What a fabulous stay at this beautiful home on the water! There’s so much to see in the area, but we were reluctant to leave because it was just so beautiful to relax and enjoy. I can’t give it enough stars but let it suffice that we will return. Best relaxing vacation our family has ever had, and the host was so accommodating and always quick to respond. Thank you!
At the risk of making it even more popular we can share that we had a wonderful vacation at Heron Point House! It’s got a great setup, and we loved just sitting on the deck watching birds- herons, osprey, an eagle, and a family of Canadian geese, plus seals, and fishing boats come and go. The current is too strong for swimming, so head West to great beaches! Comfy beds, modern appliances, feels far away and peaceful, but 20 minute drive to town.
Our stay at Heron Point was straight out of an Island dream! The waterfront location and surrounding forest offered serenity while the house and hottub offered relaxation. It was a perfect spot for our young family. We will be coming back!
My husband and I really enjoyed our time in this beautiful location. The home is very comfortable and the surroundings are beautiful. We’ll definitely visit again!
This is an outstanding property. I would give it 15 stars out of ten if I could! The home itself is beautifully designed with large windows showcasing the magnificent view of the water. The private beach is a delight -- the tidal pool creatures, harbor seals and many birds made this a special nature retreat. Watching the sun set from the hot tub on the wonderful outdoor patio was blissful, as well as enjoying an early morning soak. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bedroom and bathroom linens. My family hopes we can return to enjoy this beautiful home and property in the future.
Fantastically appointed kitchen with everything we needed. Excellent views and a great hot tub! The location was perfect for a getaway but close enough to Sooke to pick up anything we forgot.
The whole experience was wonderful. We love the place. Excellent facilities, clean, efficient and beautiful. The host is helpful and available. Perfect.
Our two families had a wonderful stay at this rental. The kitchen is very well equipped, comfortable furnishings and beautiful setting. The wildlife we experienced everyday made it quite special!
Awesome waterfront views, with plenty of sightings of sea lions, seals, eagles, starfish, and jellyfish. The property is very private and quiet. We would gladly return.
Great memories were made during our stay!Perfect spot to unwind and relax surrounded by so much beauty! The accommodation was impeccable and highly recommended! The highlight of our stay was a killer whale that swam by! Priceless experience!
We tremendously enjoyed staying at Heron Point House. The location is very peaceful. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife, especially the peacocks, harbor seals, and bald eagles. The house itself is beautiful and well appointed. Thank you for a wonderful vacation stay.
This property checked all the boxes! The property was beautiful, the views were amazing, the beds were comfy , the kitchen had everything you would need . I would definitely stay here again!

We love West Coast life and all that it has to offer in beauty and recreation. We enjoy travelling and mostly rent other homes through the VRBO network.
Why they chose this property
This property has been in the family since 1950 with the newer house being constructed in 2003 from lumber harvested and milled on the property. The older cottage (not a rental) was built in the early 1920's with an addition added in the late 1940's. This property has over 900 feet of waterfront with a deep water dock, 2 beaches and a rocky point. You can catch legal sized rock and dungeness crab right of the dock. (remember you need a salt water licence that can be purchased online) and the area is abundant in sea and wild life. It truly is a piece of paradise!
What makes this property unique
Southern Vancouver Island has a mild climate with pleasant warm, dry summers and mild, wet conditions in spring, fall and winter. It rarely snows in the lower areas of this region and if it does snow it usually doesn't stay around long.
At Heron Point House you will see many varieties of wildlife, both in the water and on land. It is common to see deer, peacocks, otters, raccoons, seals, hummingbirds and bald eagles daily. If you are lucky you may even see one of the local great horned or barred owls. Bears and cougars frequent the area and you may catch a glimpse of one while enjoying one of the many hiking trails nearby.
