About The Owner


I am a follower of Christ, first and foremost, second...everything else--a Mom, teacher, wife, helper, worker, cleaner, gardener, and whatever else God wants me to do. Bill, my husband is busy working our farm day and night and keeping the home fires burning.

The Owner purchased this house in 1980

Why The Owner chose Yosemite Area

This property has been in our family since 1980 and was designed by my husband, Bill. Bill bought the lot back in 1980. It feels like a little unknown treasure as still many people do not know about PIne Mountain Lake. It is especially nice in the Fall/Winter/Spring as Yosimete Park is quiet, all the summer tourist are gone, it feels like the park is in our pocket, in our back yard, it is the best time to go. Then after a day at the park, we love to come up to PML, a very quiet place as well during the Fall/Winter/Spring. We feel like the only ones on the lake. Summer is fun too. The kids love all the action, the swimming, and deck barbecues.

What makes this house unique

One of my favorite things about this house is all the places I can go to for privacy even though my family is large and we have such a full house. I also love to sit on the swing bench on the back deck and look at the lake. Waking up in the Master Bedroom listening to the geese, seeing the sun peek through the pine trees, seeing the water twinkle with the sunrise, is so renewing for my spirit. Life slows down when we go to PML. We have great memories there with our children and we look forward to creating more and hope that you can do the same.

Everything that is necessary for a comfortable and fun stay is provided and then some. You have done a terrific job of remodeling and decorating it. Gorgeous home

Perfect for large groups. Home is fully stocked with kitchen essentials like silverware and plates. 2 TV rooms and a family room. Comfortable furnishings. You can nap on any of the 3 oversized couches perfectly!:) zzzz) Right at the shore of a beautiful lake we're you can rent a boat or fish off the shore. Great for kids. Community has a "beach area" where many gather for the day. I recommend this house for anyone looking to relax or visit Yosemite. Super close!

Charming large home with great views

Clean and serene. Lake offers sandy beach and grassy areas to relax in the shade. Our three families loved renting kayaks, paddle boards, etc. at the Marina. Good Snack Bar offerings also. House has many, many windows and multiple outdoor decks for great views. Fun basement/rec room with pool and game table. Recommend to large families. Manager April is easy to contact and talk with.

Gorgeous and Inviting, Comfortable for all ages!!

This property is gorgeous and inviting, comfortable for all ages!! April was the perfect balance of professional and friendly! She was a delight to communicate with and very accommodating. Our trip to Pine Mountain Lake was a surprise family getaway for my dad’s 70th birthday. The home is grand and spacious yet comfy. The common areas were perfect for a large group with plenty of space throughout the house for those who wanted a quiet retreat. The beds were extremely comfortable; the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and entertaining. The house was clean and very well maintained. There was something for everyone, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was we couldn’t stay longer. April, thank you for making us feel at home…We are looking forward to making more family memories at Pine Mountain Lake!

A Slice of Heaven On the Lake

I was totally and completely in heaven at this property. April was super easy to deal with, she was professional and very responsive. She made me feel like we were family staying in her home.

The cabin was modern, cozy, and beyond gorgeous! It had up-to-date appliances and the kitchen was the perfect size to accommodate my style of cooking. It was spacious, bright, and warm which gave us the ability to create beautiful family memories. I hope

She keeps renting out her home, because I would love to make going There a yearly family tradition.

Beautiful home, poor hospitality

I have stayed in VRBOs all over the world, and this was the strangest interaction by far. After sending the owner (via snail mail) copies of my driver's license, credit card information, and a signed contract, I did not hear back for over a week, then received an invoice via email requesting payment by the end of the day. The contract and invoice were unprofessional to say the least; bolded, underlined, highlighted, red font, and numerous typos. I lost sleep at night thinking that I was getting scammed. I am empathetic for the owner's personal situation that was occurring, but felt very uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of a business deal with her. After reading other reviews and doing some extra research on my own, I went ahead and mailed the owner a check. The check was immediately cashed, but no response was received from the owner about entry instructions despite numerous emails over the course of 2 weeks. I eventually called the owner the day prior to check-in and was finally able to get the needed info.

Unlike all other VRBOs that I've stayed in, there are numerous additional charges associated with this property (e.g. $14/person for linens, $35/day for air conditioning, $35/person charge for >12 guests, etc). A $25 gate fee/vehicle is collected by PML, not the owner, but proved to be a frustrating experience on a holiday weekend as we spent > 30 minutes waiting in line each time we entered PML.

We had 8 adults and 5 children stay for a Labor Day family getaway. The house itself is BEAUTIFUL with gorgeous views of PML. The beds are comfortable, the common area is open and inviting, and the deck is large enough for a large family to gather. We rented a peddle boat and paddle board from the marina and took advantage of PML's swimming pool. Interestingly, there are notes located throughout the house and by the boat, such as "$600 fine for unlocking you're on camera," which made us all feel a little uncomfortable/unwelcome. There was no KitchenAid mixer as noted in other reviews. The microwave was broken, the ice machine was broken, and one of the burners on the stove was not working; all of which made cooking for 13 people challenging. I ended up calling the cleaning people, as I was unable to contact the owner for check-out instructions. I did receive a full refund of my deposit and understand that my experience may not be similar to other guests' due to a personal situation occurring w/ the owner.

Owner's Response: We appreciate Sara's situation and understand that our personal circumstances (a serious family emergency) made communication strained. That being said, we have made improvements with her points of concern. We have streamlined our paperwork for renting our home by using all online forms so that no mail has to be exchanged. We have also opted for all payments to be processed through VRBO so that the payment process is easier. Both of us are dyslexic so we did the best we could with spelling and grammar on our online forms but admit that we are severely lacking in these skills. We had already gone over check out instructions with Sara over the phone prior to Sara's stay and there are instructions located in the house as well which is why we did not call her. That being said, we have now taken an extra step and provided an online form with checkout instructions so guests can feel confident about what is needed when they leave our home. Unfortunately the panel to the microwave went out as well as one burner on the stove and the ice maker...things seem to happen in threes and it was just really bad timing. We have all three of these items fixed. As far as signs around our home, we will reconsider them, but the signs are very important to remind people about the sewer system and with large groups of people sometimes as much as 20, it is so very important that people be very mindful of this. We apologize about the note at the dock. We were not aware of that. A tenant unlocked one of our boats with bolt cutters and took our boat out in the water and then left it there and it filled up with rain water. We believe that our yard maintenance people may have left that sign down there as their son does do surveillance cameras but we do not have cameras watching anyone. We will be sure to have that sign removed. As far as the traffic getting in to PML during popular holiday weekends, we apologize for that and hope that our future guests can move through lines quickly. We know this can be an issue at the entrance gate and we understand how that can be very frustrating, especially if you have been driving for a long time, have children in the car, and it is hot outside. We do our best to keep our home beautiful for our guests and we take great pride in it. This is not a vacation rental to us. It is our home away from home and we appreciate the feedback and strive to always improve. Thank you, April and Bill Sembrat
