The Drooly Bear is a secluded log cabin getaway in the woods. Just a few miles from Trough Creek State Park Headquarters, this rustic, romantic vacation destination will allow you to escape the rat race and enjoy each other, your family, and nature.

As you decompress on the deck, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods. If it's raining, enjoy the sound of the rain as it falls while you sit in the swing under the covered portion of the deck. If it's chilly, go inside and get cozy near the wood burning stove or play a game or two in The Loft.

Get your exercise by hiking the numerous trails in Trough Creek State Park or playing at Raystown Lake. Enjoy fine dining at Mimi's in Huntingdon (about 35 minutes away) or grab a sandwich at a local sandwich stop or country store.

Whether it's a family vacation, a reunion of friends, or a romantic weekend, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet away from every day life and be able to rest, relax, and recharge. Come and enjoy the Drooly Bear.

Great place, but check the details.

  • 5 of 5

This place is absolutely gorgeous, but make sure you have the details. It says it sleeps 12; it has a king bed, a queen bed, a bunk bed, pull out couch double, a single bed, a trundle, and we found 2 mattresses in the closet. Also, beware that the access road is dirt, and can get extremely rocky and full of holes. If you’re looking for the ultimate “middle of nowhere retreat” this is your place.

The cabin is beautiful, it has all the amenities you need, and the scenery is great.

Host was communicative. Cabin was as-advertised: woodsy, cute, lots of space for a group, complete kitchen, etc. We never did quite get the wood fired stove set up, but the central heating was warm enough. We came out on a snowy weekend so the roads nearby were a bit tricky, but nothing careful driving couldn't address.

Very welcoming rustic peaceful cabin

Within half hour drive to other towns.

Lots of wildlife. The cabin is absolutely amazing. Really wished for more snow to relax by the huge wood stove. Overall this place is beautiful and cozy
