Great property! Clean and spacious- the pool was perfect for our family. Walking distance to the beach. Quick drive into downtown. Would definitely rent again - great communication with property owners from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Fam Vacation

We enjoyed the home, very cozy, walking distance to the beach not a problem and a very nice quiet neighborhood not a lot of traffic. And easy to get around in the Saint Augustine area.

Family Spring Break Weekend

This beach house was perfectly suited for our long family weekend during our spring break to Florida. Butler beach was ideal (not too busy) for our little kiddos trying to build sandcastles and boogie board in the surf. The house was a short walk to the beach. It had everything we needed for a filled family weekend

Great updates house and location.

House was very nice, good location to the beach and updated furnishings. Pool and patio were very nice. I would recommend getting the pool heated which we did. We had 3 families and it was a nice size for us.

Wonderful Property

We had a great stay here! The large kitchen table, front porch swings, quantity of bath and beach towels, and enclosed pool were some of our favorite features. There was a hiccup with the baby package items being left in a locked closet, but property management was very prompt in their response. We hope to stay here again soon!

Great vacation house

We had three families come from across the US and everyone loved the house. Great space and a fantastic location. The walk to the beach was easy and the pool was refreshing when we needed it. The common space in the house was great for the 10 of us and we loved sitting on the upstairs porch and swings. Would definitely recommend this house. Communication was great with the property management and the whole stay was easy and fun!

The house was very nice with lots of room for our group of 9 to spread out. We did have some issues such as no WiFi & an ant infestation. The property management company was quick to respond & get our problems taken care of. The private pool was great & we loved that it was a short walk to the beach. The furniture does show some wear & a few of the outdoor cushions need to be replaced but the beds were comfy & the house was clean.

St Augustine Rose

Beautiful home. Enjoyed spening time with my children and grandchildren. We have family in the area that we visit, so it makes it more special. A lot of stairs, would have been nice to use the elevator.

Family holiday with kids and grandkids

The property was amazing, we loved our stay. Very nice location, close to the beach and amazing sunset and sunrise from the top balcony. Kitchen fully stocked with things to cook a good meal. Pool was great. We had a nice vacation with our three kids, their spouses and 5 grandchildren. Feedback: Bunk beds are double sized beds and couches look like they pull out but the property management staff said they are not pullout couches.

Gorgeous view and convenient location

The house was nice. Some things needed some attention but overall was great. The weather was cold for the beach so we thought the pool would come in handy but it was also too cold. Some miscommunication with the property owners contributed. Make sure correspondence with them has been made before your trip. Short walk to beach that was not crowed at all. Beds were comfy. Overall great experience.

Overall was ok but property management didn't have correct code for checking in, broken things in the home and just overall way too worn down and not upkept.

Perfect Beach Getaway

This house was PERFECT for a getaway with our friends and family. With 6 adults and 3 kids, there was more than enough space to spread out and not feel cramped. We didn’t have to share bathrooms, the kitchen had plenty of space fo cook and gather, and we had so many location options to lounge and relax. The pool was perfect for the kids- they would have just been content playing there for the entire stay haha! The beach is EASILY accessed by foot..when they say 4 minute walk, they mean it. And it’s a big beautiful white sandy beach to play and catch some sun. We had everything we needed, and the house is SO close to everything. Only a 15 min drive to historic St Augustine, plenty of grocery options, restaurants, and everything in between just minutes away. We had so much fun and it was exactly what we hoped for.

This house needs some work. All indoor and outdoor cushions are dirty/worn and need to be replaced. All indoor rugs need to be replaced. The stove has no markings left so you have to guess low/high and what burner the knobs are for. Lots of random things scattered in the pantry. Windows are dirty - see pic. There is no exterior lighting by the pool/firepit so you are in the dark. Also hard to get out there, so you end up not using it as much. The pool also looks larger in the pictures than it is in reality. Interesting construction work in several places where the door hits a cabinet or a floor tile. Overall, the house felt a little dirty. The bed and sheets were clean.

Lots of the room, clean and we'll equiped

Would we stay again? YES. The kitchen was we'll equiped. Lots of room for our family of 11. The pool was great and the back yard was private. Quit location. Communication was a little weak. There were multiple contact points. Most were VBRO app and some were E-mail. No text. There were 4 different checkout instructions all a little different. We could see the ocean from the top deck, great place to see the sunrise and have coffee.

Annual Family Beach Weekend

A nice house just smaller than we thought. The kitchen was great, very well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit ( no fire because wood got wet when it rained) and visiting. We had a couple of problems that were taken care of very quickly after contacting the owner. One suggestion is to provide a something to prevent a fall in the bathtub/shower on 2nd floor. It was very slippery and nothing to grab on to. The location was good. The out door elevator, which we did not know about until we arrived was a big help. The pool was well used. It was a good weekend.

