About Todd

I grew up in south-eastern Wisconsin as a kid and LOVED traveling to the “Northwood’s” for vacations. As I grew older I was able to purchase this property to have a place to go snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting. There’s so much to see and do in the Tomahawk area. As for snowmobiling I’d say the best of trails are in the area. After a hard day of play it’s so relaxing to grab a beer and grill out while watching the sun set over the lake.

Todd purchased this house in 2002

Why Todd chose Northeast

I chose Lake Mohawksin because its water levels are controlled by dams. So even on the driest years the water level only varies by 6 inches. Also the tomahawk are has so much to offer. Water Ski shows and even a Dairy Queen accessible by boat! The fishing is good; especially the Muskie fishing. The vacation home is conveniently located a few miles from Tomahawk; making it easy to run to the store or attend the many activities in Tomahawk.

What makes this house unique

I enjoy the Muskie fishing and snowmobiling. Not to mention the quite clam nights watching the sun set over the lake. The scenery is breathtaking. Good fishing and swimming right off the dock.

Quiet, spacious, amazing sunset view

  • 4 of 5

For our family of 4 plus 1 dog it was very spacious. It's on a nice quiet road, aside from the train tracks nearby. Very dog- friendly with a crate, set of food bowls, and outdoor tie-up already there. Dock was a nice size and sturdy. We rented a boat from Tomahawk Sports for a few days. Had a garage, AC and heat were both used because of the late August swing in weather. Bed linens could use an update as they all had staining or elastic that didn't stay on the beds. But the sunsets and views were gorgeous! We enjoyed our stay :)

Owner's Response: Glad you and your party enjoyed your stay. The Tomahawk Railway way goes around the west & north sides of Lake Mohawskin. Twice a day a Small Train Engine transports railroad cars between rail yard (located in tomahawk) and the cardboard/paper plant. Train speeds are extremely slow (in most areas 5mph or less), which keeps the noise down. Any noise that can be heard from the train doesn’t last more than 5mins. Small engines are used because large engines are too heavy for the rustic old fashioned wooden rail road bridges that cross the lake in a few areas. Yes some of the bedding linens are at end of life. For 2018 season Sunset View Lake home will be getting new, updated bedding.

Well stocked lake house!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the Sunset View Lake Home on Lake Mohawksin was very relaxing. We had wonderful weather during the week and enjoyed seeing the connecting bodies of water to this cute lake house. The home had everything we needed including 3 large bedrooms and a nicer sleeping kennel for our lab than we have at our own home. We casually fished off the dock and caught a few nice Bass and Panfish. We enjoyed grilling on the deck one night and enjoyed a terrific meal at a nearby supper club. There was a power outage on our road for a couple hours late afternoon one day but the owner Todd made sure to respond quickly to our concerns and spoke to the power company on our behalf. Overall a wonderful week and would rent again.

Great location, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a week at Sunset View Lake Home and highly recommend it. Home is larger than it appears in pictures, very comfortable and incredibly clean! Views are beautiful, loved the quiet dead-end road location - great for taking our dog on walks! My only suggestion is to use the boat landing in Tomahawk - I believe it was called Laura's park? Landing 1/2 mile from the home is very shallow. We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay in this home!

Best Vacation Spot Ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

From the time we arrived until we left, we had the most amazing vacation ever!!! The house was well equipped with various items you would need, including an ice cream scoop and a meat thermometer (we always check our chicken temperature). The house was very clean, well stocked, homey, and convenient to local shopping.

Our 9 year old granddaughter lived in her swimsuits the entire time we were there, swimming, kayaking, fishing, etc. She even made some friends with the neighbors next door.

My husband took our grandkids fishing. Our 2 year old grandson caught 2 sunfish off the dock. Exciting!! Our 9 year old granddaughter caught a small perch. All fish were returned to the water.

We had the best, most relaxing vacation Ever!! I would totally stay at the Sunset Lake House again and we are planning on making reservations for next year.

We would like to thank Todd, the owner for opening his home to us and allowing us the priveledge of staying here! Thank you!!

We had a super week with our Colorado grandkids & close access to nephew & family in Rhinelander!!

Great house, soooo close to lake. Sandy bottom, nice fire pit, inexpensive firewood on 86 nearby, super dog-friendly. Really more like a 3 BR home. Close to Tomahawk where there is a great supper club (Pine Tree) & boat rental.
