Kriss Bosley purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Kriss Bosley chose Upper Peninsula

We purchased the log cabin from a friend who now resides outside of the U.S. We always loved the cabin and its cozy feel. When our friend decided it was time to sell, we jumped at the chance to own such a beautiful property and have never looked back. Our guests have often commented how the cabin feels like it's in the country, but is only a mile to Chassell or ten minutes to Houghton.

What makes this cabin unique

Cozy, quiet, peaceful. The location and decor of this cabin instantly relaxes us. We also love fires in the beautiful stone fireplace and relaxing around the outdoor fire pit.

Spent 4 wonderful relaxing nights at the Black Bear Cabin! What a wonderful experience! The amenities, location and overall setting was fantastic. If you truly want to experience a rustic, up north, UP Michigan experience, then definitely consider staying at the Black Bear Cabin. We will definitely be back!!! The Keweenaw Peninsula & Houghton / Hancock area is very cool!

Stayed for our Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for our honeymoon back in 2007. We had a great time, nice get away from the day to day of life. We had a small plunging issue but was fix right away. Was even given a free weekend stay for our troubles. We stayed again in 2008 with our boys. I loved the cabin so much. Thinking of coming back in 2016. I miss the U.P! Thanks again for the great place to get away from it all & a great honeymoon!

We loved the peacefullnes...

  • 5 of 5

We loved the peacefullness of the cabin. We really enjoyed ourselves. There is a lot of land that my boys could run and have a great time. We kept forgetting we were right in town and close to everything. It is a place that is the best of both worlds. By the way, we also stayed at their other cottage on Lake Superior in Baraga - another great place to stay. We always know we will have a great stay when we visit the U.P.

My kids and I have stayed...

  • 5 of 5

My kids and I have stayed at Black Bear Cabin numerous times. We keep coming back for more! The cabin is so cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed everytime. The kids love the size of the property, they have room to run around as with a hotel there would be no play. I love quiet nights sitting infront of a warm fire. Overall I would suggest Black Bear Cabin to anyone interested. You would not regret staying there!