A few bumps along the way

Had to involve the management company too many times for items such as wrong entry code upon arrival, broken bed, missing coffee pot, empty propane tank. Additionally, to charge to rent beach chairs when you are walking distance to the beach is absurd. I have been renting beach homes for decades and never have been charged. Also, please note… if your house says sleeps 15, have 15 beach towels, 8 doesn’t work. All in all, the management company was very responsive and took care of things on a timely basis.

Hi Barbara we are sorry you experienced some inconveniences during your stay. We are available 24/7 and answered any and all concerns. Propane is not provided for most of our properties. We will be sure to include this in the automated messenging so next guests are not surprised. Sometimes past guests will leave some in a tank but this isn't guaranteed or monitored. We apologize about the coffee pot. Unfortunately previous guests never reported that was missing or broken during a past stay .Will pass on your comments about the beach towels to the homeowners

We had our family vacation here with 3 couples, teens, small children and a 1.5 year old. We have been coming to St. Augustine for years and we love the area, especially Butler beach. This house was really close to the beach and could accomodate all of us. However, the house itself was not like the listing made it seem. The pool was smaller than it seems in the pictures. And the oustide needs quite a bit of updates like new furniture in the pool patio because they were really stained and worn, and the handrail on the outside stairs was broken. In the bedrooms, there was a lot of dust under the beds, baseboards, and on the ceiling fans. And in the kitchen we saw mold in the fridge water dispenser and the bottom of the dishwasher. Also, you get charged for "extras" like using the beach items, baby playpen, high chair and baby bathtub. No other house we have rented here has charged extra for any of that. Overall, we had a great time, but the house could definitely use a good cleaning and upkeep.

False info

This property was grossly mischaracterized in the listing. The photos of the property were misleading, at best. Pool was coated with green algae on the sides. We requested, and were charged, for a heated pool. The heat was turned on on our second afternoon there, and it lasted for 24 hours before the power went out for 3 hours. The pool heat never came back on but, for those 24 hours of heat, it got up to 96 degrees. There were just so many things wrong with this property and the listing. There were photos of gas log in the fireplace but no gas. It's been disconnected. The pool furniture has rusted through on the legs so they're not usable. There is no closet in the master bedroom. There are no clocks in the house. There are no lamps in the living room. The living room furniture was covered with slipcovers and the sofa arm was missing it's padding. The freezer drawer required a power lifter to yank it open. The veranda furniture cushions were mashed and grossly soiled. In my opinion, this listing needs big time help. I will steer clear of this one in the future.

A Very Nice Place

We very much enjoyed our time at the St. Augustine Rose. We gave it a 4/5 just cause there’s room for improvement in very minor areas, but overall the property is true to the listing. The location is great with a 2min walk to beach access. The beach is beautiful! Sandy beach that is combed of shells with refreshing ocean water. We had a tide pool that was the best kiddie play area we could ask for and our older kids loved boogie boarding in the waves. We loved the pool that was treated perfect and felt clean without burning our eyes and skin from chemicals. Downtown was about a 20 min drive and was very interesting and charming. A couple of suggestions for the property itself; a quick power wash of the pool and screened in area would make a big difference. Covers for the screened in area furniture- we were not able to use the furniture since it rained on on our first day and they stayed damp for the whole week. Cushions should probably be replaced soon as there were many stains. The driveway is at at least a 45 degree angle so my family members car kept getting scrapped pulling into and out of the driveway. Those of us with SUV’s had no problem but had to use our emergency break due to the extreme slope. The ice maker on the fridge was broken but the water dispensed nice cold filtered water. The inside was very nice and updated. Kitchen was updated and fully stocked. Living rooms and bedrooms were comfy. Overall very happy!

Get your steps in

You have to make the 2nd payment on the property manager's website (not through VRBO) and they don't send a reminder. So, I almost forgot about it. Great location; a short walk in a quiet neighborhood to the beach access. Driveway is steep and cars bottom out on it. Park behind the house at your own risk as the yard is unkempt and hides a stump. There are no interior rooms on the 1st floor, so you have to hike up the driveway and up the outside stairs to the front door on the 2nd floor. Horrible first impression upon entering because the old and matted down carpet on the stairs is truly disgusting. Fortunately, everything else inside the house (beds and couches) was clean and comfortable. There were some weird quirks that we found: 1) No closet in the master suite. 2) No ceiling fan in the bunk room so air circulation was poor. 3) The 1st level has a screened-in porch and pool but no lights for nighttime enjoyment. 4) Kitchen on the 3rd floor was really tough, as we had to manhandle a full cooler up all the stairs. We enjoyed the pool initially but no one maintained or cleaned it while we were there so by the 5th day, there was a scum line or something around the entire pool. The patio furniture was filthy. An outdated "guest notebook" created confusion as to who handles the garbage and gave rigid check-out requirements. Thankfully, the property manager texted us the check-out procedures and we followed them. We enjoyed our stay, but would not consider this a luxe property.
