Conveniently located to downtown Carmel and Carmel Mission, and only a brief walk to Carmel beaches and Mission Trails Park or perhaps even a longer (but enjoyable!) walk around the coast via the Meadows Trail to Point Lobos State Park. This is a one-of-a-kind custom-built post adobe cabin has an open floor plan featuring many amenities. Quiet, private, romantic, and even includes a large and secure private yard for the kids (or doggies), it has it all. Furnished with fine antiques, books, bikes, and a fully furnished kitchen, the Folly anticipates everything you might need for a special stay. Clean, quiet and cozy, the Folly offers maximum privacy and space and includes off-street parking, a large lawn area and private patio. You won't find anything quite like it for a truly unique and conveniently located place for a visit to Carmel-by-the-Sea.

What a great place and location...The Folly is very cozy with a very rustic feel,with lots of Antiques..Curt the owner and host is a wonderful guy and very helpful.Electric gate with remote to park,which is great if like us you have a dog as its all fenced and very secure..Right across the street is the Mission which is well worth the visit and just a five minute walk to the famous Mission Restaurant..Will be definitely be staying here again.

The Folly

Pros: Great location. Near the beach, Carmel Main Street, shopping, trails, Monterey and 17 mile drive. Owner is very responsive..excellent communications. Offered to assist us in any way Great fenced front yard, excellent if you have pets. We had dogs and they enjoyed the yard immensely Cons:Double bed…although very comfortable it is small. The air in the house was musty and stale when we arrived. We kept windows open and fan in living area going the entire time and it seemed to help air out the place We enjoyed our stay. Took evening strolls at Mission Trail Park every evening with the dogs and hiked a short trail at Garland Ranch Regional Park

Wonderful, highly recommend! My husband and I, along with our daughter and small dog, stayed at Carmel Cozy Cottage for 2 nights. The cottage itself is so warm and unique in character, with an enclosed front yard for our dog. We walked to the Mission Trail Park, and took a short drive to the village of Carmel and the beautiful shoreline. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, nice stay at convenient location. The host, Curt, is nice, welcoming, and fast email response. He lives on premise. I deduced 1 star since there could be room for improvement. There was blanket and sheets folded, but had hair all over it. Bathroom lacked TP after the hanging roll was over. There was used shampoo bottles, samples from hotels. Frig had bottle of used wine. Hope the future has improvements.

Excellent location to experience Carmel

Nice guest house with lawn and access to beach, highway, shopping — driving and walking are both accessible.Nice gas fireplace, shower, and areas to sit inside and outside to relax.Timely and friendly help from owner if you need assistance

Sofa beds hurt, but overall it was fine

It’s an open plan, I slept in the sofa bed, no sofa bed is comfortable ever. It is “walking distance to everything” if you like to hike. Otherwise a beautiful setting and close to town
