We regret that you had a bad opening to your rental with us! Just to have you be aware, the construction on the condominium complex was to be completed by Memorial Day! Believe me, we are just as frustrated with the progress of the construction! However, the reason for the extended construction of the entire building is imperative for the safety of all of the renters. There were some imperfections found on the build/construction side of the building that needed to be addressed and the work was started in September 2022. We have had renters booked every weekend since May 20th. Everyone did express that the outside grounds area was not ideal. However, they were very understanding as they knew this was totally out of our control! As far as your particular stay, when the renters checked out on July 9th, our cleaner came in and did a full clean! So, what happened was that the construction crew came in after that but prior to your stay moved and protected the furniture with plastic and continued to work on the trim around the windows which created the dust that you mention. The plastic on the windows is to keep the windows protected during the construction. This particular construction was not communicated to us! We offered to have our cleaner come back that day to do an additional clean and give you a discount OR give you a full refund. Fortunately, you were able to find a different place to stay in which we then gave you your full refund. We do hope that you were able to enjoy all the beauty, relaxation and enjoyment that Okaboji has to offer despite this inconvenience!
