This property can be summarised in one word....WOW. Spotlessly clean, with a touch of luxury! We loved our stay in the Villa

We had an absolutely delightful time. The villa is perfectly located for day trips along the coast from Split to Dubrovnik, island hopping or inland just 45 minutes away from Mostar. It was a week full of peace and adventure. The villa has an amazing big pool which was used daily whatever the weather. There is an abundance of wildlife although the three cats that have claimed the house are definitely the friendliest :) Our host, Danijel was fantastic, making sure we have everything we need and replying to any questions straight away. We were given pointers where we could go on trips, secluded little beaches only the natives know about and places to go shopping. Our flight was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night which was no problem for Danijel. He made sure we could access Villa Pinjol, have everything we might need to our disposal and something to eat which made us feel at home straight away. A car is required as the house is off the beaten track but this opens up many options when it comes to day trips! We can’t speak highly enough of this place, it was a wonderful holiday.

Wonderful place to stay. Lovely grounds with a comfortable, spacious, clean villa full of character. All our needs were catered for promptly by the hosts, who were extremely helpful and friendly.

Villa Rustica is the most amazing villa - and we have stayed in quite a few rentals over the passed 15 years. Dolores, the owner, is one of the loveliest people you could meet. Nothing is too much trouble and she is always at the end of the phone (text) if you need her. The villa and outside areas are exceptional and spotlessly clean and tidy. The views of the mountains from the pool are amazing. Everything you could need in the kitchen and bathrooms is there. And there is plenty of hot water for a lovely, powerful shower. What sets this villa apart is the location. You can easily do a day trip to Split and Dubrovnik - we even did a trip over the border to Mostar in Bosnia. The Makarska Riviera is just half an hour drive away, with plenty of things to do and see. But the icing on the cake is a wonderful restaurant (Konoba Argentina), which is just a 3 minute walk from the villa. It's rare to find a perfect villa, in such a peaceful, picturesque location and have somewhere to eat and drink without anybody having to drive. Having said that, the BBQ at the villa is great too!! If you want to relax in a little piece of heaven, Villa Rustica is definitely for you.

Our family of four travelled down from Split after hiring a car with Oryx car rental, it took about an hour and a half to reach Zaostrog. Mario, the owner's property manager, kept in touch with us in the run up to the holiday and met us when we arrived. Mario was excellent as he quickly answered any questions we had via Whatsapp and was accessible whilst we were there living only 5 minutes away from villa Mate. The location is stunning being half way up the Viter mountain, so you have the elevation to take in the grandest of views -the photos don't quite do it justice. The villa was clean, very smart and modern. Three showers and toilets, a heated infinity pool to die for, three 4k TVs, inside and outside cooking facilities, this place has it all. The upstairs bedroom was the largest and arguably the most 'adult' but we let our two kids have that room as it had a king size bed and also a single chair bed (which was never used!). We opted for the lower, but equally gorgeous, bedroom whose doors opened out onto a fantastic view and direct access to the pool, ideal for that early morning swim before the kids woke up! The drive up from the main road (2km/5 minutes) is a bit twisty and we elected to keep our car in the single parking spot above the property on the road as the actual driveway/parking was quite tricky to negotiate being narrow and steep, I wasn't that confident in a brand new hire car! As it was October half term there was very little open in the immediate locality, we had to travel half an hour to Makarska to get to a decent selection of restaurants and touristy type activities, but luckily the Delfin beach bar in lower Zaostrog was open which served decent food on the beach. The beach/waterfront itself is only a couple of kilometres down the road as is the local Plodine supermarket which was exceedingly handy! The property was so nice however, that half the week was spent just lazing around and drinking in the views. At an unprecedented mid 20 degrees for end of October, I think we were very lucky! Matko, the owner, owns a few villas in the area I believe. If they are anywhere near as good as this then I would have no hesitation in booking. I would rate this particular villas as the best I've been in on our self-catering travels, it was fantastic. Well done Matko and also bravo to Mario!
