Very nice property and a great location for families and groups of 8 or less. The outside does not really show how beautiful the inside is. Ideal for traveling with dogs.It's a little distance from main events/activities - Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, etc., but worth the drives to those sites if there is a need for space and housing pets.The Host is very accommodating and quick to respond.I rate it 8 on scale of 1-10.

Nice house but the huge dip in the living room and kitchen area is off-putting and hope that gets addressed soon. Overall nice house on the hottest weekend of the year so far

Wonderful secluded spot on a beautiful section of the Chickahominy River. Looks to be a great fishing spot with many jumping fish. The dock was inviting and the house spacious and best of all dog friendly.

Great View but poorly maintained.The view of the river is fantastic and the AC works in the back half of the house. However, the house has not been maintained as there is one small window AC unit for the front half as the HVAC has not been repaired by the owner. The front half of the house is one large common area with the kitchen, living and dining areas. It was too hot to use those areas so we ended up carrying a coffee table into the back and sitting on pillows to play games rather than using the living space. The hot tub was full of tadpoles (I stopped counting at 50 as I dipped them out) as there was no chlorine. (You can see a frog swimming in it when we opened it). It is NOT a child safe property (nails sticking up in rails on porch), and while there is a rope on the dock to swing into the water, there is no ladder to get back on the dock. There are boards missing on the walking space of the dock and there is a large board hanging off the front of it with nails exposed. The floor in the front half of the house is very uneven (difficult to walk). There is no handicap access to enter the house nor is any part of the house handicapped accessible.

This property is very nice. Secluded and beautiful views!!

The marina is not far away to rent a boat. The cites are within 20 min or so. Beautiful scenery!

River house

We loved our stay on the river!! The house was accommodating. Could have used some more pots and pans when cooking for 10 people but other than that we were very happy with our stay!

River Nirvana

This property was a perfect getaway fory family. Close enough to attractions but far enough for privacy and solitude. Great fishing off the dock. The owners were responsive to any issues and questions. We can't wait to book again next year.

Great, quiet, relaxing

Beautiful area, lovely upgrades to the house. The dock is amazing and we caught a lot of fish. There’s a Family a beavers that lives next to the dock, our kids enjoyed seeing them. The hosts were extremely helpful and quick to respond. Overall great experience!!

Family vacation 2023

House was perfect. Uncle shared first fishing experience with 3 year old niece from the dock and then while boating on the river. Busch Gardens, Winery and swimming. The screened porch was perfect for the little ones to play. We all had a great time.

Quiet Riverside Retreat for the 4th of July

We enjoyed the nice quiet location on the Chickahominy that is 30-45 minutes from Busch Gardens parks and the historic Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown areas. We spent most of our time on the new deck and in the new hot tub. The kids had fun fishing from the dock. We appreciated the privacy that you don't get at the local resorts. We didn't get the chance to boat ourselves, but we did see a large amount of boating activity on the river during our stay.

Relaxing but fun too!

Great for family get away. Didn't get to use hot tub. Fished from dock but no fish. Lots of activity on river...fishing tournament from park and several boat races. It was entertaining.. Beds comfy but needed my feather pillow. Location and proximity to everything was great. Thank you again.

A gem on the river!

Our two families enjoyed our stay here in August 2023. 9 of us, aged 6 to 43, had a blast. The pictures don’t do this home justice. The layout is very well thought out - half of the floor is open floor plan common area - living and dining rooms and well equipped kitchen and 1/2 bath. The other half, separated by the door from the common area, are the sleeping quarters. A master suite with a gigantic walk in shower, a bedroom with a queen bed and another “kids” bedroom with twin bunk and a queen bed worked great for us. There is a foldout sofa in the hall of the sleeping area that is good for one person or two smaller kids as well. The walk to the river is relatively easy. There is a private dock and a swing on it is perfect for watching sunsets. The area is very quite with an exception of occasional motor boat passing by. Robb is very easy to get in touch with for any questions you might have! The area around the home is quite but not far from it is “Blue Heron” restaurant with amazing food and terrific cocktails. Overall though bring your own food unless you plan to eat there every meal - not so many other food places around. There are a couple of marinas near by. We enjoyed renting a boat for a day. If you are into biking - Virginia Capital Trail leading to Jamestown is within reasonable driving distance and the ride to Jamestown is largely shaded making it a good day trip even in summer… Overall A+ for the property, customer service and location!

Beautiful Riverfront Home with private dock and hot tub

This was a really nice property. The house was very spacious. Kitchen was big, and dining room had plenty of seating for 10. You can also see the river from the table while eating. There is a big deck with hot tub which all had nice views of the water. The dock was big enough that everyone could hang out down there. Caught plenty of catfish and some bass right off the edge. We did some swimming also, but the only downside was no steps or ladder to get out. So it was hard to get out of the water especially at low tide. It was easy for teens, but young kids or older adults would have a tough time getting in and out. The stairs leading down to the dock were nice with railings, but there are quite a few steps to get up and down, so keep that in mind if you have older people in your group. We also took our black lab and she loved diving and swimming off the dock as well. We rented a pontoon boat from the Riverside camp and Marina which is just across the river. They also brought the boat right to our dock for a small fee so we didn't have to make the 40 minute drive over there. Overall we were very happy with our stay. Cindy was super nice and very helpful with anything that we needed. Her and Rob were very accommodating and communicative. They allowed us to check in a bit early as well since we were coming from far away. We would definitely come back in the future. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed our stay here. Great place to bring the family for a secluded getaway.

Very convenient stay on the river if you have a boat. Several boat ramps nearby. The floor in the kitchen/dining room area could use repair but otherwise nice house to stay with plenty of room! Rob is an easy host to stay with!

We had family come in from out of state for a graduation held at William and Mary. The home was such a great place for us all to stay! Super river views and fantastic fishing!
