Restoration of the ocean front of the Papakea seawall is currently underway. While the work occurs on sections of the seawall, guests will be able to enjoy the resort amenities and areas during the work.

With 13 acres, you can enjoy the sparkling waves from the oceanfront lawn areas on the opposite side of the property or wander by the Koi ponds. Relax by one of the 2 pools, each with spa, cabana and multiple individual BBQ areas. For active fun, play a game of tennis, pickle ball, shuffleboard, or put your skills to the test on the putting greens.

Noise and fumes: Noise will be heard primarily in the buildings fronting the work. At times a distance noise can be heard throughout the resort from the work. The noise will be generated from the drilling of the seawall and adjacent in-ground areas. There will be breaks in between drilling while other work is occurring. Some diesel run equipment will also generate some noise as well as diesel fumes in the direct area of the equipment.

Views/Access: Views from the ocean front units fronting the work will be restricted. A fence barrier will surround the work area, affecting the direct views of primarily the ground floor units. Equipment and works can be seen from the units when the work is front a building. Black barrier cloths on the fence barrier will only be used in certain locations as needed. Ground floor lanais (where work is in front of the building) will have a narrow lawn access front the lanai. Other than a staging area in one of the tennis courts, a construction staging area is located in the parking lot immediately front the A building. Full access is provided to the buildings and entry/exits for the property.

Work hours: M-F 8am to 5pm

Weekends-No work is scheduled for weekends, but if required notices will be provided.

Holidays: No work on Thanksgiving 11/24-11/25, Christmas 12/24-12/26, New Year 12/31-1/2.

Schedule-Schedule subject to being re-evaluated based upon work flow. Existing conditions (especially unseen conditions) & ocean conditions can affect the schedule and order of work.

We are a family of 5! We absolutely LOVE our time at Papakea. One of our greatest moments on Maui was when we dove as a family for the first time! This was taken near Papakea- great diving! We love to swim in the ocean, snorkel, dive, boogie board, fish and go boating. These are treasured family memories! We hope you choose Papakea K303 to create your own family memories! They are priceless! And the turtles, fish and rainbows are free!

Why Julie chose West Maui

Everyone who has visited Maui has a favorite spot. I lived on Maui in the historic harbor town of Lahaina right out of college for a year of fun in the sun. West Maui has always been my favorite because you have the beautiful West Maui mountains and the incredible Pacific ocean to view. West Maui is more lush than South Maui. So when we went looking for a condo, we toured most every property from Kapalua to Wailea and we just loved the low key feeling of Papakea. It has one of the largest number of acres for the fewest number of units on the Island. NO lines to be found anywhere! It has a great Aloha feeling without the crowds and rush. This is how Hawaii is supposed to feel!

What makes this condo unique

Walk to the fun and funky coffee shop across the street or to the farmers market up a few blocks. Rent boogie boards at the local shop for 3 or 4 dollars a day. Go to the Fish Market for some fresh sushi or sashimi. You feel more like a local than a tourist in our neighborhood!

We have stayed at the Papakea for 5 years in a row. Depending on how much family is able to go we have stayed in a 3 bedroon - 2-2 bedrooms and 3-1 bedrooms. Prior to this we have always had Oceanfront so we were leery of this location - however after staying in K303 we decided this view was even better than just ocean. We could see the pool & cabana the bar-b-ques along with a beautiful view of the Ocean. The pictures are accurate and a good reflections of the unit. You can hear the ocean while sitting on the balcony ~ ahhhhhh. The unit was fully stocked (especially the kitchen) more than most of the prior units we have stayed. Plenty of linens and comfortable beds (which was a plus). We had 2 couples and it seemed like we had plenty of room and privacy. I would definetely stay in K303 again. The owner Julie was easy to work with and responded quickly to any inquiries I had. ALOHA & Mahalo

View is everything!

