This location was a perfect place for everyone. Super clean and had something for everyone. Between the fishing for the boys, jacuzzi for the girls and the quiet nature for those who like to read in peace. The lakeview gave luxury.

Our experience with Destination Big Bear was disappointing from start to finish. I booked through VRBO on purpose because it’s a secure way to pay, but Destination Big Bear required the remaining payments to go through their own payment portal, which didn’t feel secure at all. Their communication was poor throughout the entire process, and when we arrived, the place was dirty, including the dishes. The pots and pans were old, tarnished, and unusable, so the kitchen was a real letdown. There were also no basics like salt and pepper, even though there was a spice rack. Guests should also know that you’re expected to haul out all of your own trash. They don’t take it, even though you pay a cleaning fee.

Host was great, place wasn't very clean unfortunately. Hot water pressure was poor. But otherwise very pleasant to stay! Gilberto was very helpful, we're grateful he was there for us.

Great Location

Overall, we had a great time with family for a quick family getaway. Great location near lake with a beautiful view. The overall cleanliness of the cabin needs some work. The pots and pans were clean despite what one of the prevous reviews stated. The showers a super small and they didn't provide any shampoos other than hand soap. The foundation is slightly slanted which made it uncomfortable to sleep in one of the bedrooms. Nonetheless, we'd stay there again.

Older property, but location and view were fantastic. Beautiful view of the lake with own private dock. Hot tub on deck was very nice and worked great. We also thoroughly enjoyed the pool table. Nothing major, but there were a number of minor things that show the property is not being regularly maintained…Some windows missing screens. Light bulbs missing in fixtures so lighting was poor. Cobwebs all over the exterior of the home. The inside of the home also had cobwebs, some in the middle of the rooms indicating the home was not cleaned properly before our arrival. Many of the surfaces of side tables and windowsills were dusty. Bbq seemed to be nonoperational. The deck area was dirty, covered in pollen with a plate left out there when we arrived. We spent about 15 minutes our first morning cleaning up and knocking down cobwebs. Overall, we had a wonderful relaxing time, but it is a shame they don’t do a better job maintaining.

Was definitely disappointed that we were left with less than 2 rolls of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels. Called property manager on saturday morning to say we were out of TP and there appeared to be none stored there. Thankfully property management had someone come out on saturday and drop off 2 more rolls of TP and some paper towels. Seems to me it should be standard that there would be extra TP at the site in a cupboard somewhere.

Great Location - minus cleanliness

My family and I spent a few days at big bear. The property is in a great location, near the lake and very close to the downtown area. The cabin is large and had plenty of amenities to entertain our family. Some areas to improve is the cleanliness of the cabin, the baseboards were dusty, the doors and counters has dirt stains as well. This was also the case in the bathrooms as well: The pots and pans in the kitchen were greasy and dirty, mainly because they hang over the stover and don’t seem to be part of the cleaning routine. The remotes were also greasy and the carpets throughout stained with what it looked like vomit. The kitchen tile floor didn’t seems to be thoroughly cleaned either. The refrigerator was wobbling and I was concerned it would tip over, it wasn’t secured in place. We made the most of our time there.
