Great Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of room for all of us to spread out and enjoy ourselves, the house was perfect for our reunion. We enjoyed the easy stroll to downtown with its shops, and of course the trails at the McCloud Falls are always spectacular. We would stay here again.

Comfy log home close to everything

  • 4 of 5

Eight of us rent a VRBO every fall, & we were quite comfortable here. Lots of toilets & sinks tucked into former closets - which made it handy for us each to have our own, yet not a lot of places to put our things. We collectively decided to dock a star for lack of lighting & counter space for food prep. We do a lot of cooking together, & it wasn't the easiest place to cook for 8. Large lawns with huge, beautiful trees, a big deck with everything we could want - made for great outdoor spaces to enjoy in perfect fall weather. Comfy beds were great, & McCloud is a sweet little town. A really great hike to McCloud Falls made this trip memorable, don't miss it!

high praise for this high country home

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place for a family reunion or gathering of any sort. The pictures don't do the house justice excluding the spacious side deck where we got to sit and enjoy dinner under the market lights (nice BBQ as well) or the ample game loft upstairs. We made use of the 4.5 bathrooms and the 2,800 sq. ft. of log home (bocce ball on the lawn!).

The old logging town of McCloud is charming and we even found good eateries (Meat Market & Tavern, White Mountain Cafe). Don't miss the McCloud River Trail with its 3 waterfalls spanning 1.9 miles or Burney Falls.

This property is a great value and Alexa couldn't have been a more responsive and gracious host.

Wonderful, large cabin with lots of character!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four and there was plenty of room for us in this spacious home! Our two kids absolutely loved the upstairs bedrooms and play area and we all enjoyed the gorgeous living area and lawn/deck. The hosts were so lovely and took care of a problem that occurred right before we arrived very quickly. We can't wait to stay here again!

Great place to stay in a quirky part of N. California

  • 5 of 5

The house suited our needs perfectly. It's situated a short walk from "downtown" McCloud, restaurants and shops. Mt. Shasta can be seen out the front door. House has both dining in and out and is a short drive from the McCloud reservoir, a 45-minute drive from Burney Falls, and nearer to the McCloud River swimming holes. I said quirky because of the folks who can steer you to seers reporting strange visitors from another planet, able to leap tall buildings with a single bound, as well as "tall people" living inside the mountain. That sorta thing. The town of Mt. Shasta is a short drive away with its city park where you can fill water bottles at the Sacramento River's headwaters.
