About this property

Beach Access / Oceanfront A-frame cabin with sweeping ocean and sunset views

BAY FRAME is a 2 bedroom/1 bath + office Oceanfront A-frame Cabin with retro vibes and modern amenities. Located on a high-bank waterfront with sweeping ocean views in the Pacific Northwest with direct beach access.

The space
2 bedroom - 1 bath + office A-frame Cabin. We kept the retro Cabin vibe and renovated it with modern amenities. Majestic ocean views, both inside and out. The view from the loft makes you feel like you are floating on the water.

The outside is tricked out - relax by the fire pit with a cocktail at sunset, fire up the grill for dinner, and dine alfresco. Morning yoga on the expansive 400 sq/ft oceanside deck is a restorative experience with eagles & herons flying over. Or take a run or bike ride along the road hugging the ocean. Stop by the local farmer’s market to pick up seasonal ingredients to cook up a special meal in the well-appointed kitchen. Drop a needle on the record player and curl up to the fireplace and watch the tides change. Brew a cup of coffee, one of 3 ways, and relax in the rose garden with a good book. You pick how you want to unwind, and you won’t want to leave.

Bedroom 1 = Queen
Bedroom 2 = Queen in Loft
The loft bedroom is open to the main room below and accessed by a spiral staircase.

If you need to work - high-speed WiFi is available along with a dedicated office with a view.

Bay Frame has heating in each room but No Air Conditioning, fans are provided for cooling.

Pure bliss.....
We absolutely loved it here! The most beautiful sunset off of the deck that we have ever seen. Staying at Erin and Andy's property was kind of like sailing on a ship, with all of the nautical details, but the convenience of a short bike ride to fun nearby parkd and restuarants. We are hoping to visit again in the near future!

Wonderful Escape; Amazing View
Bay frame was perfect. The remodel is lovely. The property had everything we would possibly need, including many thoughtful extras. We will be back.

About the host

Hosted by Erin Taylor

Host profile image
We are your Hosts - Erin & Andy. We love to travel the world and have stayed in 100s of short-term rentals which have allowed us to anticipate what you will need. Erin is a trained Chef and has outfitted the kitchen for the most adventurous cook. Andy loves the outdoors and recently planted fruit trees for your harvesting enjoyment. He is also the 2021 Winner of the “Largest Crab” catching contest in Birch Bay, which he caught on a kayak just off the beach from Bay Frame. We hope you enjoy Bay Frame as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Bay Frame was built in 1962 and Andy & Erin purchased Bay Frame in 2021 and named her.
We spent over 9 months renovating the cabin, bringing in modern touches while maintaining the charm and character of the A-Frame that we fell in love with. There are 2 types of Fir Trees (White & Douglas) on the property along with Maple Trees and Shore pines. The Rose garden out front has been around for decades and we spent the winter pruning and landscaping to preserve the beauty of the garden. Bay Frame also has a vegetable garden, apple trees, and 5 different varieties of blueberries, nectarine, blackberries, and red currants.

At Bay Frame, we tried to reuse and repurpose as much as possible. The Barn Doors were salvaged from a local Elementary school. Kitchen shelves are cedar from naturally fled trees from Skagit county. The tongue and groove wall planks and characteristic A-frame beams are original to the cabin. The side table top with the Wifi router was found on the beach and is now restored after much sanding. The furnishings are a mix of upcycled vintage pieces acquired from the local area with modern touches.

What makes this property unique

Other Details to Note:
Wooded areas are homes to critters such as but not limited to deer, raccoons, squirrels, rodents, spiders, ants, and insects. We are contracted with a pest control company with scheduled treatments; however, we cannot guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in or around the cabin. The presence of any such critters does not entitle the guest to a refund.

Beach Access: Due to the devastating November 2021 floods, the beach access from the cabin is currently closed. Please do not attempt to access the beach from the Cabin. Beach access is a quick 0.5-mile stroll down Birch Bay Drive at the State Park.
