more This home worked great for our large party of 11. We hope to come back some day!

Excellent stay and location

This is a property and location we would go to again. The owner and property manager were great before and during our week's stay. The house had everything we needed and more, even a large sandbox with toys for the kids in the large back yard. There are many interesting and fun places to go within walking distance or short drives. In addition to the beach, we enjoyed a tractor carriage tour at an Elk Farm 20 minutes away, disc golf very close by as well as miniature golf in town and skate boarding. We had nothing but a great time.

Pura Vida is the perfect name!

This is a fantastic home for a large family gathering who appreciate cleanliness, open spaces views, an almost totally private beach and plenty of nearby things to do. The owner is very quickly responsive and provides plenty of information in advance. 307 steps take you from a nice view of the lake down into an almost rainforest like area prior to reaching the beach!

Family Vacation

The house was beautiful with all of the amenities you would need plus more. Very clean and plenty of room. Communication with the owners was quick and check-in was very easy. There may be 313 steps down to the beach (kids counted!) but it was well worth it! Great location between Ludington and Pentwater with plenty of eating and shopping locations. This was a great and relaxing week spent with family all together which doesn’t happen as much as it used to. Highly recommend this home for you and your family!

Best view of Lake Michigan in Ludington

This house was perfect for our extended family stay! We loved the back yard for playing games and the fire pit for sitting around at night. The steps to the beach are a challenge, but once you get down them, the beach is so beautiful it makes it worth the climb back up. The bedrooms are spacious as well as the living areas. Our group was very comfortable. The kitchen is also well appointed with all the gear you need to cook for a group. Having ping pong and a pool table is a nice bonus. Also the house is stocked with tons of board games for all ages. We loved our stay and would highly recommend Pura Vida!

Our Stay for the week was Great, the house is beautiful! The 604 stairs to get to and from the beach are very challenging and not mentioned in the listing,they are not very kid friendly or anyone who has trouble climbing stairs. Also no cell service , they do provide unlimited dial out service for the phones. The house ammenities were very nice, comfortable beds, linens etc.. Thanks Again!

Beautiful Lake Michigan View

This property is. Great spot for large families and get togethers. The house is very nice, although not cleaned very well, and sits 300+ stairs above Lake Michigan making for a workout to the lake but a beautiful view. The high water was over the beach at the house making it inaccessible, however, just 5 miles down the road is a beautiful public beach. The only negative we were not told about was the new construction going on the lot next door. Overall a great spot and my family had a blast enjoying Michigan Summer!

The Perfect Choice

Pura Vida was our 50th anniversary celebration destination. It was a perfect choice! The view of Lake Michigan is stunning and completely private. The fire pit, challenging steps to the private beach, sandbox for wee ones and fresh air are just the outdoor "amenities". (Although the 300 plus steps were challenging for this 72 year old, our "younger" guests had no problem.) The house is beautifully appointed. The kitchen is very well equipped. Beds are comfortable. Ample bathrooms for several guests. Our family joined us throughout our stay. To a person, a good time was had by all. Thank you to Crystal and the staff for providing a memory making destination for us!

Great views and spacious accommodations

We spent a week at Pura Vida with our extended family consisting of 12 people ranging in age from 13 to 78. Everyone enjoyed the spacious quarters and lovely views. There was also a small beach at the bottom of a very long staircase. The owners and their family were present when we arrived and were welcoming, and helpful then and thereafter. Communicating with Crystal was easy and she was very organized and accessible throughout our stay. The house was spotless and well equipped with many features and accessories that made the stay very easy, including pool and ping pong tables, a large bbq grille, a working gas fireplace, oceanside fire pit, outdoor sitting areas/decks, 2 dishwashers and plenty of glassware, dishes, and cooking utensils. The only minor problem we had was figuring out the shower dial in the 1st floor bedroom and dealing with a faulty shower head in that shower. The location was private, but very accessible to Ludington, although a 10-15 ride south to Pentwater. Overall, we had a relaxing visit with our children and grandchildren and would certainly return to this home if we visited the area again.

Friends getaway!

Overall our stay was good, however there were a few hiccups along the way. We went with all young adults, so if you were to be traveling with children or older adults, I would not recommend this home if you plan to use the private beach. There are 310 stairs (to be exact) to walk down and backup, it was extremely difficult with a backpack cooler and chair. This home would not be a place I'd stay with my children or with older adults as they would never make it back up the stairs. The beach was smaller due to the high water levels, but just enough for us to enjoy. The views were amazing, sunsets were beautiful and the fire-pit was perfect! The house could use a little TLC, paint was chipped, walls were in rough shape and blinds were broken. The rooms that didn't have a private bathroom could use mirrors, so it would be easier while everyone was getting ready. The light switch in the bathroom upstairs should be checked as it was just a pain in the butt! The OVEN! Oh my, it was awful! It took forever for your food to cook and when it did, the bottom of everything was burnt. Then the alarm on the oven, it wouldn't stop going off, even after resetting the fuse as instructed by the maintenance guy. Eventually we ended up just turning the fuse off so we wouldn't be woke up in the middle of the night. The oven needs to be replaced or fixed by a company! The set up for the bedrooms was a bit weird. There is one master bedroom on the main floor with a private bath, three bedrooms upstairs-one has a private bath, the other two share a bath and then two bedrooms in the basement that share a bathroom. The rooms in the basement are very dark and cold. The other huge inconvenience was the WiFi, it is absolutely terrible! Even with only one phone connected to WiFi, we could not keep a phone continuously connected to enjoy the surround sound with music. There was no cell service with Verizon or at&t either! The only way to make a call was by walking out to the road or occasionally by the stairs to the beach. Lastly the cleaning of the house was not great, especially given COVID timing. We found dirty socks under one bed, hair on sheets which we has to rewashed, the waterproof mattress cover was full of stains. And when cleaning the handrails to the upstairs with our own wipes they were black, full of germs and dirt. Although many hiccups and issues, the house was in a great location for shopping, golfing and the public beach just down the street.

Company Retreat

I brought a group of 10 company employees for a weekend retreat. We salmon fished and relaxed all weekend. The house was great. My team really enjoyed it. I would definitely stay again.

50 th Birthday Celebration

This home is AMAZING!! Pictures do NOT do it justice. The views & the spaces were perfect for our weekend agenda. We filled the house with all my girl besties & had private wine tastings with charcuterie. We sat by the beautiful fire place & danced the night away in the upstairs lounge. My bday dinner was cooked by a chef in the fabulous kitchen & it was perfect. We were all giddy to just be together in such a beautiful home & stare at Lake Michigan. #perfectweekend #perfecthome #highlyrecommend

Fall Getaway

My family and I had a wonderful experience renting this property for a fall getaway. The views were amazing and the house had everything we needed and more. Communication with the property manager was excellent and every question was answered very quickly. We look forward to returning!
