This VRBO worked great for our week long stay. We had a golf cart too and that was fun. We rode it around the neighborhood and up to the general store. Very convenient!! Great price and good amenities.

There were ant's in the kitchen and bath area. No heat, and the kpod coffee maker did not work and after many request when they said they would bring one they did not. Also had a hard time getting the key to work on the golf cart and the brakes are bad on it.
The resort is nice. Gorgeous sunsets at the "beach". Camper was clean and well kept. Kitchen had full stove/oven & fridge. Zero kitchen dish clothes & only one dish towel. No containers for leftovers & no toaster. They did have a toaster oven but a little inconvenient. Outdoor area was very nice. This camper sits on the back of the resort so very isolated & little traffic. Both garbage and recycling were full when we got there. No clear instructions on what the expectation is to "set it out" on the day they pick things up. We contacted the host regarding the golf cart & it was the next day before we heard back. Even then it wasnt clear on which one we could use. Had keys for one that didnt work & the other one we thought we didn't have keys for ended up being in the trailer hanging up. Other than that it was a great vacation & would be fine staying here again.
I brought the kids down for spring break. The location was perfect. The home was well maintained. We really enjoyed our trip. The community pool and hammocks were awesome on morning walk. I got to see some manatees.
The location was very convenient for scuba diving. The RV was clean and in good condition.
We could not find our Lot number which prevented our check-in. This was infuriating after a long drive from PA to FL. Getting someone on the phone with Expedia and Vrbo to resolve this simple issue was a very poor experience. This is a problem with Expedia and Vrbo, not the RV owner/host.
Check in was a little bit of a problem. No site address was sent with the arrival information and we arrived after 4pm. The office closed at 4pm. Security handles checkin after 4 and had a tough time finding the unit. Other than that the place was great and the campground facility was very good also. We enjoyed our stay very much with lots of great places to eat nearby.

Location Location Location
The best part about this property is the location. If you don’t have a boat, I’m not sure what you would do here. The mobile home was well kept and the outdoor porch space was very nice. The property manager was excellent and responsive. Fair warning though, people staying in this park like to party. We were woken up at 5am on Sunday from extremely loud music that went on for 3 hours. People also often drove by late at night playing loud music. This is not the owners fault!!! We still had a lovely time taking our boat out and making a few meals in the trailer.

Good location
We stayed here as a central location to south Florida and the keys.
The full size shower was great and had great water pressure!! The sleeping situation however was less than ideal. The ‘couches’ to sleep on are about 1 foot too short for the average 5’6 human and were horribly uncomfortable. The bed in the ‘master’ was okay but on wheels so moved constantly, so unable to sleep 2 people there.
We didn’t use the kitchen at all to cook or prepare food so can’t speak to that area.
We ended up leaving a day early to be closer to our airport and to get some decent sleep. That said, the camp ground was quiet and clean and the golf cart was great fun to drive around the camp grounds!
If you are a small party of 1 or 2 people this place could work good for you! Squeezing 4 full size humans into this place wasn’t ideal however. Lol. Live and learn!

Dear Tammy, I'm so sorry that our cozy place did not work for you. I had replied to you when you had sent the inquiry and mentioned the futon was small and only for one person. I wish you the best on your next vacation for the Keys.
First thing my friend went to wash her hands at the kitchen sink and the handle wasn’t even attached. Contacted the host and she just said you can get the water to work. We will fix it after you leave. They have a big cockroach problem and contacted host and she said that’s what you get down in Florida and she would let pest control know. Ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. Told she has no way of getting some to us until after we are gone. Told to purchase ourselves and we would be reimbursed 30. I have not seen that reimbursement. I absolutely HATE to have to give a bad review but I would want to know what I was getting into before I paid all that money. Just trying to help someone else.

Hi Elaine,
We appreciate your feedback and it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay with us. To respond to your review - We tried multiple times to have someone come and fix the sink during your stay however we were told that you were not at the unit and needed to reschedule. The additional requested items such as toilet paper and paper towels were ordered and delivered during your stay. We always try to make sure that we provide an adequate stock of these basic essentials in the unit prior to arrival. Unfortunately, in the Keys, pests are more prone during certain times of the year which is why we have a pest control company who goes out on a monthly basis to maintain the upkeep of the unit. You are correct that the issue was taken care prior to your departure as we were not able to spray while the unit was occupied. We apologies for the inconveniences that you had during your stay as we strive to make each and every stay as enjoyable as possible to our renters.

Slightly okay
Very confined area. Difficult to find. Many roaches, insects. Be careful booking with these people!! Many things at this place are broken or halfway glued together and they are pretending that they’re not! The stairs that lead up to the house? They have hand knobs on them that are held together with small wire instead of more permanent fasteners. My son almost fell off the stairs when one came loose when he held onto it for support walking up the stairs!
The “master” bed is permanently slammed down at the feet and metal parts of the bed frame stick out and always hit your shins!
Then, as if that’s not enough, they charge you extra saying that YOU broke their stuff (the handrail) when it was set up to be dangerous and fall off! Very underhanded hosts.
Marlene was exceptional. We reported problem with Wi-Fi & tv as well as kitchen air conditioning and she contacted us back right away. However the kitchen ac never worked . She said bedroom ac should cool entire unit. It did not for us making the sitting area warm in the afternoon. The futon / sofas were uncomfortable! We play all day but like to relax in the evenings. We could not find a comfort level . My husband looked like a giant on a kids sofa. We enjoyed the golf cart & the screened porch. It has a nice out door grill but only 2 pots making it difficult to prepare a full meal easily. Again the place is clean & well maintained but we were just too warm & uncomfortable inside. We also regret that we didn’t choose a place with cable tv - streaming tv for us is difficult & only fire tv channels & free apps are available. In the future we want a place with cable for sure. Enjoyed the keys & the campground but will look for something else next time. Again Marlene is great and she tried to walk us through kitchen ac but it would never cool. She sent us a new fire stick for local news .
We loved our stay at Calusa. The property was very clean, well stocked, more private than other homes in the same area. Very quiet street with no neighbors in front of you. It was the perfect location for us to go explore all of the Keys. The Calusa staff was always friendly and helpful. The property manager was exceptional and was always quick to reply to us. They were also extremely accommodating when we had to reschedule our trip. Communication was the best we'd ever had with a vacation rental. There are endless things to do in the Keys!! We can't wait to come back this winter with my folks. Highly recommend.
Everything was great. Really only good sleeping accommodations for 2. Nice Queen size bed. 2 small fold down couches for others, not very comfortable. Nice bath with full size shower. Only bummer was fridge. Smelled like fish badly. Suggest separate freezer for guests to store Chum and fish.
