About the host
Hosted by Kyle Cruver

Our family grew up here in the 1960s. Relatives ran the historic ferry system in the early 1900s until the Narrow Bridge was built, and my father (and his father) taught in the Tacoma School District for many decades. My parents built this home by hand in the late 50s, and put a lot of love into its construction and subsequent remodel. It really is a perfect family getaway! I have fond memories of boating, paddleboarding, fishing and beach adventures through the years, so this is really a touchstone for me, family members and friends over the years.
Quaint Gig Harbor and Tacoma have sure changed since those early years, but still draw the heart and provide a celebration of natural beauty and local community. I will always consider this area home. Enjoy!

Why they chose this property
My parents built this house from the ground up in 1958, one of the early houses in the Pt Fosdick neighborhood. Sitting just 6" above high-tide mark, it provides easy access for watersports, beach walks, watching marine life (including sea lions, pilot whales, waterfowl, otter, even the occasional orca), or just hanging out in the sand. While sited in a quiet, rural setting, the Beach House is just a quick 5-minute drive to downtown Gig Harbor, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, forest trails, dog parks, shopping, theaters, museums and fine and casual dining.
What makes this property unique
With spectacular views from all over the property, the Beach House provides the perfect NW getaway experience. We provide kayaks, life jackets and accessories, all available just a few feet from the water's edge. For summer months, a community boat launch is just half mile down the beach in Wollochet Bay.
