About Russ and Kay Myers

We fell in love with the lake the first time we visited and knew we wanted to live there someday. We hope to someday after our children are through college. Since we live a short drive away we steal away every chance we can to be there.

Russ and Kay Myers purchased this house in 2008

Why Russ and Kay Myers chose New London

We chose this location on the lake because it is located directly across from the Uwharrie National Forest with an untouched and beautiful view.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I came here for our first time away, just the two of us, since the birth of our son 1.5 years ago! We needed the getaway and this was the perfect spot! We weren't looking to do anything "touristy", just relax! A beautiful and meticulously clean home with gorgeous views was what we got! My husband loved the fishing off the dock, we even did some fishing at night. We enjoyed the canoe and just relaxing/reading on the dock; hammock or screen porch. We enjoyed a couple dinners out at some local places, my husband especially liked the catfish dinner at Badin Lake Restaurant! The grill at the house made it easy to stay put and make dinner, too! Kay and Russ were easy to work with and warmly welcomed us. The house had everything we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Everything was just as stated on the website/contract, even better! We look forward to coming back soon!

Very relaxing and peaceful with plenty to do!

  • 5 of 5

The back screened in porch is my favorite spot in the whole house! I sat out there just about all day long relaxing and reading my book. The weather was perfect! Trails all over to hike and only 30 min from the zoo, which you should check out if you get the chance. I can’t forget the hot tub. It came in handy for the chilly nights and if you turn the lights off and only have the hot tub light on, you can see the silhouette of the nearby islands And all the stars. We will definitely be back!

Restful, peaceful. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway that provided a peaceful, restful environment, complete with hot tub. This lake house proved to be just the ticket. Kay's and Russ' description of their home is spot-on. It's easy to locate and has ample parking. Amazingly clean and tidy, kitchen extremely well-stocked (everything we needed/wanted - and then some! - at our fingertips), comfy furnishings indoors and out, great views, and a wonderful hot tub. We enjoyed watching the many birds - around the property and on the water.

Kay and Russ responded to our rather last-minute reservation request in a very timely matter and provided all necessary information for both getting to the location and what to expect once we arrived. They were readily available by phone/text once we completed the reservation. The porch light was on in case we arrived after dark. We also received a great list of local information regarding food, activities, etc.

I wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return for another visit.

Thank you for sharing this lovely lake house!

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Great spot to get away from it all and relax. Beautiful views of the lake, very well kept home and very clean. We took our own boat and really got to enjoy the lake for a long weekend. Couldn't have asked for much more.

Thank you!

Peaceful place to spend a long weekend.

  • 5 of 5

Had the opportunity to stay at this wonderful spot for a long weekend in late September. Absolutely loved our stay, the owners have thought of everything. We spent most of the weekend relaxing on the dock and in the screened in porch which has an amazing view of the lake and surrounding area. Will absolutely be back and highly recommend the spot.
