Why Kriss Bosley chose Chassell
We purchased the log cabin from a friend who now resides outside of the U.S. We always loved the cabin and its cozy feel. When our friend decided it was time to sell, we jumped at the chance to own such a beautiful property and have never looked back. Our guests have often commented how the cabin feels like it's in the country, but is only a mile to Chassell or ten minutes to Houghton.
What makes this Cabin unique
Cozy, quiet, peaceful. The location and decor of this cabin instantly relaxes us. We also love fires in the beautiful stone fireplace and relaxing around the outdoor fire pit.

Cozy Warmth with a Beautiful Fireplace
Black Bear Cabin was perfect for our trip during October in the beautiful north woods. The cabin was close to all attractions in the Keweenaw Peninsula as well as being accessible to Marquette to the east and the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park to the west. The setting among maples and pines was gorgeous in the fall and the fireplace was inviting after a long day outdoors. The property was clean and in good repair with adequate furnishings and a very comfortable king sized bed in the loft. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in a central UP location near all the best the UP has to offer.
Thank you for your kind words! We agree that the four wooded acres make Autumn a beautiful time to be at the cabin. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with your family! Kriss, Ray and Gabby
Cabin in the woods.
We really enjoyed our week in the beautiful fall colors of the U.P. This cabin was a perfect fit for us as a couple. The loft bedroom would have been lovely, and we tried it one night, but with age comes the need for midnight bathroom trips and the ladder was a bit daunting with arthritic knees that need to loosen up before that kind of a challenge! I liked that it was near enough to civilization, yet when at the cabin, you cannot see any other houses.
Amy, we are happy that your enjoyed your stay. We also enjoy the location, close to town but also private with no close neighbors. I think you may have hit the peak of color season and with the 4 acres, Autumn is a beautiful time to stay at Black Bear. We hope you will visit the area again in the future!
Classic cabin rejuvenates!
Not only did we get to see our son attending MTU for the weekend, we were able to rest and enjoy the time with him. We never left the cabin. It was so relaxing, clean and just what we needed. Kitchen is so well stocked, we brought food and were able to cook the entire weekend. Kriss and Ray were awesome! I hope we have the chance to stay here again. It was perfect!
We are so happy that you had such a nice reunion with your son! The cabin is a cozy, peaceful spot. So glad you enjoyed it! Please come back again some time.
Always a joy to stay here!
This is literally my favorite place to unwind and relax. It's a getaway and home at the same time, always a joy to stay here and I cannot wait to book another stay!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We love having such considerate guests!
We had a great time. Nice cabin, enjoyed having fires outside and comfortable cabin inside. We saw some awesome hiking trails. Thanks Kriss
