Hemlock -Loft 1

If you love unique architecture, you'll love this loft renovated from a 100 year old historic schoolhouse. Boasts heated floors, a private patio, fireplace and beautiful kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters. Enjoy roasting marshmallows around our firepit and cooking your favorite meal on our shared access outdoor grill.
Fully renovated in 2022, you will not be disappointed in the loft styling and amenities our schoolhouse has to offer. Sleeps 4, 1 private bedroom and 1 pullout sofa in the main living area. Located near downtown, Boyne City offers cute coffee shops, restaurants, retail shopping, and a year-round Farmers Market every Saturday.
We are 10 minutes from Boyne Mountain and Avalanche Bay for skiing and waterpark fun! As well as nearby beaches and marinas make enjoying Lake Charlevoix easy! We have ski/beach lockers for each unit to keep your equipment safe and clean during your stay. 10-20 minutes away from Charlevoix, Petoskey and Walloon Lake. Good overall, would stay again

We had a good overall experience. Location was good (about 10 minutes from Boyne Mountain), place was clean for the most part, and the owners worked with me when there were sudden changes in my schedule and needed to adjust my days we were staying. Only negatives were that I didn't have a code to get in on arrival and there were still dirty sheets in front of washing machine.

Fantastic place in a fantastic place

This place was amazing. The owners got back to me very fast. I felt bad for having to contact them a few times (not their fault) but they were pleasant and always helped. I would stay here again for sure. Boyne City is within walking distance and the lake itself and the surrounding areas are one of the best vacations I've ever had. I can't say enough good stuff about the loft. We live in Tampa but, if I had the resources, I'd come up to the lake and stay at the loft every Summer.

New year’s ski getaway

Property was very clean and well arranged for skiing, complete with a separate ski equipment closet for each unit. We didn’t use it, but each also has a great porch ideal for lounging after a day on the slopes. Manager very responsive to communications. Thanks!

The property is beautiful. The owners got back to you very quickly with any questions, Good location, in the middle of several areas we wanted to see. Living room furniture needs updated for more comfort. Mattress in bedroom is very soft, for those who like soft mattresses. Being on the lower level you can hear your neighbors foot steps and muddled voices upstairs.

Beautiful Place-Beds Need Upgrading

Beautiful Place but mattresses need upgrading both in the bedroom and the sleeper sofa. Sofa looked old while the rest was new. Even with the foam mattress pad in the main room it was still very uncomfortable.

Great location, aesthetically pleasing, but not for light sleepers

Interior design is aesthetically pleasing and location offers easy walking everywhere downtown. The check-in process was easy and information was provided on time. We paid a premium rate + cleaning and booking fees over 4th of July. Although the guest handbook said they were included, the property was missing shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, trash bags, and Kleenex. All things I would expect to have been replenished in a premium priced rental. Also if you plan to cook in the kitchen, don't assume they have more than salt, pepper, and cooking spray. Bring everything you need. When we arrived the fire detector was beeping. We attempted to call and text all three numbers provided. We also sent a message through the VRBO app but no one responded until the next day. We went to the store, purchased a battery and replaced it which fixed the problem. (The owner reimbursed us and apologized he didn't have his phone with him that day.) He also refilled the other items that were missing noted above. The size of the bed is not specified in the listing and is only a full-size mattress. For two tall adults, not comfortable. The pillows too were cheap and a budget corner I was surprised was cut given the premium fixtures and finishes throughout the property. Light sleepers beware...From footsteps to talking, you can hear EVERYTHING from anyone staying above you. Great location, and beautiful inside, not very comfortable for sharing space and great sleep.

Schoolhouse condo garden level

Perfect for 2 of us! New and clean: well stocked beautiful kitchen and all nicely staged. Had a few glitches but excellent response from property manager. I believe we were the first to stay in this unit. The patio was definitely a perk - perfect to relax and the gardens were lovely. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back!
