65 to 85: Why was this location chosen by the Royals of old Maui as their home? Perfect weather. Our high and low temperatures are almost always 65 degrees and 85 degrees - year around.

North Kihei is on the sheltered dry side of Maui, close to the airport and all of the amenities that Maui has to offer. Why waste your valuable vacation time driving??? We are 25 min. from the airport, not 90 like other locations on Maui.

Ma’alaea harbor is 5 min away and features a full range of activities including snorkeling, dinner cruises and whale watching. It also features The Maui Ocean Center (aquarium) and some of the best restaurants in Hawaii. Shopping and sports activities to suit any taste are right here for you as well.

We are on a beautiful beach but some of Hawaii’s world-class beaches and snorkeling areas are just south of us and if you love the high surf, the fabulous north shore is about 30 min away. Night life in Laheina and Ka’anapali is also available.

We offer a fully updated condominium with all of the features you expect. In-unit washer/dryer, all tile floors and excellent natural cooling located on the 5th floor, north wing of the building.

The park-like grounds feature a heated pool, beach, restaurant, roof area with BBQ, whale watching and gorgeous sunsets, off-street parking and a quite environment.

We employ an on-call local professional management company (Maui Menehune Aloha LLC) who is available if there are any issues with the condo. We want to be sure that every minuet you spend in paradise is spent on your terms.

About Jim and Diane Ogann

We are from the Midwest have grown children. We have owned this unit since 1999 and have completely renovated it. We enjoy using it when it isn't rented and usually get over to Maui twice a year to make little additions and insure it is ready for your stay. Why Jim and Diane Ogann chose South Maui

Maui is one of the best places to vacation in the world and this area is one of the best on Maui. It is quiet, dry and close to everything. Winter or summer the temperature is almost always between 65 and 85F. The Ancient Hawaiian Royals chose this part of the island to live and built the fish pond that is still there today in front of Menehune Shores. Menehune is unique in that it is right on the water. 150 steps from our unit to the Pacific. No streets or parking lots to cross so you can send the kids to the pool and watch them from your lanai. Our unit faces west and north so we have the sunset view and the cool shade while overlooking the pool, the ocean and the park-like grounds. Our 5th floor vantage point allows us to whale watch right from our lanai so bring your binoculars.

What makes this condo unique

We have many friends here and the complex is staffed by an excellent on-site team that can take care of any issues that arise. (Mauimenehunealoha dot com) That applies to both owners and guests. This extra advantage provides you with the peace of mind that your stay will not be interrupted by issues that are not addressed immediately. For first-time condo guests, this is especially important. Our unit has everything we need to entertain guests and we visit frequently to insure it is all in tip-top shape. HDTV, WIFI and DVD player are provided.

We are still not unpacked from Hawaii yet but we are slowly getting there! (we were there from 7/4 thru 7/11. It went way too fast!



Just wanted to tell you again how much we enjoyed your condo. It was exactly in the right area.....Kihei Caffe was a wonderful place for breakfast! Also enjoyed 'Da Kitchen". And it was so stocked with 'stuff' but we were always too tired to cook so we ate out! Maybe breakfast there and then we made picnic lunches.



I hope we are able to come back to Maui soon and enjoy your condo again. This time more for relaxation....instead of go, go go!



Can I recommend your condo to others? We surely enjoyed it.

Notes:
Located on the 5th floor for great views, optional king bed in 2nd bedroom, ceiling fans, flatware, dishes, Place mats, Candles, Cloth napkins and rings, Rooftop (7th floor) and poolside BBQ dining, sunsets and whale watching, Fish pond, Onsite management, recently added bedbug protective bags to mattresses and box springs in both bedrooms. We have not had this problem but this addition helps keep it that way! There is also a Pack N Play and booster seat available if you have little ones. The unit us on the cool North wing, 5th floor with excellent circulation so as with most of the units in the building, there is no Air Conditioning or Heat in the unit. Electricity on Maui is very expensive so this allows us to set our rates competitively and pass the savings on to our guests.

Great location!!!!