This perfect condo served for 5 of us during exceptional 11 days vacation. Well equipped - we had everything we needed. Beds are very comfortable. We really enjoyed staying so close to the ocean and being able to listen the sound of waves. Papakea resort is so clean, staff is helpful and friendly. But the most important for me is one million dollar view that this condo offers. Thanks for allowing us to stay here. Thank you for all smooth communications. May God bless you!

Desirable Location & Amenities!

From the time we booked with Julie (9 months before we travelled) to our actual stay, we had a fabulous experience! Julie was always prompt with answering questions. She advised us of some reno work done to the sea wall during our stay and gave us a a sizeable rebate on our stay - some owners were not providing this so we r grateful Julie did this for us. The condo itself was great - everything u could need for a week! The lanai door and screen was very hard to open and when we advised Julie it was repaired within a few days - they even installed a new screen door - kudos to the maintenance staff. Loved how close we were to ABC store and the Times Grocery - just walk across the street. Great pool, barbecues and putting range on site. Check out craft beers at the Maui Brewing Co. just down the street. Central to everything! We booked some excursions through Expedia who provided a 1 hour welcome talk at Papakea Resort which were well priced. We bought groceries at Costco on our way to the condo and cooked most bites at the condo (fresh Mahi Mahi) and only ate out twice at the Old Lahaina Luau ( book it early ) and our last nite at Fleetwoods in Lahaina (Mick Fleetwoods Restaurant) on their Rooftop Bar overlooking the ocean - Devine! Loved Papakea K303! The pics on vrbo r exactly how the condo looks including the view!!

Vacation in paradise

This was my first time using VRBO and what a wonderful experience. The owner was very prompt in replying to my initial email to confirm that my desired dates were available. Once I committed, everything from that point on was a breeze. After my booking, the owner was kind enough to notify me that she had just learned there would be some work taking place in the condo complex on the seawall that may or may not affect our stay. She offered me a full refund with no loss of fees if I didn't want to take the chance of being disturbed by the workers. If I decided to chance it, she offered me a discount for the inconvenience which I thought was very kind. Then once my final payment was made I received complete, simple driving and check-in instructions, as well as tips for shopping and dining. This unit was very well equipped with the necessities of a home. It was clean, updated, and the view was breathtaking. The condo complex is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are elevators for convenience and rolling luggage carts so getting all of our stuff to the upper floor was possible all in one trip. We did our shopping at the Safeway in Lahaina only to discover that the grocery store right across the street from the Condo complex was comparable in pricing and a much quicker option. There are BBQ's around the pool and just below this unit, so our preference for dinner was to BBQ, and eat out on the lenai where we could enjoy a million dollar view. I give this rental 5 stars and would highly suggest it to anyone visiting Maui. If you are in the process of considering it, my only advice is to book it before it gets away! It's a beautiful place to spend your vacation.

Loved our stay at Papakea K303!

What a great condo!! We very much enjoyed having K303 as our home base for 8 days in Maui. We have been to Maui a dozen times and stayed at many of the hotels and condos along the Kaanapali strip, but none of our other accommodations came close to the gorgeous view and grounds of Julie's condo. The view out the lanai was straight out of a postcard! We whale watched every day from the lanai. We loved having a full kitchen and washer/dryer since we had the kids with us this time. Kids loved the pool (ok - so did the adults!) and I loved that I could watch from the lanai. The Koi ponds were another hit with the little ones. Beach access is a short walk away, and we enjoyed driving to other local beaches, too. The resort was quiet and well maintained. We loved it a lot!

Julie was easy to work with and her condo was lovely and clean! We would absolutely love to stay here again and have recommended this particular unit to family and friends.

Great 25th in Maui !

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by returning to Hawaii and bringing our 4 adult children. I had discussed our plans with Julie and she assured me her place would accommodate us nicely. Papakea #303 turned out to be perfect for our vacation. As represented, it was spacious, clean, and had many updates that made our stay easier and more comfortable. It served as a good base for the many activities we did but also has all of the basic needs (alcohol, coffee, shaved ice, etc) stores within close walking distance. We would highly recommend this property for anyone's Maui vacation.
