Unique little place to stay. Went back in time the entire stay. Melanie has utilized every space with items that conjured up memories of junior and high school days.Comfortable and compact but very accessible to the places we wanted to visit.

Ideally located for our return visit to Pa. Melanie’s special touches, flowers, candy, pastries made this a warm and unique experience. Getaway property was very clean and thoughtfully equipped!

Cute little cottage with all the extras. Well equipped, clean and sweet nostagia items throughout! Stay here! Melanie was available if we needed anything. She had flowers and sweets on the table when we arrived. Yes we would stay here again. Well done, Melanie.

Great Stay Outside if City

The VRBO was a fun, cozy getaway outside of Pittsburgh. The host was so welcoming. If you enjoy anything vintage, retro, or antique--this property will be a total treat.

Welcome home

It was a great experience to stay in our old neighborhood. The house was a blast to stay in. The tiny house concept worked and was very comfortable. The unique decorations added to the experience. We will definitely be back again

Very unique

Lots of great collectibles everywhere in this charming converted salon. Our host was very hospitable and even showed us around the home next door. When we arrived there were fresh flowers, pastries and a personalized welcome sign. Enjoyed our two night stay!

Everything I hoped it would be!

Extremely accommodating management. Well stocked and spotless. Surprised by baked goods, fresh flowers and a welcome note on a table to greet me! It remained a great adventure the entire 2 weeks that I stayed there!

A fun flashback!

Melanie was so gracious and hospitable! The personal and practical touches were perfect. Seeing the main house was fascinating and I thought it would be a great place for a family reunion of those that grew up in that era. The location was perfect to be equal distance between Pittsburgh and Fallingwater. Would definitely recommend to a couple looking for a cozy getaway.

Quiet and Clam

I had to travel for work for a bit. Location was great. Went to river fishing/canoeing, over to the Flight 93 Memorial and few other trips visiting friends. Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. Melanie and Bob were perfect host. Very responsive thought minimal request. If I had planned right would have stayed another week but was book up “for good reason”.

Literally a night in the museum

I cannot express enough how impressive, and immaculate both of her properties are, and the memorabilia, the appliances, the walls, floors and doors.. everything is from another time. The hostess gave us a tour of the big house since it was unoccupied and told us so much about the area. We felt so welcome and we're just in awe of this place. We came for a festival we go to every few years and will likely only be staying here on future visits. 500/5 ⭐️🙂

We Love This Place!

My husband and I always spend a few romantic days away from the family after Christmas. Our stay at the Nostalgic Guesthouse was an amazing experience for us. First, there is Melanie, the owner, who could not have been more informative and responsive. She called before our visit and answered all of my questions about the local area. I had a great feeling about our trip before we even left New York! We went to the Back Porch for dinner as she'd recommended, and it was delicious. Good wine selection and, as she suggested, we got a table on the lower level, which was very atmospheric. The local supermarket she mentioned, Daritza's, was well stocked and a quick walk from the house. No need to get back in the car. Melanie's establishment is truly a trip down memory lane! Not only is is chock full of nostalgia from our childhoods (and our parents and grandparents), the stuff is in great condition. Beyond that, though, the place is decorated beautifully. It's not hokey - it's gorgeous! And Melanie keeps a CLEAN place. It was immaculate, a quality that is very important to me. The bed was high quality. Even the pillows were great! (I always bring my own, just in case, but Melanie's were really nice!) She graciously gave us a tour of the main house (we stayed in the Hideaway), and it really should be a historic landmark. We had so much fun checking it out. Again, the decor was beautiful, really well done. Melanie, you have a great eye! We used the cottage as a base for our annual pilgrimage to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. My husband and I are architecture buffs, and love to visit these amazing sites to be inspired. We had an especially beautiful visit because of the blanket of snow. Don't miss the sculpture park at Kentuck Knob. We also love to go to the Uniontown Mall for the great sales after Christmas (Burlington Coat Factory!), and to catch up on our movies. We also thrifted a bunch. There's a huge Goodwill at the mall. Bought two tennis rackets in great condition for $2 each. Fun! Thank you, Melanie. We will definitely return!

I chose this charming neighborhood for its peaceful, small-town vibe—perfect for a relaxing escape. The Happy Days Hideaway sits behind The Good Ol’ Days House, offering a serene backyard patio where you can watch little rabbits scamper while being just minutes from local shops, dining, and conveniences. It’s the ideal spot for a cozy, intimate retreat and a better location for a weekend getaway or longer stay than a crowded hotel room with a view of a parking lot. You and your guest can sit on a back patio and enjoy the backyard scenery and watch the many little rabbits scampering around the yard.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

It used to be my Aunt Janie's beauty shop that she operated since the 1950s until her death in 2007. I converted it into a romantic little hideaway for two on the adjoining property of the home of my grandparents since 1949. Truly a one of a kind venue!!!
