Adorable cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was so clean, cozy and comfortable. We had a wonderful visit and the location was perfect!! We lost power due to the abundance of snow Tahoe was receiving so we didn't have wifi and we lost cell service. Once we drove to the main road we were able to have service, that was the only negative which was due to Mother Nature :) Thank you to Peter and family for sharing there cabin :):):)

Lovely cabin but many problems

  • 2 of 5

We booked 4 nights at this cozy cabin to ski Homewood. I had some initial concerns when the owner informed me of the need to bring a snow shovel. What? It doesn't come with one?! Nope. Had to buy it. We have had HUGE snows this winter and the owner is not responsible for this. What he IS responsible for is creating a SAFE habitat. Mr. Gilbert failed to do so. The street was plowed but the entrance to the home was blocked by densely packed mound of snow 3 feet high! Impossible to clear with our newly purchased shovel and extremely dangerous to navigate. Esp. for seniors. Mr. Gilbert should have hired the services of a snow blower to make this home approachable. Add on to this the falsehood of satellite cable TV (there is none) and accessible internet (good luck with this) as well as the fact that the owner would not answer my requests for help--- well, we ended up leaving a day early.

It is a sweet home that needs some updating from the 1990's (Bluetooth stereo maybe. How about a microwave with a turntable?) but be aware and DO NOT stay here during big snow. It is UNSAFELY maintained.

PS still waiting for my reimbursement for the snow shovel.

Great place on the west side of the lake

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for a relaxing Labor Day break and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Cozy Cabin is in a quiet neighborhood at the end of a wooded street, which feels like you are away from it all. We hiked to Eagle Rock, walked to Homewood, and it is a short drive to Sunnyside, beaches and restaurants. Our dog was very comfortable and the surrounding area is great for walks. Peter, the owner, is easy to work with and responsive. We will be back!

Peter's place is immaculate, very well appointed and well taken care of! Best rental to date!

What a great cabin! It has three good sized bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a wonderful living space. It's on a wonderful quiet street super close to the lake. My wife could not stop remarking how instantly comfortable she was with the place. Everything was to her (very picky) liking. Peter maintains a wonderful little gem on the west shore. Even our neurotic (rescued) pooch was instantly at ease as though it was our own home. Really really really great place.

Welcoming and Cozy Cabin Indeed!

  • 5 of 5

This New Year's vacation was celebrated amongst a small group of friends at this lovely location. The pictures definitely do the property justice: well-kept and comfortable. We weren't short of anything we really need. The surrounding area of trees/snow and just plain nature were beautiful. So peaceful. We were able to sled down some slopes right next to the cabin. Respectable neighborhood of nice people. The lake is literally a short walk away and Homewood Ski Resort is just around the corner. Not gonna lie, we were a loud, laughing bunch. We were just really excited to have found and celebrated at this great location. The owner made the whole process smooth sailing and was accommodating until the very end. Bring your firewood starters or fireplace experience because it will be much needed. We came after a couple days of snowfall so our van made use of snow chains. Fun adventures, no complaints at all!
