I'm so glad you all had a great time! Hope that you all do book again some time :).
The mountain cabin has everything! Great living space on the second floor and view of River.
The McKenzie Cabin has every thing you need in a mountain cabin rental. The cabin faces the river accompanied by a trail which makes for an easy walk to a beautiful part of the river. Close to the square and short drive to Helen. Wineries great for a view of the mountains. Definitely recommend!

Thanks Tiffany, I'm really glad y'all enjoyed your stay and that you were able to get out and see some of the beautiful scenery! Thank you so much for the great review.
Very quiet and restful vacation. House has plenty of room and a screened in porch with a beautiful view of the Chestatee River. We had no problems with the gravel/dirt drive even with a couple days rain. You just have to drive slowly! Property was not far from downtown Dahlonega at all. And we even drove to Helen one day. It was about a 20-30 minute drive. Overall wonderful trip. Ian quickly responded to any questions we had!
We had such a great time here. The jacuzzi was a plus. Peace and quiet off the beaten path in an idyllic setting. The view was pretty and we loved our little nature walk to the falls right by the property. The kids played outside and skipped rocks in the creek. Beds were comfy and coffee bar was appreciated. Definitely need an suv to get there. We would absolutely go again. Ian, the owner was a gem!
We really enjoyed our stay- this location on the river was beautiful and peaceful! Our host Ian was so kind and attentive. The house had video games and tons of movies, which my kids loved.

I'm so glad that the games/movies were helpful and that you had a great stay. I'll be sure to keep as good of a selection as possible in case of rainy days :).
(sorry for the late response, I just now realized I could respond haha!)
The Cabin was very nice and clean. It was very spacious and the rooms were very nice, beds were comfortable. It was nice to have all the movies and games provided. Ian was a great host and easy to communicate with and responded quickly. But like many had said before the road is gravel getting to the cabin and had been raining when we were there so had some potholes. But it is such a beautiful cabin and setting so it is worth the drive to get to it.
Darling house right on the Chestatee River, can see and hear the River from the cozy screened in porch. Spacious house with lots of room and amenities - hot tub, fire place, fire pit outside, screened in porch, easy walk to waterfalls.
Owner was fantastic to work with. Accommodating. Good communication.
The only thing that was not great was the road leading to the cabin. It is not paved (which is not the problem) and with the recent rain storms, it was in bad shape. Difficult to traverse even with a 4 wheel drive SUV. Owner tried to get it repaired prior to our stay -- but more bad weather delayed the work.
I'd stay there again -- had a wonderful time -- just be aware that the road getting to the property is a challenge. (The rest of the roads around Dahlonagha are fine -- it was just the main road the house was on that was not paved.
I'd love to go back when the leaves were starting to change colors... very peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. Close to the wineries, the gold/gem mining, hiking trails and down town Dahlonagha.
The house was spacious and felt very private. There was 4 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out and get comfy. The walk to the end of the road was also a nice surprise. **a must see**The owner was very responsive and we greatly appreciated his quick response to a request. The road is SUPER bumpy and narrow (think lots of big pot holes) you just have to drive very slowly and at night it’s pitch black. It’s quite an adventure! We had a great time and will never forget that first night driving to the house.
The kids are already asking if we can come back.
Need I say more? We’ve stayed in many vacation houses and never stayed in the same place twice. They absolutely loved the Falls and swimming holes at the end of the road!
As for the house…it wasn’t fancy but very comfortable and clean which I prefer when taking the grandkids with me. The only drawback for me was the master not being on the ground floor, but the bed and master bath were awesome so that makes up for it!
I really enjoyed the screened in porch as well. Within 10 minutes of our arrival, we spotted several deer down by the river. Our stay wasn’t long enough and I could see us returning to this rental in the future!!
Oh and one more thing…communicating with Ian was exceptional and even enjoyable. Thanks so much Ian for being an outstanding host!!
Enjoyed our stay with a great view as well! Nice cabin, but bumpy gravel road getting there. Would recommend a vehicle that can do okay off-road! Overall a great stay

So glad you guys had fun! It was truly a pleasure hosting you.
Everything you need is there. Just bring your clothes and groceries. The road was not as bad as I imagined but it was bumby. The only complaint I would say is the access to the river was too steep to maneuver with kids and anybody not in good shape. Overall the cabin is beautiful and relaxing. The host was great and responds quickly.

Thanks so much for the kind words Tonya! And that's great feedback on the river access - I'll see what I can do to improve that!
