Do NOT book this property - it is a fraud. The location listed on Expedia is not accurate. The owner is aware of this and did not disclose that information prior to our arrival. It is over a 20 minute walk away from the location show on the Expedia listing (once you book, you are given the exact location and the location provided is not accurate). Do not book this apartment!

Voller Reinfall
Rauchmelder fehlen.

Excellent stay!
Used this as a home base while visiting Italy and it worked out fabulously. Older neighborhood, but they all are in Rome. Close to shopping, food and the bar(bakery)on the end of the building was a must stop everyday for fresh baked goods. Everyone in the neighborhood was so nice and helpful, even with the language barrier. There is graffiti everywhere on the streets, but never felt uncomfortable walking the neighborhood at any hour of the day. Apartment was small, but worked for what we needed, especially the AC for the hot 2 weeks that we stayed. With the train and bus system right around the corner, you can get anywhere in the downtown area in a short time. Gianmarco worked with us to get in to the apartment even after the flight was delayed and we arrived at 1 am. If your visiting and planning on being out sightseeing, this is the perfect place to come back to relax and rest for the next adventure.

Perfect location and convenient
The apartment was clean, pretty and well taken care of. It's close to all public transportation, great restaurants, and shopping. There's a yummy bakery/cafe right downstairs. The owner met me to help with check-in and showing me where everything. He was very friendly and helpful. Great place!

Great Stay
Gianmarco is an easy excellent host. We were able to walk every where and it was easy to take the train to the airport. Rome is not a quiet city but it certainly was quieter than the touristy areas. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The Southern Tip of Trastevere
I stayed at Gianicolense in early December. Gianmarco is a very responsive host. He carried my suitcase up and down the stairs, called a taxi for me, quickly fixed most problems that occured. Gianmarco's attention to his guests is the best thing about this apartment. The description of the apartment is not totally accurate in condition and location. The apartment has 'good bones' = good layout, great walk in closet w w/d, great heat, strong wifi. The building is relatively quiet. The apartment has not been 'recently' renovated. It once was, but it has had a lot of traffic and wear and tear since it was renovated. The photo does not tell the real story. The counter and floor are worn in places. The paint on the walls is badly marked in the kitchen and some in the living room. The kitchen faucet is dented in 3 places. There are only a few small dishes. Some cups have cracks in them, the freezer badly needs defrosting. The shower head and shower door need to be replaced. The shower sprayed water everywhere but on me. The shower door came off its hinges and was unusuable. The neighborhood is not the Trastevere I was expecting. The apartment is located over 1 mile from Trastevere's center, and is on the southern edge of the district. It's a 10 minute walk over the bridge to Testaccio. It's southern Rome. The neighborhood is borderline safe. You can only get to the apartment by way of an alley - and it's not a quick walk. I felt unsafe going down that alley after dark so I did not go out at night. The halls of the apartment building are dirty, dingy, and dark. The view out of every apartment window is an abandoned building with grafitti on the building and the yellow alley walls. This is not a good place for solo women travellers. I seriously doubt the rave reviews this apartment has gotten. (Most reviews are a few years old.) If you want an apartment that has seen some heavy traffic, is located on the very lower edge of Trastevere, and not in the beautiful Trastevere district, don't mind that your apartment is located off an alley full of graffiti, only have views of abandoned buildings & graffiti , and don't mind the edginess of the neighborhood, then this is the place for you.

Great Roman Holiday
Gianmarco is a great host with a lot of care for his guests. It's a clean apartment and well provisioned. The breakfast food provided was lovely and the coffee doubly so. We recommend skipping the steps and walking out the train station and past the tram stop to take a right down the hill on the sidewalk if you packed heavily (we had a lot of winter gear with us!). Also don't forget some travel soap!

Nice place to stay!
This condo is very convenient to trams and trains (tram #8 takes you to Piazza Venizia in about 20 minutes). The bed was very comfy and the tiny kitchen provides a sink, 2 burners, 2 types of coffee makers, a small fridge and a small microwave/convection oven. Plates, some cooking utensils, cleaning supplies and paper towels awaited us. This kitchen was great for breakfasts- but didn't think it would be easy for making dinners. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee/ bakery shops and food markets nearby. There fold out king size hide-a-bed was very comfy. The A.C. worked well. The washer dryer combo was nice until it needed a repair. Gianmarco (owner)was very responsive to this and any questions or concerns. It is up 1 flight of stairs (called the first floor) without an elevator- so is not handicap accessible. The door into the building is off an alley- so I would not have felt that safe at night entering if I had been alone. It was pretty quiet and the owner kindly provided a basket of snack food and some bottled water and soda in the fridge. The shower (off the bedroom) has no soap dish or place to put shampoo bottles- which was akward. We bought a suction-on soap dish which was not very good. There are lots of folders with helpful info about Rome with maps and tour books as well as regular books. There was a TV with cable in the bedroom and living room ( had International BBC and CNBC). All in all it was a comfortable place to stay (stayed 2 weeks) and Gianmarco was wonderful to deal with.

