Nestled directly in the heart of downtown Boothbay Harbor, The Helm House® (Instagram: @TheHelmHouseBBH) offers an escape from the chaos of the every day. It is a seaside safe haven filled with history, character, and tranquility. With every step you take inside the home, you are bathed in sunshine and breathtaking views of the harbor. What began with the bones of this historical farmhouse by the sea, we maintained its charm, and created a beautiful space that invites you in to be a part of it’s story. The Helm House® is bursting at the seams with thought for its’ guests and love is sprinkled all over. The pinnacle of the home is its stunning rooftop deck accessed via a charming spiral staircase. Sitting near the highest point in Boothbay Harbor, the rooftop deck offers exceptional views of the harbor, the nearby islands, sunrises, and sunsets. Perfectly affixed to the front of the top deck is a large ships helm is affording an opportunity to drive your own destiny as you take in breathtaking harbor views. It is the perfect spot to unwind and bathe in the magnificence that is Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The home is within walking distance to all of downtown offering restaurants, bars, shopping, beauty, and adventure for as far as the eye can see. Perfect

Great location, wonderful views from the rooftop deck and back deck, and lovely clean interior with Maine coastal themes throughout. Great spot for family trip - we would definitely rent again!

Great house in storybook town

The house was adorable--with extraordinary views from every angle. Owners did a great job making sure the house was equipped with everything we would ever need.

Great Vacation Spot

Heaven in Boothbay

Our stay was wonderful! Great location with the best views from the rooftop deck! We fell instantly in love with the house within minutes of checking in. Sarah is a great host and was very responsive to any questions. We hope to be back next year!

Gorgeous home in an ideal location

Beautifully appointed, well-maintained, well-stocked and very clean home with terrific views. The home is tucked away and quiet, but within steps of the shops and restaurants of Boothbay Harbor. Sarah was a fantastic and thoughtful host. The highlight of our stay was seeing the 4th of July fireworks from the roof deck... amazing! Thank you for a wonderful stay; we will be back!

Maine Weekend

We enjoyed our stay very much. Sarah the host could not have been more accommodating. She helped with suggestions of places to eat and activities to do while we were in Boothbay Harbor. The house was spotless and we did not need to fuss with keys because of the key pad lock system. Thanks so much for making our weekend just perfect!

The Helm House is the place to stay in BBH!

Amazing place so appropriately decorated for mid coast Maine. The Helm House is a beautiful gem located within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping and water activities. Nothing is missing in this sweet home. Views from pretty much every room and especially from the awesome roof deck. The host was wonderful providing us a great list of recommendations for our visit to BBH and each exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to stay at The Helm House again.

A gem of a home in an idyllic Maine coastal town

Recently returned from our week-long stay at The Helm House - a charming, beautifully-appointed, and perfectly-situated home in the heart of picturesque Boothbay Harbor. Sarah and Matt plainly take pride in their hospitality, warmly greeting us with a welcoming note and thoughtful gifts that delighted our kids. And the home itself - heartwarmingly adorable with features and conveniences throughout that made our stay comfortable and effortless and fondly memorable. We’re especially grateful for our family gatherings on the lovely porch and the mornings waking to the tranquility of the sleepy harbor just beyond. The Helm House lacks for nothing, and neither will you as its guests. Sarah and Matt, about whom I can’t say enough, see to it.

Trip to Boothbay!

My family and I could not have been more pleased with our experience at The Helm House. We have an 8 month old and therefore had a lot of questions about the property and the amenities. The Helm House had everything we needed which made travel significantly easier. Sarah was great to deal with during the entire process; quick with responses and provided local knowledge of the area. The house was well decorated and has a wonderful location, right on the edge of town, that provided breathtaking views from the rooftop and walking access to all the shops and restaurant's. My family and I strongly recommend The Helm House for your trip to Boothbay Harbor.
