THE PERCH-Beach Cottage- FREE GOLF CART-Just Minutes from the Gulf/BEACH!

Your beach vacation can be as relaxed or as action packed as you choose at this cozy 1962 beach retreat. The Perch, the upper (main cottage) level of Heron House, is located in a quiet neighborhood at the less crowded west end of Panama City Beach. This location is far enough away from Pier Park and 30A to avoid the crowds, but it is just a short drive to these popular locations and many more! This relaxed beach house has been fully updated in a way that preserves its vintage charm. You will also be 0.2 mile or 1.5 blocks from the sugar sand beach of Laguna Beach. With the golf cart provided for FREE, it takes just moments to get from the house to the beach. You will find that this cottage has vintage charm with all the modern conveniences to make your stay one to remember. You will sleep on all new mattresses and enjoy the newly updated furnishings and calm relaxing vibes provided by the updated decor. You can dine and make family memories on the huge deck with seating for 6. Kitchen amenities, sand toys, beach towels, and (4) beach chairs are all provided, so that you don't have to worry about the small details. Just bring your swim suit, a cold drink, and sunblock and you will be ready to embark on a relaxing day at the beach. The upper unit is completely private and separate from the lower unit which is being used as a long term rental.
Note: 1st floor unit is occupied by our maintenance manager (single man in his 80’s) and is not a vacation rental. He is is happy to help if you need anything, but will otherwise keep to himself. The golfcart and backyard are for your use only. They are not shared.

When parking the golfcart use the steering wheel lock to prevent theft. Also make sure to return it to its parking spot at night and charge it.

Clean and comfortable. The front porch deck is great outdoor space. We enjoyed walking the neighborhoods of Laguna Beach. Just a short walk to the incredible white sand beach. Erica and Rollie are friendly, helpful hosts.

Was a great place to stay! Everything worked well and it was easy to get to from all directions. Besides, where else can you see more than 50 birds at once in PCB? My wife will likely be back.

Updated vintage charm

This property is adorable. Plenty of clean, vintage charm with modern updates. Our family especially enjoyed the proximity to the beach, comfortable beds and golf cart. Owner was super easy to communicate with and having a friendly caretaker on site was very helpful. This home provided everything we needed for a fun and relaxing vacation.

Great stay

I would stay here again. We had everything we needed. I didn't know the laundry was down stairs in a detached building/ shed. It wasn't a problem for us but may be for other people. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and the golf cart. You are able to park the golf cart at any of the public beach accesses, and it takes maybe two minutes to get to the closest one.

Very relaxing and soooo close to beachl

Having the golf cart to use was the icing on the cake. We used it to go to the beach, the Carosel grocery store and ridingaround Laguna Beach. House has a beachy retro vibe. Beds are comfy. Kitchen has just about anything I needed to cook meals. The property manager, Rollie, was helpful, friendly and fun to talk to. We loved the quiet west end but appreciated the short ride to PCB for restaurants and entertainment. Would stay again.

Great place for a getaway!

This was a great place to spend a week at the beach. Communication with Erica was easy and quick for everything we needed ahead of our stay and once we arrived. The beds are very nice.. one kinda firm, one kinda soft. The front porch was a great hang out spot for the evenings, we even got to watch a little storm pass through one night. The GOLF CART was a lifesaver. I basically parked my car at the first of the week and we just took the little cart everywhere from Thomas's donuts, the carousel grocery, the beach and just cruising in general. The only drawbacks are it only has one bathroom and I'm pretty sure the fan in there is also a heater, it's right behind a teen Christian summer camp, and the golf cart is not the most powerful one I've ever driven. Overall great property for 2-4 people!!! We loved our stay!

As I told Rollie, the best part of our stay was getting to know Rollie. Couple of comments: The renovations to the apartment were excellent. The atmosphere was very quiet. The futon couch was not comfortable to sit on. We could not get the TV in the main room to come on; there was no local / national channels. For us, it was difficult to move the tall chairs under the dinette table. As pointed out to Rollie, we had issues with the golf cart maintaining speed and issues with the gas and brake pedals. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Adorable rental, great location, very quiet

Updated, super clean, spacious second-floor rental unit with high ceilings in a quiet neighborhood. My husband, teenage son, and I stayed for a week. Fantastic outdoor spaces: one out front with a six-person dining table and chairs plus two lounge chairs, one out back with two lounge chairs and a hammock. Laundry is in a locked building in the backyard of the property. Well-kept outdoor basketball court with balls provided about a block away (my sporty teenager loved this!), and the beach is about 1.5 blocks away. Golf cart provided is old and not fast, but adequate for getting to the Carousel grocery store (fantastic store with friendly staff -- GREAT wine selection!) and beach -- note that the forward/reverse gear switch is down where your knees meet the seat (took us a while to figure this out and there were no instructions). Kitchen pots/pans/utensils could use a refresh (especially frying pans), but we made due. There is a drip coffeemaker provided, but you need to bring your own filters and coffee. Plenty of pillows/blankets, beach towels, and beach chairs provided, and there is a cooler out in the laundry building. Looked everywhere for a binder with house rules/instructions but couldn't find one -- would be a nice addition, especially if it included recommendations for nearby activities and restaurants. All in all, a wonderful stay and we'd rent it again!

Perched on the porch

Nice throw back beach home to when times were simpler. Neighborhood setting with a mix of new and old. Golf cart makes it easy to take in the surroundings at a leisurely pace. Downstairs tenant very nice and ez to find when needed. Property has a quaint fire ring that further carries the laid back vibe.

I highly recommend this property. Communication was excellent. Pictures are accurate. Rollie was amazing. He asked if we needed anything. It was nice having someone on site to ask any questions to and if we had anything wrong he was right there. We enjoyed getting to know him. Beach is super close and easy to get to.

The Perch was exactly as described, nice quiet location With the addition of the golf cart you can be on the white sand beaches in 3-4 minutes. Our family enjoyed enjoyed our time there.

Perfect house in great location

The house was spotless, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was excellent. Quiet neighborhood and just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Erica was a pleasure to work with and very prompt with communication. My wife and I loved this house. We will definitely be back.
