Located on more than 20 acres, the grounds are beautifully maintained with plantings that attract birds and butterflies. We keep cans of feed for the birds, deer, and fish and ask that our guests keep the critters fed. It is not uncommon to wake up and find a pasture full of deer!
You can walk over creeks, pan for gold, and picnic at the river or relax on the swing by the catfish pond under a gazebo, roofed with honeysuckle. Feed the Trout and Catfish and be amazed at their feeding frenzy. The catfish pond is catch and release, the trout pond is feed only. But you can fly fish or fish from the bank of the river for more than 1200'. This is a section of the river that is open year round so you can keep all you catch. I spent summers at Lake Winfield Scott and fell in love with the area at an early age. While rapidly growing, the nearby towns of Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Dahlonega are not considered 'tourist traps' and have wonderfully friendly people
We bring our horses and pups and it is great to see THEIR enjoyment. They love the trails and the summer coolness, especially. We mainly work to keep the grounds 'estate-like' and continue to upgrade the cabin.

We rented the cabin because it was pet friendly and we celebrated our 48th anniversary. Although the weather did not cooperate (2 days of below freezing, and 2 days of of rain), our spirits were not cold or wet. We had an awesome four days of quiet and tranquility!.Living the fast life you sometimes forget just how much silence is golden. To get up on a crisp morning to hear the birds and the leaves rustling was so soothing. At night is was so quiet it seemed like you could hear the stars twinkling!! And best of all our 2 greyhounds wore themselves out in the fenced in 2 acre pasture. Ark, our youngest grey was a long distance runner when was racing, and we got to see him stretch his legs in real joy. Kiddy, our oldest, gave him a run for his money, even 4yrs older than him. I believe if they could talk , they would say "THANK YOU" Carol. They did plead with me that a second trip should be in their future, and I agreed!!
The cabin was homey, secure and extremely comfortable, well stocked for our needs, and very clean.
Carol, a return visit is in the future, sometime in the spring, when fishing gets really good. I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful 4 days.
From my family to yours "Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!!

I could not say enough nice things about this place. It was secure, private, plenty of room for pets or horses, private river access at one of its widest points. Great river bank for panning or hanging in your tube. The house was spotless and the mattresses were SO comfortable. The house was fully stocked with EVERYTHING we needed and Carol has even left ample packets of info on parks and local maps that are hard to come by. Carol was responsive and was extremely well organized in terms of getting there and comfortable. It felt like home. The place is decorated great with a HUGE hanging bed on the front porch looking over the river bank and fields. There is a fish pond to feed catchfish, feed to feed deer, feed to feed the MANY bird houses. I have never seen so many beautiful birds and butterflies in one place. There was also a huge natural build fire pit we used for making smores and telling stories. the only thing I wish this place had, was my name in the deed. It is truly a little piece of heaven on earth. The house had a great new washer and dryer and gas stove and a huge fridge with a grill outside. There was free firewood onsite. I loved this place as much as any place I have ever stayed in my 44 years of travelling.
Love, love, love this place! As do my fur babies. Had a great relaxing time as usual. My favorite little piece of heaven. Great motorcycle roads. Beautiful views all around. Best location. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
We had such a wonderful time at this cabin. The property is absolutely beautiful. The cabin itself is so cozy and had everything you needed. Carol has bird houses and feeders all around the cabin and they play and sing all day long whenever you want to step out and see them. My girls loved catching the huge catfish and releasing them back into the pond. They also loved feeding the trout in the trout pond.....they are some of the biggest we have ever seen! The toccoa river is just a short walk away from the cabin and we did catch a few trout there as well. A great time was had by all.....and we have already left a deposit for our return visit. We can't wait!
My husband and I took an early anniversary getaway and man were we pleased! The cabin and property are beautiful. We loved the privacy and space. We enjoyed all aspects of this vacation. The view from both the front and back porches are beautiful. Loved sitting on the screened in porch on the back. Even enjoyed a few dinners out there. Wildlife is abundant and the river is right in the back yard. We brought our two little doxies and they loved it too. They explored and played all over the property. This is a great place and we plan to return!
A friend and I just spent a week at this wonderful cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy. The property was just beautiful and so well-maintained. My two dogs loved playing in the river, running like crazy in the fenced pasture, and climbing the trails on the property. It was so quiet and peaceful, no one around. The cabin is perfectly located so you can easily drive to the charming towns of Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, and Helen. It was a perfect week and the owner was so kind and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!
