Host was very communicative, and the property was exactly as advertised. Cabin was very clean and we did not have any issues with check in or check out.
We have enjoyed 3 days of stay; hut tub was very helpful for refresh after the trails, had all the facilities, rooms were so clean, and the wooden panels, beams and the antiques give a nice mountain cabin looks!
This is a fantastic cabin to stay in. It is clean, well appointed and beautiful. The hot tub is big clean and quiet. The kitchen is pretty stocked for your cooking needs and the location is great!
What a lovely cabin. It was a nice relaxing weekend. The snow canopy road to and from was beautiful when it snowed. Its a lil bit of a drive. Coming and going to town, But a wonderful spot to chilax. Would recommend it to anyone and definitely would go back!
Our family stayed here for our annual getaway and so glad we found this place! Limited views from the cabin itself, but you have plenty of opportunities to see the beautiful views on the drive in. We hiked Elk Knob (10 min trip), explored Banner Elk & Boone. The hot tub was perfect! And we enjoyed visits from the sweet hound next door, Asta. Highly recommend staying here if you enjoy the beautiful craftsmanship of a cabin, solidarity, and quality time with your loved ones.
Very Nice.... Extremely Quiet... Hot Tub and Views from the hot tub were amazing. Saw a few deer from the back porch, enjoyed a little hike in the backyard. Very safe and Clean!!
We had a great experience with this cabin. It was just the right size for two couples and was extremely well-appointed for cooking and general needs. It was overall just very thoughtful and welcoming. We did not bring a dog, but appreciated how clean everything was for being a dog-friendly cabin. Speaking of clean, I generally avoid hot tubs at rentals, but this one was so well-maintained that we had to use it. The neighborhood dogs were a lot fun as well. Would absolutely stay here again.
Such a great spot! Definitely a dog-friendly place, but spotless. The kitchen and home had everything we needed for our stay and we enjoyed spending most of our time at the cabin. The hot tub was lovely (holds its temperature very well) and we enjoyed the views. There is a neighbor close by, but you can definitely still experience privacy. It was not an issue for us. We loved the gated porch, so our dogs could enjoy outside with us. And we also really enjoyed the neighborhood welcoming committee (Achilles and Asta) who liked to come around a few times a day for some belly rubs and treats. We travel to the area frequently and this is one of the better cabins we’ve stayed in. Would book again, 100%.
Great cabin, very well stocked, hot tub is covered, area is quiet.
To those that complain about another property nearby, get over it, or build your own in the middle of nowhere.
You can tell this cabin has been here for awhile and someone else bought land next to them, cleared it and built a house. That’s life sometimes. I do like to be secluded when I go to the mountains, but this other property didn’t detract from my experience at all and there was no one in it anyway.
I would stay at this house again.

Thanks for the thorough review Chris!
Glad you enjoyed your stay.
The house, location and host exceeded every expectation for our group of 5 adults and 2 dogs. Our host was always quick to respond and accommodating before and during our stay.
The house was incredibly clean upon arrival and more spacious than the photos suggested. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook most meals during our stay, the hot-tub large and clean, the living and bed rooms had comfortable furniture and were cozy - just like you want it in the mountains.
The front and back porch were great for corralling our dogs when needed and offered some terrific sunset views.
The house was ~25minute drive to downtown Boone and ~30minutes to Banner Elk - both of which had great breweries/wineries/restaurants/shops to explore.
We also hiked Elk Knob State Park which was just ~10 minutes drive from the house and offered great trails (1.9miles to summit).
Be mindful that the last ~1.5miles leading to the house have very windy roads and would encourage 4WD during the winter months.
10/10 stay - will be coming back!
Overall this was a great cabin to spend the weekend in. It's about 20-30 minutes from downtown Boone. 20 when the weather is better. There is a house next door but we never saw anybody and the hot tub is positioned in a way that its private. The only reason this isn't a 5 star top notch cabin is the road approaching it is dicey. Now admittedly, the listing mentioned the road condition and recommended a 4WD vehicle but on our weekend, there was still ice (originally snoiw) on the road and a couple of bends I wasn't sure we would make it. The nice thing is you can come in one way (from meatcamp) and leave the other (421) and each is an easier drive, respectively. Only other thing is the TV was limited so remember to bring streaming passwords. Other than that, it was a great cabin and I would stay there again.
Our family really enjoyed staying here! Loved how it was decorated and it felt cozy . It was relaxing to sit in living room with the fireplace on. The kitchen was fully stocked with the things you needed to cook and the charcoal grill was used. The hot tub and hammock were awesome too! Overall great location. We’d like to come back when the leaves fall off trees to see the view from back porch. There was a close neighbor but, it was quiet and peaceful.
We really enjoyed staying at this property, there were only 2 of us and our dog but the cabin has many beds and an enormous hot tub so it would be perfect for a family and the weather in the mountains is amazing in the summer months so don’t be afraid that the place doesn’t have AC. I will say that the pictures of the place don’t show a neighbor that’s right next door and the grassy shot in the front of the house is a very steep hill and isn’t reasonably usable which we were hoping to use for the dog. But overall an amazing place to stay!
