Comfortable, Cozy House
We were looking for a comfortable place, not too close to downtown, to house five people, one needing a slightly separate space. One of our party was recovering from surgery, and the rest of us were looking for active recreation, never having been to Nantucket before. This house was perfect. The living and sleeping spaces were well furnished down to the smallest detail. It was simply decorated, but had an elegance to it. Everything was very clean and maintained well. The separate living area downstairs gave our visiting cousin some privacy and space, while allowing her to join us on the main level for family activities easily.
We had as much privacy as we needed, while also having close access to the owner if we had questions. The owners were so helpful, and eager to make our stay comfortable and fun. We went to some great beaches with the kids, checked out some museums, the aquarium, bike riding, and lots of good restaurants, as well as having dinner in as a family. (Our favorite activities/places were the Whaling and Lightship Basket Museums, boogie boarding at the Surfside Beach, The Boarding House Restaurant, the Toy Boat toy store on the wharf, and the Juice Bar for ice cream.)
The downtown was an easy drive from the house even though the Tom Nevers area gives a feeling of being on the island with very few other people. Shopping was interesting. There were so many specialty shops with beautiful and fun housewares, clothes, and novelty items.
Our one week in Nantucket was a great success, in large part thanks to the house we rented. The listing description is thorough and accurate. I would definitely stay here again, as well as recommend it to others.