Great place for city transit
This apartment is budget friendly and close to attractions of you are ok taking the transit system. If you are expecting to walk out your door to have many options to eat and explore I recommend you stay closer to the core. We had an elderly with us so had to take a taxi to anything of interest. The apartment was clean and owners accommodating but I had wished we stayed walking distance to the best areas. There is a great cafe on the corner open late night and early morning. Staying the last two weeks of August most shops in the area were closed. This is more of a local neighborhood. 3 of us stayed here comfortably and felt safe.

Our trip to Rome
We rented Gianmarco's place in Rome for a girls trip. We had lots of fun and were very satisfied in this apartment. It was very close to public transportation, markets and we even found a great restaurant a couple blocks away. If you are staying here the only thing I advise is to clarify the exact address before your trip so you are prepared. There was some confusion on this, and after a long day of travel you want to have all your ducks in a row.

This apartment has everything you will ever need. Even free coffee and a little something for breakfast. Perfect for 2 couples. Very clean and close to everywhere we needed to go. There’s a restaurant called Maximum nearby that’s soooo delicious! and a donut shop downstairs. Overall, the place is very convenient. I highly recommend it.

Convenient Location & Beautiful Apartment
Transit options abound to quickly get you anywhere you need to go in Rome. There were three of us but it never felt cramped. The market on Sunday is only a block away and offers anything your heart desires. Try the gelato at Cu Cu Chu - it is divine. Gianmarco and his wife provided a warm welcome and were very responsive during our visit. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful apartment
We stayed in this apartment at the beginning of June. It really is a lovely place, very comfortable. The proximity to the train station is great if you are coming in on the train. The apartment is within walking distance to all attractions if you like to walk, if not the public transportation is easily accessed. Gianmarco was great, gave us lots of good tips and his restaurant recommendations were excellent. We also appreciated having milk and juice stocked in the fridge. We would highly recommend this apartment if you planning a trip to Rome.

Great apartment right by transport
Gianmarco's apartment is a great, modern apartment for a few people to stay for a while just outside the city center of Rome. Perfect for two people, definitely possible with more, but may feel a bit more crowded. Nights were very quiet and relaxing, hardly any sound came in from outside the whole time we were there. Restaraunts in the area seem very authentic and serve up some great food and service. Transport into the city was quite easy, Gianmarco supplied plenty of directions on the best way to get to the key landmarks as well, which was a big help. Everything in the apartment worked very well including the washer/dryer and mini-fridge. Gianmarco could not have been a better host for us, leaving us to our devices after answering any questions. He even left us snacks and drinks in the fridge upon our arrival which was a great touch. Definitely would recommend for anyone needing a quieter neighborhood with easy public transport into the city for sightseeing

Gianmarco's apartment is super convenient to train, shopping, restaurants, shopping and church. The flight of stairs is navigable, and check in was easy - once we called Gianmarco! The comfortable couch and sleeping made for a comfortable place to relax with feet up after a long day in the city.

Comfortable apartment and very responsive owner
Gianmarco's apartment looks exactly like the photos. The location was very handy being right next to Trastevere Station. It is really easy to get to from the airport. We like to walk, and were able to do so from this location, but if you are not a good walker, then the tram or buses are convenient. The owner recommended a wonderful local restaurant and had easy to follow written instructions explaining the best way to get to the important sights in Rome. This is a relatively quiet part of Trastevere. We appreciated the groceries and wine that were left for us. Comfortable bed and very clean. Would stay here again.

Hi, My name is Gianmarco. I am the owner of some apartments in Rome and I work to accommodate travelers who need quality accommodation for a short time . I love this job because give me the chance to meet many people from all parts of the world and sometimes I can make real friendships.

Why they chose this property

The accommodation is very comfortable with every detail finished in fine furniture of high quality(made in Italy). All designed and created to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Ideal for those wishing to visit Rome on foot and is very well connected by public transport, you can reach the airport of Fiumicino in just 20 minutes by city train(FR1)

What makes this property unique

The Trastevere area resembles a traditional Southern-Italian village with narrow and winding cobblestone streets. Many visitors like to stay in a Rome apartment in the Trastevere area because of its dining, entertainment and cultural opportunities. It is a great place to spend all day walking and soaking up Italian living. Many tourists feel that this is the closest you can get to real Rome.
