Amazing property and location if you are looking to chill. If I could have given this more than 5 stars I would have. Beautifully stocked kitchen and a fabulous welcome basket with goodies that helped us all week. I would definitely stay here again, and I hope to do so in the near future.

We loved our stay! It was (as mentioned by a previous guest) perfect for a family or group looking for a higher-end stay in a very relaxed part of the island. We were so comfortable, the house and kitchen were full of amenities, and the property is basically just a fabulous garden. We did find it a bit far for our purposes, which were getting to know the Hilo side of the island (but that was our doing). The house was acceptably clean, but a few places could have benefitted from a deeper clean. All in all, we were very happy in the house, and appreciated the great stay. Thank you!

This is such a beautiful home! The peace it brings in the soul is amazing and allows one to just relax. Walking into this condo is amazing. It is spacious, modern, comfortable, and so lovely.. The large lanai is perfect for peeking at the ocean and looking at the beautiful tropical garden. A basket of goodies and homebaked cookies awaited us. The kitchen and supplies were above and beyond what most condos have. J Ro was the perfect host. We can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful stay. The place was beautifully maintained, spotless, and extremely well equipped, making it feel very comfortable. The location was great for us, just steps from a stunning beach, and the lush jungle surroundings with a gorgeous balcony. The host was very responsive and great to communicate with. As with any tropical, jungle setting, you’ll see some harmless geckos around—which is completely normal for the area and part of the local charm. We would absolutely recommend this place.

Kehena Hideaway March 2024

Exquisite accommodations, owners have thought of everything. Loved waking up to the sun coming through the lush garden surrounding the house. Great opportunity to see this part of the island, and to explore Volcanoes National Park. Highly recommended.

Luxury in the jungle

The house was gorgeous and immaculate, luxury amenities included and a wonderful welcome basket as well. The area is very remote so best for dinners cooked at home. There is a nice market about 20 minutes away. A nice base to explore Volcano National Park.

Beautiful lush garden house

My friend and I loved the house. So many thoughtful details, well stocked house, a welcoming basket. Super clean, decorated modern and cozy, loved hearing the coqui frogs. It was a great place to call home for a few days while exploring the island. Oh and that avocado someone gifted us was so yummy. Thank you to the owners!

Secluded gem

Very comfortable, modern, spacious interior with awesome deck overlooking beautiful garden. 1 block from waterfront, with a limited view of the ocean. Great place to chill, but plan to stock your own provisions for meals as this is not close to town and restaurants.

Paradise

Our 2 night stay at Kehena Hideaway could not have been more prefect. From the impeccable taste and décor of the inside to the memorizing foliage on the outside, everything was dream like. This house is like a sanctuary and proved to be just what we needed to relax and rejuvenate. The property manager and J-Ro, the AMAZING grounds keeper made this stay even more enjoyable by being available, welcoming, and the perfect addition to this property.

Relax and enjoy the spaciousness of the house

This house is excellent to relax with your company and cook a nice meal. Enjoy the deck. Take a bath in the huge amazing tub. Plenty of space inside and out to be comfortable. Nice open floor plan to enjoy meals and cooking. Highly recommend if you are desiring to be more comfortable in this area. If you want to explore hot ponds and the black sand beach it is an excellent location.

A paradise within a paradise!

The house was newly renovated and had all the amenities you need. You can see the sun rise from your bed in the master bedroom. What a treat for us. The groundskeeper was awesome. He helped us with our electronic devices and made us cookies. The house had everything you need for the beach. Chairs, snorkles, floaties, and plenty of beach towels. I highly recommend this Vrbo property.

We absolutely loved the Kehena Hideaway! It was the perfect way to start our Hawaii vacation. Property is even more beautiful in person! They truly thought of every possible thing you might need which is good as stores are about 30 min away in Pahoa. We stopped at Safeway on the way there groceries etc. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked perfectly, kitchen was well stocked and having fresh ground coffee daily was a treat. And we loved the heated toilet seats, new for us. Highlight was sitting on the huge back porch and being serenaded by Coqui frogs and Geckos in the evening. The home is surrounded by the most amazing tropical garden with huge variety of flowering plants and palms. We loved every minute of our stay and due to the rain Jro let us use covered parking to load up our suite cases. 5 stars and would highy recommend this stay to all of our family and friends!

Perfect hideaway on vulcano big island

We had 5 fantastic days in the beautiful Kehena villa. We got there late at night when it was pitch black, and the tropical sound already gives away what to expect in the morning: a beautiful, stylish home in the middle of a tropical garden. You hear the waves rolling in at Kehena beach. The whole community is special and makes you loose your sense of time. The black Kehena beach is a couple of minutes walking distance down the road. And everyone we were in touch with was beyond friendly & welcoming. We travelled with friends, 2 couples. And we will certainly be back.

Awesome Tropical Getaway

This 2-bedroom home is perfect for those seeking to escape the big resort Hawai'i experience. Clean, cozy, quiet. Well-appointed, with a great use of space. The appliances are new, the showers are great. It has a large screen TV, and the Wifi is fast. Tucked into a lush, tropical neighborhood, the house has a wide covered deck on 2-sides overlooking a world-class backyard garden. There's a fantastic black sand beach just down the road, as well as a brand new shopping center about a 20-minute drive towards Hilo. Volcanoes National Park--home of Kilauea--is about an hour away. This is the place for people who want to get off the beaten path. A real Big Island gem. We were talking about going back as we drove to the airport.
