## Emplacement
Calvados seaside resort, in the Normandy region, Courseulles-sur-Mer is located on the shores of the English Channel, about twenty kilometers from Caen and its Memorial. The small town is located in the heart of the Côte de Nacre, not far from Bernières-sur-Mer, Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer or Fontaine-Henry and its castle.

Populated since the Gallo-Roman era, as evidenced by the Roman coins found on the site, the city of Courseulles-sur-Mer was especially famous in history during the Second World War and the Landfall. On 6 June 1944, the beaches of the commune were part of the Juno Beach sector, taken by Canadian troops. First port liberated in Normandy, it has experienced an important activity until the creation of the artificial port of Arromanches a little further on the coast.

Having now regained its calm, Courseulles-sur-Mer, which was immortalized the time of a song by singer Oldelaf, is appreciated by tourists for its charm, its beaches, but also its architectural and historical heritage. It is an excellent point of attachment to discover the most beautiful sites in the department or the neighboring Manche.
