About Paolo

My name is Paolo. I was born and grew up in Rome and I do love my city. I use to travel abroad renting apartments and I and my wife Raffaella decided to do the same with who want to spend a few days in the Eternal City. We try to do our best to make your stay as comfortable, cozy and unforgettable as possible. I offer assistance 24/24 and 7/7.

Paolo purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Paolo chose Colosseo Foro Romano (Coliseum & Roman Forum)

The Colosseum area is maybe the most ancient part of Rome and also the most dense of monuments, churches, museums and archaeological sites. The Colosseum (one of the 7 WONDERS of the World!) is only 200 meters far from the apartment. If you decide to stay in my apartment you will be able to walk everywhere saving lot of time and energies!

What makes this apartment unique

Exclusive upstairs terrace with amazing view over the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Vittoriano, wi-fi internet high speed access, building with concierge and elevator, large living room and 2 separated bedrooms: you will find all those things that can make unique your vacation in Rome!

Best part was the terrace with the view

  • 4 of 5

Thankful for the elevator since I can never pack light. Liked having two bathrooms since there was 3 adults. Ten minute walk to the Colosseum and restaurants. Owner was nice to work with and gave recommendations by email of places to eat, visit and shop.

Apartment was very noisy at night due to loud traffic on street and people coming and going at late hours in the building. Could hear people closing the gate and walking on the stairs.

Building was secure with a gate on the outside near the street and another into the building which was comforting for someone like me who is not a city person.

Overall a great place

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 spent 2 nights here at the end of our recent 2 week trip around Italy. The correspondence with the owner was always prompt and great. Paolo arranged our transportation from the train to apt and from the apt to the airport. He was so patient and understanding when our train was 80 min late arriving and we had issues getting word to him. On arrival he met us at the apt and showed us around, even reviewing and revising our final morning early transfer to the airport. The location of this apartment is great if you want to be close to the amazing coliseum. There are great restaurants , gelaterias, and easy transportation nearby. Having spent two weeks climbing stairs the lift was a welcome sight! The rooftop deck was amazing day and night. It is very large with several sets of furniture. I give it 4 stars because it could use a little TLC in a few areas as other have addressed in their reviews. The shower doors were practically off the track and I was not able to fully close them without fear of them falling. The roof access was very dark at night and we used our phone flashlight to safely climb up. We made use of the hide a bed for our son but were not able to find any spare sheets so we stripped one of the twin beds and used them so he would not have to share a room with our daughter. Because we stayed just a short 2 nights I didn't bring these up to Paulo but I know he would be very responsive if needed. Someone prior to us broke the coffee pot and he offered to bring a new one over asap. Overall would consider this apt again when in Rome and dealing with Paulo was great!

Beautiful location. Beautiful view.

  • 5 of 5

Paolo was a wonderful host. He arranged for a great last minute guided tour and taxi to airport. He met with us and advised us on multiple things. The location is wonderful and the view from the private balcony was fantastic.

Plenty of room in the apartment. Very comfortable. There were some minor details that could have been better but Paolo dealt with them immediately when we brought them to his attention. He was very responsive. Thanks for the bottle of wine, Paolo!

We would recommend this place to our friends and would enjoy returning. A wonderful place and place.

Loved it!

  • 4 of 5

Overall the location of the apt. Is fabulous. 2-3 blocks from Colesseum. Transportation busses/ metro within that distance. Restaurants are around the corner. Cafe just down the street. The apt is on the 6th floor but there is a lift. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all the basics needed. Although we didn't cook. We didn't use the ac because the days were warm and the night cool so we slept we windows open. The apt is not on street side so it's very quiet. So why a 4 and not 5 starts? Well the apt needs little TLC. Door on the first bedroom were off the hinges. We didn't move it cause I was afraid it would fall down and break. The stairs to terrace are not lit at night and there's construction stuff on the path. - not serious ordeal but lack of lighting can make it hazardous. And the main bath smelled of urine. The shower doors were difficult to open because top rail were the door slides were cracked. This was a mom and daughter trip and in all fairness I never contacted Paolo over these items. We were enchanted with Rome. I would rent the apt again.

Apartment is in wonderful location and Paulo was a great help

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in s great location, close to colosseum, forum and Palestine hill. The other direction it is a short walk to Metro.

The apartment has a wonderful private balcony over looking the Colosseum. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen an den were adequate. The only negative was the small shower. Not a big deal to us but may bother some.

Paulo, who checked us in was wonderful. He showed us where everything was on a map, showed us the how everything worked in the apartment and even told us the best restaurants in the area.

Wow! What a place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

The key thing for us when choosing this property was its location and - even better! - the view from the private terrace. It really is like in the picture. The apartment is 10 minutes gentle walk to the Colosseum, another 5 to the Forum, half an hour to Trevi. Breakfast on the terrace every morning overlooking the Colosseum, the "Wedding Cake" in the background and St Peter's Basilica clearly visible in the distance - wonderful! Evening sunsets pretty spectacular too.

The apartment itself is not "boutique" but its pretty good - clean, spacious, well maintained and well equipped. The two bedrooms (one double, one twin) had plenty of space and the beds were extremely comfortable - probably the best we've slept in on various city breaks and holidays. The kitchen and bathroom would benefit from a little tender loving care, but the overall impression is great.

Special mention for Paulo. The information he sent us in advance was really useful and on arrival he provided us with more useful information about places to visit and good places to eat (there's loads of them within a 10 minute walk, from decent restaurants to cheap and cheerful pizzarias and an excellent gelateria). We booked taxis to and from the airport through him and they arrived when expected. He can also book tours and trips, although we'd sorted ours out independently in advance. A very nice and helpful man, keen to help his guests get the best out of their visit to Rome.

If we ever go back to Rome, this is the first place we'd check for availability. A great place for families.
