We are retired and love to travel. When we travel we almost always stay at Bed and Breakfasts because we enjoy the personal touches that each place offers to the cold anonymity of most hotel rooms. That is why we have decorated our condo in warm and vibrant Mediterranean colours and have hung family and travel photos on our walls.

We picked Breckenridge and this particular property for a number of reasons. We live in Boulder, Colorado, so Breckenridge is conveniently located--we can be there in less than two hours. We were there in the summer of 1996 and stayed at a place near the Blue River. It was a typical Colorado day--the sun was shining, the sky was blue, it was hot but without the humidity that plagues so many other states--and we thought: Wouldn't it be nice to have a place here. The rest is history! Our condo at Powderhorn is right next to the Blue River, so in the summer we can leave the doors of our deck off the master bedroom open and go to sleep to the sound of the river gurgling beneath us. Powderhorn is also adjacent to the Peak 9 Quicksilver lift, so an easy ski-in ski-out for DeWitt. Sandra, who does not ski, likes the fact that in less than 5 minutes on foot she can be in town. Of the various ski towns within two hours of Denver, Breckenridge is by far the largest and the one with the richest history. So after a hard day of skiing or biking we can enjoy some truly outstanding restaurants.

The condo was very nice and well stocked. The location to Main St. was excellent, and the walk to the Quicksilver lift wasn't too far.

The condo is in a great location. You can walk to the Quicksilver chair lift and Main St. It was as pictured in the description. Sandra and the property manager responded in a timely manner when there was a question or concern. There were two concerns. One, there was quite a bit of mold on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. Three of us in our family have allergies to mold so, it was a issue for us. The second issue was that some of the smoke detectors were not working. At least, I could not see the light on on them. I let Sandra and the property manager know. He said someone was going to come out and change the batteries. Someone did come into the condo when we were not there, but we were not informed of the findings. Otherwise, we enjoyed the condo.
We are glad you enjoyed the condo and its location. We also appreciated your letting us know about the mold and the smoke detectors. The smoke detectors were actually fine, but we replaced the batteries anyway. The mold has been treated with bleach, so although the ceiling is still stained (that will be taken care of shortly), the mold has been killed. We are always grateful to receive feedback. Thank you!
We loved this place. It was spacious and had everything we needed for our family. The layout works great, you never feel crowded. The location was wonderful for all of us skiers! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals.
The fireplace stopped working and we called the management company, they came right over to take a look. Unfortunately they were unable to fix it to work properly but I know they tried.
The family enjoyed the hot tub and just relaxing in the condo. We would definitely recommend for a group.
Awesome place to stay!
We thouroughly enjoyed staying at Sandra’s property. It was a quick five minute walk from the condo to the Quicksilver lift which was great. We also cooked several meals during our stay and Sandra had everything we could possibly need. It was a great experience and we will be back!
This place was an absolute delight!
Everything worked out perfect! The location of the property in Breck was perfect for us! We walked to the lifts every morning and didn’t have to mess with shuttles or parking, and loved the fact at the end of the day we just took the skis off and walked back to the condo. We loved the covered parking, the roomy condo, the proximity to restaurants, and it was all better than advertised!...we absolutely loved it and plan on going back again!

POWDERHORN ON THE BLUE RIVER: Powderhorn sits just above the Blue River where it flows into Maggie Pond. It is perfectly situated for easy access to Peak 9, the heart of the Breckenridge ski area, the ski school, skier necessities and services, a web of picturesque foot paths along the river, and the town's Main Street shops and restaurants. In the winter, Peak 9 not only features many acres of terrain for Beginner, Intermediate and Expert skiers, but also offers quick and easy access to both Peak 8 and Peak 10. Peak 9 is the core of the ski area; the location could truly not be better.
The trailhead for the Forest Service Burro trail is also nearby, providing opportunities for snow shoeing, hiking and mountain biking, depending on the season.
