English Cottage on Scenic Spring Lake

Our version of an English cottage in the Northwoods! Spring Ridge cottage is on mostly wooded 7 acres, only 5 miles from Hayward, 4.5 miles from Casino. Private dock on Spring Lake ( across County Rd E ), great for fishing, floating, or canoeing/kayaking. There's a public boat ramp 1/4 mile away, and in the middle of the lake is a public island for picnics. Spring Lake is a small, no-wake lake known for good northern, bass, and bluegill fishing. Larger lakes holding walleye, muskie and other species are just minutes away.
Amenities include a lakeside dock, attached lakeview deck, fire pit, screened in porch, and large back yard to relax around.
With 7 acres to roam, you can exercise your pet off-leash if you choose. Dock side, there is picnic table & outdoor seating for enjoying the lake scenery.
While this rental includes only the upper level, the downstairs has a washer, dryer available to renters, but will not be what we would consider living space for this season - We're using it for personal storage.
A pontoon boat is available for rent. Contact host for details.

Great location, 5 minutes from Hayward. Spring Lake's fishing is great, mainly panfish. Pontoon was well-maintained. House was perfect for us. 4 adults, 1 20 month old and graciously Gregg allowed us to bring 2 dogs. The wash machine and dryer was a huge perk. Didn't have to bring so many clothes for our week stay meaning we didnt go home with a ton of dirty clothes. House is beautiful and well stocked with everything we needed just had to bring our food and beverages. Beverage fridge was a nice perk too. Gregg...I can't say enough amazing things about him. He was very helpful prior to our visit making sure we had items like firewood and something as minor as windex to wash the patio door. 20 month old and 2 dogs with nose prints, need i say more. He was always just a call or text away and responded quickly. We have been to many Air B&B/VRBOs and we give Gregg and his beautiful property a 10/10.

The cabin was great, it was wonderful to sip my coffee and enjoy the sunrise over the lake in the morning. The only thing that is a little misleading in the pictures is that the dock and lake are across the road from the cabin, but it’s not at all a busy road so wasn’t a big deal.

The English Cottage had large spaces in the kitchen and living room. Kitchen was stocked with all the basics to cook and fridge had a ice machine. Great deck to sit and enjoy the outdoors. We took advantage of the pontoon rental and enjoyed a peaceful day on the boat. Gregg the host was available for questions and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and our pup enjoyed it as well!

The home was very nice we had a great time. The inside of the home was clean and very accomodating. There were just two things I was disappointed with. Outside the home was covered in spider webs. They were around the doors, windows, siding, dock, boat, and grill. I understand we are at a home in the wilderness and on a lake, but it was just so much i had a really hard time relaxing. Also, the other thing was that there was no shoreline for us to access the lake. In the description it sounds like you can access the water directly from the property, but you can't. You can with a boat, but you aren't able to just walk in. There was no way for me to float or take the dogs swimming on the property. They do have a pontoon you can use that you may be able to do those things, we just didn't have the time.Other than those two things, the experience was great. The home was clean, updated, and comfortable. There is a bunch a land all around the property that my dogs loved running through and exploring. The host, Gregg, was fantastic. He was very easy to communicate with. And the area is beautiful. Overall it was a fantastic experience and i would recommend.

Expensive Trip

All around a wonderful stay. Except the trolling motor had to be replaced. I'd go back again. Greg was an excellent host . He actually refunded us a portion of the cost because of a small problem, which was out of his control.

Trips with daughters & grandsons

Great location across the road from a no wake lake with a dock and lake access. Kayaks were perfect for the lake. Clean and kitchen had everything we needed. We had a great stay!

Peaceful Property

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was super clean and neat and had everything you needed. The calm quiet lake was gorgeous and just the tranquility we were looking for. Gregg was an amazing host. He was there when you needed him to answer any questions you had. We needed something and he was literally there in 5 minutes! The front deck is a beautiful spot for happy hour with an amazing view of the lake. Another benefit is the screen porch which is a must on those buggy nights in the north woods. The cabin is also close to the pubic landing and a number of other lakes. Great spot!!

love it

when we walk in first word out of are mouth was wow. we had a great time and love every minute of are stay at night it was peace and very quiet. we love it and hope we get to go back next year. the owner send me a text or call me to check on us to see if we had any problems. we love it

Very pleasant

Place was clean and neat. There were beverages and snacks available when we walked in. Gregg was very communicative and available if we needed anything. From the pictures I thought the property was right on the water but it is not. Its just across the road but there is easy access. Would stay there again.

Interior of house was updated nicely, lots of storage, great amenities and dog friendly. Instructions clear and host responsive and easy to communicate with. Location was central to many nearby towns and lakes for fishing. boating.

Lake, Eagles and Loon

We had a great stay and immensely enjoyed sitting with coffee on the bright back screened porch on quiet mornings amid the sounds of birds and warm morning sun. The house sits across the street from the lake and has a great view from the porch. We appreciated the care taken in offering thoughtful touches like coffee, bath necessities and pantry essentials. On the lake we spotted loon, a bald eagle and it’s nest. It’s a lovely community, vibrant with wildlife and thick forrest. It is a quiet spot but still close to town. Hayward boasts some fun vintage shops (Poppin’ Tags), market stands, great family dining (Hayward Family Restaurant), wildlife museum and bar (Moccasin Bar) and quaint Main Street. It’s a great spot to gather for a laid back stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thanks for a great stay!

Convenient Hayward area location!

We had a great stay here with our family of five! It’s in a quaint area that has convenient access to Hayward and the area lakes. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in making it a great place to stay with a lot of nice touches and good communication.

Anniversary Get away

The place is very well kept and clean. Everything you basically need is provided. The trails behind the cabin are great for walking and beautiful river. Very quiet and we loved sitting out on the deck and having a camp fire. We had the perfect weekend of relaxing and would definately recommend this place.

Great getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much! Owner was very prompt on getting back to us on a question we had. Was nice to find somewhere that allowed us to bring our dogs with. Very nice and would definitely go back.
