Perfect Location for your Beach/Lake MI stay! You'll Love This Beautiful Home!

All completely renovated in 2021 & still looks brand new, this private home in the small community of Sunset Shores is next to the Marina. These three blocks of homes are nestled right by Lake Michigan and have their own private beach accesses for your use. They are perfect to watch a sunset or skip stones. The public beach is about a half mile walk away and is great for building sand castles, splashing in the lake or climbing the stairs through the dunes.
This one level ranch has three bedrooms; two bedrooms each with a queen and one with a set of twin bunks. There are two full bathrooms, one as an ensuite to the master bedroom and an additional full bath in the main hallway. The whole home was remodeled in 2021 and offers all the finest amenities. There is a W/D, D/W, C/A, WIFI, smart TV's to watch your favorite shows in the evening, front patio, outdoor back patio, gas grill and a firepit to sit after a long day of exploring the area or being at the beach.
This is the perfect home for a small family or two or three couples. Close to town and the beach. You can walk to everything and not have to worry about parking. Enjoy the many shops & restaurants that you can walk to in town. The marina is out your front door so plan a day to rent a boat or a jet ski from Oselka Marina and have a real lake experience.
Many people find Dockside Retreat to be a great place to stay while in the area visiting the many wineries & distilleries.
It also provides a welcoming place to stay when in the area for a fall Notre Dame football game.
For those coming for more of the nightlife the Four Winds Casino is about two miles away and there is a shuttle right outside Docksides door that can pick you up and bring you home. The Stray Dog offers rooftop drinks for 21 and over where you can sit and watch the sunset over the harbor.

Perfect Fall Getaway

This property was exactly what we were looking for! The open floor plan and beautiful fire pit made for the perfect fall weekend - just a 10-15min walk to the beach/city center. We plan to stay again!

Perfect House for a New Buffalo Summer Weekend

This house was the perfect VRBO home for our family weekend in New Buffalo. It was cute, clean, perfectly well appointed and has a great location. I would definitely recommend this house for a family or friends.

Great beach house

We love staying here! Plenty of space for our family. It’s clean and comfortable, with everything we need. Walkable to downtown for coffee or ice cream. You could walk to the beach, but if you have lots of kid stuff, I recommend driving.

Great location, great house

This is our second stay at this property. It’s clean and nicely decorated. It’s in a great location; just a short walk to the downtown area. You can walk to the beach, but we usually drive (kids have lots of stuff!). We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect vacation

Felt like home. The home was full of special little touches from coffee to s’mores at night. The family was sad to leave. Walking distance to downtown and the beach. We loved our stay.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our time at this newly renovated house. So cute and comfortable! It was close to shops, restaurants, the marina, and train stop (for those visiting without a car). We look forward to returning!

Girl's Weekend

We had the best weekend! We are mommas, wives, and have 9 to 5 jobs so this was the perfect place for us to get away! Everything was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed going to the great restaurants nearby and walking by the marina. This was a well needed break and we had the absolute best time. Thank you to John for being so responsive with questions i had and making our stay amazing. I will definitely stay here again.

The house was extremely clean and equipped with everything you would need and more. The beach umbrella and towels were so helpful as we took our family to the beach. The s’mores supplies was such a sweet touch!

Perfect Family Lake Vacation

We were looking for a house near a sandy beach and lake to visit with our children and 4 1/2 and 1 year old grandchildren. This was perfect. The location was walking distance to the beach and downtown. The house was newly renovated with a lovely interior and plenty of room for all.

Great family vacation

Very nice 3 night stay over July 4th weekend. Short walk to the beach, fishing, shops and dinner but still felt private. Stones throw from a beautiful marina where the kids loved to look at all the boats. Bonfires at night with a yard big enough for the boys to play catch and a family whiffle ball game. Jean and John were easy to work with, very friendly and helpful. They have done a nice job with the renovations and decorations in the home, it fit our family of six very comfortably. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This property was perfect for our family with two toddlers to explore New Buffalo with the convenience of having a home right in town. We are so glad that we decided to stay here. The home itself is very clean, updated, and comfortable, and the hosts have most every amenity that you could ever need available to you. We loved having the backyard space for our little ones to run around in and the campfire to have s’mores. We were able to easily walk downtown and to the beach, meaning we really didn’t have to drive anywhere all weekend, which is a major plus when you have two toddlers. Thank you John & Jean for such a great weekend! We will most certainly be back

New Buffalo trip

Property fit our family just right. Plenty of room, everything we needed. The only issue is there that there are no views from this property. The house across the street is a real eye sore, there were people coming and going all hours of the day and night. However it is only 1 1/2 blocks walk to the marina/lake.

Well appointed home close to everything.

Had some trouble locking front door from outside home. Wound up having last person come out back door after securing deadbolt on front. Was a bit annoying and not well communicated by owners. Other than that stay was great.

Great idea place to stay.

We could’ve we could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean place to stay. Not only did it include all the creature comforts you could ask for, but, in addition, all the makings for s’mores, the sticks, the firewood and the firewood starters. Who could ask for anything more?! Suggestion would be to include some puzzles and games. I wanted to leave a couple of these items but it stated, please take all personal belongings. Since I didn’t want these items thrown out, I took them home with me.

Little gem of a rental!

This was our first trip to New Buffalo. First of all, the town is charming and beautiful. Second, John and Jean’s home was a perfect stop for our group of 6. Very easy to live in and the location is ideal for walking around the marina and into town. Lovely!

Great start to the summer!

We enjoyed our quick getaway to New Buffalo! This home is conveniently located to restaurants as well as the public beach. The lawn was perfect for bocce and badminton.

Charming and comfortable!

Our stay was lovely, and this home is absolutely charming and comfortable! We couldn't make it on Friday, which is when we were scheduled to check in, so Jean and John offered to extend our checkout time by several hours on Sunday, to maximize the length of our stay at the property. John and Jean were very communicative, procedures were clearly laid out, and they did much to ensure we were comfortable throughout. The supplies for that were left for s'mores by the outdoor fire pit were a nice, thoughtful touch. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location, beautiful home!

Beautiful home

House is decorated so nice, clean, comfortable and we really appreciated all the little extra's provided, wood set up in fire pit, ice in freezer, TV's in every room, lots of hooks, etc... Hosts were very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and we look forward to renting again.