The condo is in good shape. The ocean is in front of the lanai.The kitchen have everything a cook needs.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. We fell in love with the place in the mid '90's and purchased this unit in 1999. Lots of remodeling and gentle use by our guests have helped make it what it is. We have been coming back every year since then and still love going to sleep to the sound of the waves. We have also developed a number of repeat customers so feel free to come back again.

Very nice property with a fabulous view!

This condo is very well maintained and attractive. The view from the 5th floor is beyond description. Menehune Shores is also a very nice and well maintained property that is situated in a great location for sightseeing, shopping, dining, etc., but far enough away from the "big city" to be relatively quiet and pleasant.

I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

Well-equipped, comfortable, well located with engaged owners

Fantastic. The locations is good - there is direct access to the beaches either side of the building, one of which has a breakwater, making it ideal for young children. Waking-up to the sound of waves and a view of the ocean is priceless.

The flat is very well equipped, from kitchen to beach accessories - our kids especially welcomed there being body boards. The complex has its own pool and BBQ grills (by the pool and on the roof). The owners are very responsive and have obviously done everything possible for their guests to have the best time possible.

There can be a little road noise (the waves are louder!), but, as a very light sleeper, it didn't disturb me. The only issue was having to leave :(

Awesome Condo, highly recommend

We loved this condo, the view of the ocean, pool and palm trees from the lanai is wonderful. It was very clean and well stocked for our week long stay. The afternoon breezes kept it nice and cool. The bed was comfortable and it was great having two bathrooms so we didn't have to compete with our teenage daughter for one.

The complex itself is very well maintained, the garden and pool especially. The location is nice - while not in the heart of Kihei it is great being so close to the beach without a busy road in between. The beach just south was good for strolling and beachcombing but not really for swimming. The "fishpond" beach out the front was great for families with small children as there is no surf and it is extremely shallow but we didn't swim in it. It is also very central to get to other parts of the island to explore. The rooftop BBQ area is great although I wish it had been opened up before 7am to go and enjoy the sunrise and do some whale spotting !

We had dinner at the onsite Indian restaurant Menehune shores and found that to be good also.

One small suggestion for the condo - a beach umbrella would have been nice to accompany the beach chairs.

We will get another one and see how it goes. The beach to the North is the one we like the best. two miles of pure Maui white sand, sheltered by the bay. Outstanding vacation rental!

We loved our stay in Maui and a big part of that was our experience with this condo rental! The property is centrally located to many other areas & attractions, so very easy to get around each day. The condo itself has an excellent location within the property - ocean, beach, & pool view cannot be beat! The little stretch of beach right outside was pretty quiet, yet gave you plenty of room to relax or walk a ways. We completely enjoyed the lanai with the view & breeze. The condo was stocked with just about everything you can think of that you might need on vacation - the beach closet was full of towels, toys, chairs & coolers and the kitchen cabinets had everything from spices to tin foil to a blender. The pool and grilling areas were great & not busy at all. The whole complex was very well maintained and clean. The owners were excellent to work with, always quick with replies to questions. We'll go back someday & hope to stay here again!

Amazing!

We spent 4 nights here in January and it truly was a home away from home. The place has everything that you could ever need and the view and atmosphere is amazing. Our 4 year old enjoyed the beach just steps away from our room. The place was clean and it wasn't too hot even without an air conditioner. Also the owners are amazing, very responsive to anything we asked of them. We love this place and can't wait to go back one day!! Great location, safe and beautiful! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!

Owner's Response: Thanks Sheldon. We appreciate your comments. Being located up high on the north wing of the building helps the cooling a lot. Electricity is very expensive on Maui so we decided to keep our prices low and go without A/C as most of the owners have done in the north wing. The temperature in Kihei is almost always 65-70 degree lows with 85 degree highs. When Maui was a kingdom, I've been told that the king lived in this area. The fish pond is one piece of evidence to back that story. We routinely visit in the summer to do maintenance and enjoy the unit and we just sleep with the windows open and the ceiling fans on.. It's wonderful to hear the waves and feel the sea breeze. Thanks again, the owners.
